Social workers are often involved in direct treatment or intervention to address problems.This assignment is Part B (the second section) of your final Literature Review Paper.Locate and analyze research around a social work intervention or treatment related to the topic you selected for Part A. To complete this assignment, you will need to conduct a review of the literature around interventions that have been evaluated to treat or address the problem area identified in Part A. You will need to briefly discuss the kinds of interventions you locate that have been used to address your problem area and to more carefully evaluate 3-5 articles directly addressing one specific intervention or treatment approach. It is not enough just to answer the questions I have provided for you below-discuss and analyze-use critical thinking skills.As you complete the assignment, consider the following:Have previous research studies found your intervention or treatment program to be effective? Be specific and discuss what they found. How did they find it?If so, discuss specific studies that found your intervention effective. How were these studies conducted? What measurement tools were used? Etc.(For example, the Trauma Symptom Checklist for Children might have been used in a study to determine a child’s experience based on self-report of symptoms in a study evaluating the impact of play therapy (intervention) on trauma symptom severity. I would discuss this tool, how it was used, etc.)Discuss the qualifications for participation in each of the studies that found your intervention to be effective. (For example a qualification might be disclosure of sexual abuse).Discuss significant findings. What did the researchers determine as a result of each study? How is this significant? What does this mean for social work practice? For the population? For the problem or issueWhat themes did you notice throughout your literature review search? (For example, parental support or parental participation in therapy might be themes that would be observed in a literature review search in trying to determine whether or not play therapy is effective with child victims of sexual abuse)Elaborate on themes you noticed. (For example, if you noticed a consistent theme of the importance of parental support, provide details-what led you to the conclusion that this was a theme across the research found? If I noticed that several studies mentioned the importance of parental participation in therapy-I would then elaborate and discuss this further. If this is important then the studies that were conducted would mention this. So what did they say about it?)
