A few decades ago the “nature vs. nurture” debate was a real one. Scholars now tend to believe that nature and nurture, both, are important. In other words, now more scholars believe that biology as well as socialization (i.e. what we learn from families, school, the media, at daycare, at church, even at work, etc.) make us who we are.
