what is the impact of implementing the American Heart Association Diet and Lifestyle recommendations, compared to standard care, on body weight in 8-10 weeks?

Begin with your Project Practice Question in PICOT format. Then use each bullet point as a heading in bold and place your response underneath. Please use this form as a Template.

· Practice Question in PICOT Format

In overweight adult patients in a primary care clinic, what is the impact of implementing the American Heart Association Diet and Lifestyle recommendations, compared to standard care, on body weight in 8-10 weeks?

****Use the bullet points below as headings, answer each question separately in a complete paragraph, and do not mix any answers. Include citations where it is pertinent ***

· In Week 2, your formative evaluation plan reveals that a few staff did not implement the evidence-based intervention as intended. What is your next step?

· In your simulated Case Study, some staff state, “I am too busy” or “I do not see a need for change since the ‘way we have always done it works fine.” How will you address this?

· You identify that stakeholders were not included in the project planning meetings and are resisting change. How will you work with these stakeholders to turn their resistance into support?

· Thinking about a live implementation, are additional resources necessary for a successful implementation?  If so, what are those resources?

Is this policy ethical? Why or why not?

Prior to beginning work on this discussion, review the  NAEYC’s Code of Conduct and Statement of Commitment. (Links to an external site.)

You are quickly impressing your lead teacher and director. Your director sees such promise in you that she has asked you to help her prepare for an upcoming staff meeting. Although you are nervous, you are excited for the opportunity, and you truly want to impress them!

The director has been made aware that a few policies are not being enforced or were not made clear. She wants you to help her tackle this issue in the upcoming faculty meeting. You have heard a few people complaining about these specific policies, so you are excited to tackle the project. You hope that your contribution to the faculty meeting can help get everyone on the same page.

As you dig into the policies, you begin to realize that some policies aren’t followed because some staff believe these policies do not benefit the children and do not wish to engage with them. You have an ethical responsibility to your colleagues, children, families, and community to advocate against policies that do not benefit the children, so you must carefully consider these policies before presenting at the staff meeting.

Policy #1: Instruction will not change from student to student. All students are to be treated like equals and instructions will not be modified under any circumstances. Often times in life accommodations aren’t made and we want to set our children up for success.

Policy #2: On water day, each kid must have a pair of water shoes that are rubber bottoms and purchased by the parents. If the child does not have them, they are not allowed to engage with water play and must remain in the classroom while their peers are outside.

Before you write your response, make sure to review Chapter 10 of the Gadzikowski (2013) text, in regard to advocacy and the NAEYC Code of Conduct and Statement of Commitment to be clear on your obligations as an early childhood professional. In your discussion, answer the following questions for both policies individually:

· Is this policy ethical? Why or why not?

· If it is ethical, how will you get all staff on the same page and begin to enforce the policy? Be specific and consider revising the policy slightly to get more staff “buy in.”

· If it is not ethical, how do you plan to be an advocate? Be specific with your step-by-step approach and address who you will contact and what your plan is to bring awareness.

How do race and ethnicity influence health for this group?

Select an ethnic minority group that is represented in the United States (American Indian/Alaskan Native, Asian American, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander). Using health information available from Healthy People, the CDC, and other relevant government websites, analyze the health status for this group.

In a paper of 1,000-1,250 words, compare and contrast the health status of your selected minority group to the national average. Include the following:

1. Describe the ethnic minority group selected. Describe the current health status of this group. How do race and ethnicity influence health for this group?

2. What are the health disparities that exist for this group? What are the nutritional challenges for this group?

3. Discuss the barriers to health for this group resulting from culture, socioeconomics, education, and sociopolitical factors.

4. What health promotion activities are often practiced by this group?

5. Describe at least one approach using the three levels of health promotion prevention (primary, secondary, and tertiary) that is likely to be the most effective in a care plan given the unique needs of the minority group you have selected. Provide an explanation of why it might be the most effective choice.

6. What cultural beliefs or practices must be considered when creating a care plan? What cultural theory or model would be best to support culturally competent health promotion for this population? Why?

Insurance coding and billing is complex, but it boils down to how to accurately apply a code, or CPT (current procedural terminology), to the service that you provided. The payer then reimburses the service at a certain rate. As a provider, you will have to understand what codes to use and what documentation is necessary to support coding.

For this Assignment, you will review evaluation and management (E/M) documentation for a patient and perform a crosswalk of codes from DSM-5-TR to ICD-10.

To Prepare
  • Review this      week’s Learning Resources on coding, billing, reimbursement.
  • Review the      E/M patient case scenario provided.
The Assignment
  • Assign DSM-5-TR and      ICD-10 codes to services based upon the patient case scenario.

Then, in 1–2 pages address the following. You may add your narrative answers to these questions to the bottom of the case scenario document and submit altogether as one document.

  • Explain      what pertinent information, generally, is required in documentation to      support DSM-5-TR and ICD-10 coding.
  • Explain      what pertinent documentation is missing from the case scenario, and what      other information would be helpful to narrow your coding and billing      options.
  • Finally,      explain how to improve documentation to support coding and billing for      maximum reimbursement.
how would you handle hiring a new employee with less experience but higher pay compared to the current team?

As business managers, it is essential to keep a company profitable. With inflation, many roles are beginning to payout more than before. So how would you handle hiring a new employee with less experience but higher pay compared to the current team?

A couple of things to think about:

  • Current compensation for the current team?
  • Your department budget.
  • Would increased pay for the current team lead to future layoffs?

Write a 4-5 page evidence-based proposal to support the need for a nurse informaticist in an organization who would focus on improving health care outcomes.

Write a 4-5 page evidence-based proposal to support the need for a nurse informaticist in an organization who would focus on improving health care outcomes.

Introduction

As you begin to prepare this assessment, you are encouraged to complete the Team Perspectives of the Nurse Informaticist activity. Completion of this will help you succeed with the assessment as you explore the nurse informaticist’s role from the different perspectives of the health care team. Completing activities is also a way to demonstrate engagement.

Nurses at the baccalaureate level in all practice areas are involved in nursing informatics through interaction with information management and patient care technologies. Nurses must not only demonstrate knowledge of and skills in health information and patient care technologies, but also how to use these tools at the bedside and organizational levels. Moreover, nurses need to recognize how information gathered from various health information sources can impact decision making at the national and state regulatory levels.

Scenario

For this assessment, assume you are a nurse attending a meeting of your state’s nurses association. A nurse informaticist conducted a presentation on her role and its impact on positive patient and organizational outcomes in her workplace. You realize that your organization is undergoing many technological changes. You believe this type of role could provide many benefits to your organization.

You decide to pursue proposing a nurse informaticist role in your organization. You speak to your chief nursing officer (CNO) and human resources (HR) manager, who ask you to prepare a 4–5 page evidence-based proposal to support the new role. In this way, they can make an informed decision as to whether the addition of such a role could justify the return on investment (ROI). They need your proposal before an upcoming fiscal meeting. This is not an essay, but instead, it is a proposal to create a new Nurse Informaticist position.

One important part of this assessment is the justification of the need for a nurse informaticist in a health care organization and references from relevant and timely scholarly or professional resources to support the justification for creating this nurse informaticist position. The term justify means to show or prove that the nurse informaticist position brings value to the organization. This justification must include evidence from the literature to support that this position will provide a return on investment for the organization.

Preparation

To successfully prepare for this assessment, you will need to complete these preparatory activities:

· Review assessment resources and activities.

. Conduct independent research on the nursing knowledge and skills necessary to interact with health information and patient care technology.

. Focus your research on current resources available through peer-reviewed articles, professional websites, government websites, professional blogs, wikis, job boards, and so on.

· Consult the  BSN Program Library Research Guide  for help in identifying scholarly and authoritative sources.

· Interview peers in your network who are considered information technology experts.

. Ask them about how information technology advances are impacting patient care at the bedside, at the organizational level, and beyond.

Proposal Format

The chief nursing officer (CNO) and human resources (HR) manager have asked you to include the following headings in your proposal and to be sure to address the bullets following each heading:

Nursing Informatics and the Nurse Informaticist

· What is nursing informatics?

· What is the role of the nurse informaticist?

Nurse Informaticists and Other Health Care Organizations

· What is the experience of other health care organizations with nurse informaticists?

· How do these nurse informaticists interact with the rest of the nursing staff and the interdisciplinary team?

IMPACT OF FULL NURSE ENGAGEMENT IN HEALTH CARE TECHNOLOGY

· How does fully engaging nurses in health care technology impact:

. Patient care?

. Protected health information (security, privacy, and confidentiality)?

. In this section, you will explain evidence-based strategies that the nurse informaticist and interdisciplinary team can use to effectively manage patients’ protected health information, particularly privacy, security, and confidentiality. Evidence-based means that they are supported by evidence from scholarly sources.

· Workflow?

· Costs and return on investment?

Opportunities and Challenges

· What are the opportunities and challenges for nurses and the interdisciplinary team with the addition of a nurse informaticist role?

. How can the interdisciplinary team collaborate to improve quality care outcomes through technology?

Summary of Recommendations

· What are 3–4 key takeaways from your proposal about the recommended nurse informaticist role that you want the CNO and the HR manager to remember?

. This is the section where the justification for the implementation of the nursing informaticist role is addressed. Remember to include evidence from the literature to support your recommendation.

Additional Requirements

· Written communication: Ensure written communication is free of errors that detract from the overall message.

· Submission length: 4–5 double-spaced pages, in addition to title and references pages.
