In this assignment, you will analyze a genre of writing associated with a profession related to your major. You must analyze a genre of writing that can be used to convey information from research. (n.b. In your Professional Writing Project, you will be writing an example of this genre. To receive credit for that assignment, you will need to include some information from your Literature Review.

In your analysis, you will investigate the rules of this type of writing. In this short essay (at least 3 pages), you will examine at least four examples of your chosen genre. Even though you may be discussing a non-academic genre, your Genre Analysis should adhere to academic essay structure (APA format, introduction, body, conclusion, etc.).
Although you do not need to answer all of them, you should consider the following questions:
What is the purpose of this genre?
What types of evidence/details are being used?
Is this evidence effective?
How is the information organized?
What is the structure of the genre?
How does the structure help disseminate the information?
How formal/informal is the word choice and sentence structure?
What specialized language is used?
What other linguistic features stand out?
