Art History, You choose topic

For this project, you can choose from any of these topics.

Independence Era African Art
Impressionism
Art Nouveau
Each of these topics represent sections in the textbook. However, don’t use any of the images in the text. You’re to research art types and images on your own.

Follow these instructions for completing this assignment.

1. After choosing a topic, choose six images that represent the development of this art era, from beginning to end. Limit your choice to only one work per artist or architect.

2. Research these artists/architects using scholarly sources. Art books and museums websites will be helpful. Be sure to find enough information about each work of art so you can meet the word-count requirements.

3. Use at least one scholarly source per work of art.

4. Choose a theme for your paper. Remember, you need six different artists/works of art.

4. Write a title for your paper.

5. Write an introduction of at least 100 words.

6. Write a section about this art era. At least 300 words. What were the dates? How did it develop? Why? What characterized it? How did it influence the art world and future eras?

7. Paste in your six images and write a caption for each one. Follow this caption style: Title, Artist If Known, Date, Medium. Current Location.

8. Write at least 400 words for each image. Introduce the artist/architect; why she/he/they created this work, describe and analyze the work, identify where it first appeared, and any other information to educate the reader about it.

9. Use subtitles to organize your presentation.

10.Write a conclusion of at least 200 words.

11. Use end notes, and list them at the end of the paper.

12. Include a list of sources.

By the end of the paper, the reader should be well-informed about your selected art era.
