What is their strategy regarding labour shortage (selection, recruitment, retaining talents…)?

Introduction:
Labour issues have always been related to the economy itself whether it be caused by a war, a bad decision from the government or a pandemic. The aim of the survival of industries is knowing how to deal with the loss of people willing or able to work and the volume of work that came with the shortage. After seeing what happened during the Second World War in order to lessen the aftermath’s impact there had to be something done about this important matter, specifically in the hospitality industry.

“Far from being a problem, the current labor shortages may yet be an opportunity to rebuild a fairer economy, improve incomes down the employment chain and boost productivity. Rather than trying to reinstate the pre-COVID labor market, Western societies should seize the chance to fashion a new social compact. Organization size has some influence since we assume that it determines the financial possibilities organizations have. We suppose that the sector an organization operates in will influence the possible solutions organizations can implement. We expect differences in responses among sectors in dealing with labour shortages. The method of increasing salaries for worker incentives: Organizations with high priorities on avoiding costs will be reluctant to raise wages” (van den Broek, 2012).
