Your group has the following options for the final presentation:

1. Develop or find a scenario to present and then analyze by applying the class principles. (You could use a tv show, a movie, or a case study or create your own scenario, story, or skit.)The objective will be to show what applied cultural intelligence would look like. 

2. Develop a plan for a start-up or new business in which you include you and your group-mates as representatives of potential cultural, racial, and gender dynamics. 

All presentations require an analysis of the key class concepts including.

a. Culture as applied to motivation, leadership, teamwork, and so on. This requires the application of the cultural dimensions. As you may know, there are many models of cultural dimensions. Application of the ones covered in this class is necessary for a top-level grade. This part of the analysis should look similar to what we did with the Adenaya video.

b. Racialization and bias. Your analysis should address issues such as white privilege, white fragility, implicit bias, and aversive racism

c. Gender dynamics. Please use the concepts addressed, including notions of gender roles and stereotypes, sexism, sexual harassment, and so on

d. Cultural intelligence: Apply the model of cultural intelligence in a broad sense, covering all of the issues analyzed. Show what a culturally intelligent approach would look like

e. DEI policy: Please outline a proposal for a good DEI policy that would circumvent the problematic interactions.

Ethics in Crisis Assessment and Intervention

Assessing a crisis can be challenging due to the emotions in moment and brief amount of time to identify immediate needs to resolve the moment of crisis so that the client can continue working on longer term goals. Ethical issues such as confidentiality, self-determination, mandated reporting or profession duty often arise to create potential ethical dilemmas about how to respond.

For this Discussion, reflect on a crisis that may occur in the life of a client with whom you work. Consider the ethical issues within the case that you identify.

By Day 4

Introduction

For this assessment, you will use the CapraTek: Training Needs Assessment simulation. Using this simulation, featuring a fictitious technology organization, will require you to make some decisions about which employees to gather data from, and about what data to utilize and interpret in your assessment. The goal of developing this data is to drive employee performance in the direction of the organizational strategy.

Note: The assessments in this course build upon each other to form a training and development program, so you are strongly encouraged to complete them in sequence.

The first and most critical step of designing a training and development program is to conduct a training needs analysis (or assessment) to identify actual training needs. This is often referred to as a gap analysis because the gap is the difference between what the employees currently know and what they need to know.

In developing a training and development program, you often interview subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather data on training needs. This assessment asks you to imagine yourself in the role of a training consultant who will be developing a training program, and the simulation’s design demonstrates how to create strong questions for SMEs and how to use the interviews to obtain key documentation and data about training needs.

In this assessment, you will practice performing a training needs analysis (TNA) by selecting whom to interview and deciding what data to gather in order to identify gaps in trainee knowledge. You will summarize your findings using a TNA format. Include what trainees should know (or be able to do), and then using your findings, identify what they currently know (or can do). The gap will determine the learning objectives on a specific topic that the trainees should meet during the program you design and develop in this course.
