Assignment
You have been employed as a Security Consultant Team Leader for a large, UK
based NGO that conducts projects worldwide, often in remote and hostile
environments.
Further details, a description of the organisation, its activities and its current
Security Risk Management framework can be seen at Annex A and B.
Please also see Annex D for Task 2.
The assignment can be broken down into 2 distinct tasks as follows;
Task 1

A detailed analysis of differing consultancy cycle methods and a reasoning
for your chosen method in a security consultancy intervention context.
Discuss your project plan: how will it be controlled and delivered

and what practices will you implement to manage potential risks to project
fulfilment.
Evaluate the tools and techniques available to you and your team when
implementing an intervention and delivering a solution to the client

Task 2
You have now been tasked to lead your team in a Security Consultancy Project
Intervention. The full brief concerning the intervention has been passed to you
from the client account manager and can be seen at Annex D. In short, the client
has requested a change management program to align a security conscious
culture throughout the organisation.
The strategy for implementing the culture change will be decided on further
client meetings. At this stage you are tasked with creating a brief for your team
that analyses the consultancy life cycle that best suits the project outlined in
Annex D and evidences the deliverables to be expected at each stage.

Assignment Guidelines
Please read the following assignment guidelines carefully, these are here to keep
you on track when writing your assignments and to ensure you demonstrate the
listed ‘suggested evidence’ to gain a Pass for the unit.
The assessment of the ATHE Level 6 Award in Security Risk Management
Consultancy is completed through the submission of internally assessed learner
work. The learner can therefore achieve a Pass or Fail for each unit based on the
quality of the work submitted and the assessor’s judgements made against the
criteria provided.
The suggested evidence listed below is how learners can demonstrate that they
have met the required standards and should be seen as a minimum guide as to
what is required when formulating any assignments. Failure to demonstrate the
‘suggested evidence’ will result in an initial fail, the return of work and the need for
resubmission. Each learner is allowed up to two resubmissions per unit.
