What grade would you give yourself and why and what goals would you set for future presentations? This is my specch I am greatly delighted to be talking to you on the topic of prejudice and discrimination. In the current earth, prejudice and discrimination are greatly linked. Prejudice is seen as a negative feeling one has against another person of a different group of persons. Being prejudice means that one ha a preconceived rigid and illogical approach and view about another group. Discrimination, on the other hand, involves all attacks on others that have a prejudice motive. The times of the past few months and the present have been traumatizing to most of the people worldwide and who knows when this will come to an end? It has spread in most countries of different continents without sparing even the superpowers. People from all ethnicities, prominent people, rich, poor, have all been infected or affected in one way or another. The virus was first termed as “Pneumonia of unknown cause” by the WHO. It has since spread from Wuhan in China to all continents of the world and it is still spreading every day (Novel, 2020.) Most of the countries that have already reported Corona Virus cases are continuing to report an increase in number daily. Different countries have given different views and reports regarding the virus, a good example being the United States of America.US President Donald Trump in reported that everything was  came to refer to the Virus as the “Chinese disease” and blamed the Chinese people. This is seen to have arisen verbal and physical attacks toward the Chinese and the Asian-American people. The Asian-American people have since been treated differently as the case of being looked at intently as you cross the streets or when in a grocery shop. Other situations have even been worse where there was an incident of a lady who was shouted at by a total stranger, was spat at and shouted at for being Chinese. This has led to increased preconceived opinions about the virus being Chinese origin, that the Chinese are the cause of this pandemic. The main target that the president wanted to protect was the stock market, wanting it to look good but the virus has now affected the whole of the US.face masks have been highly recommended by medical practitioners to curb the spread of the COVID-19 (Snijder et al 2003).Since the number of reported COVID-19 patients in the US has been increasing, it has forced them to use the face masks despite Americans being against face masks. The face masks are associated with the Asian countries where it is a requirement to put them when in public places. This is because most of the respiratory diseases originate from Asian countries and are mostly discriminated against for this (Wen, 2020). Trump said that his people are not going to wear the face masks forever. This implied that wearing of face masks is alien and alarming. The president says that China together with the WHO should have given an early notice about the virus. A political crisis has also been experienced, especially Chinese involvement through verbal attacks. The main cause of inequality in the US is prejudice and discrimination, whether one is international or not. Prejudice and discrimination are unconsciously, subconsciously or consciously, furthered by us to our neighbors. Our prejudice emotions usually affect our behavior. Because feelings are always present in our daily lives, we handle them will determine how we get affected. Most of the normal activities carried by people have been greatly affected, some coming to a standstill.  Since the whole world is now affected, we now have to go by the measures put in place by the WHO and our governments to help curb the spread of the virus and hope for the best.ReferenceNovel, C.
