RTCA SC 31 The Federal Aviation Administrations Discussion
Reading the RTCA SC-31 report, and realizing that it was published in 1948, note that it has several capabilities in common with NextGen. Reading the GAO Report on NextGen Progress (2017), it is clear that the realization of many NextGen capabilities will be further in the future than originally planned in the 2004 National Plan and initial NextGen Concepts of Operation. That notwithstanding, NextGen capabilities envisioned in the 2004 report have beef deferred and altered in the current NextGen planning.Feel free to read additional information, but comment on the FAA’s ability to implement changes in the air traffic control system, what are some possible causes for the delays experienced and projected, and suggest any possible remedies in your opinion.
