For this assignment, you will explore The San Diego Museum of Art in Balboa Park in-person and write an analysis on one selected work of art. You can choose any work of art from the Museum’s collection, from any time period/culture, and in any medium.After your museum visit, you’ll write a discussion post analyzing your work of art in more depth. You’ll conduct a formal analysis of your chosen work of art (where you analyze at least 2-3 of the elements of art and 2-3 principles of design), how the artist has created a composition, and what effect it has on the viewer. You will expand on that using a bit of contextual analysis, providing a deeper understanding for viewers about the work of art’s meaning based on its social, historical, political, religious, or other significance. This offers insights that enhance the viewers’ experience and understanding of a work of art.
