Poetry Discussion

I’m studying and need help with a Writing question to help me learn. Why poetry? Why did the various artists of the New Negro era and the Harlem Renaissance turn to poetry as a major mode of expression? How does poetry allow for social, political, economic, and moral critique? Provide an example of a poem that does this critique. Explain why the author would want this critique to be published in the form of poetry?
