What might this mean for developers who work with them?
Research and Written Discussion: After reading HSL Ch. 5 Legal Structure, research and find three construction companies and three developer companies in your local area, describe what they do (e.g., land use types, phase/stage of development, size of company, type of employees) and identify what the organizational legal structure for each company. Based on Ch. 5, what are the corresponding liability limits of owners for each company? What might this mean for developers who work with them? All written or “communication” discussion posts require that you respond to at least two other student’s posts. Responses must provide a contribution to the conversation–such as adding thoughts on the developer-construction company relationship (based on the type of legal structure) or identifying patterns in construction companies other students have discussed.
