The Shannon-Weaver model identified three basic challenges to effective communication. A technical problem is related to the limits of the technology to transmit information accurately. A semantic problem is a challenge in finding precise meaning—does the recipient understand what the sender was trying to say? The effectiveness problem is related to how the meaning of the message affects the recipient’s behavior—does it cause the recipient to act in the way the sender intended?

The transactional model identified three types of noise that interferes with receiving and processing messages, including external noise, physiological/biological interference, and psychological noise.

The field of public health plays a major role in the promotion of health, prevention of illnesses and empowerment of people to manage illnesses as well as disabilities. Some of the main reasons why I would like to pursue public health is the need to secure a job. There is increased demand for public health workers. The profession as well involves various professionals (Dolley, 2018). As a public health worker one can choose to work in schools, government or private firms. International and local organizations as well require public health workers. I also look forward to finding solutions to community and global health issues. I look forward to enjoying the challenges related with fighting illnesses and developing prevention programs.
Course Overview
Strategic planning for public health involves understanding the needs of a given population, their illness and their required care.organizational change strategies involves creation of an environment in which employee health and safety is required, supported and promoted in the work environment. Strategic goals in public health mainly involve defining a community healthy board’s roles, priorities, and direction in three to five years. It identifies what the firm plans on achieving and how the firm may attain it (Chen, 2018). Communication is another aspect that is required in the profession. It allows health care givers to create a rapport with the patients, create effective health information and work effectively with all members of the team and the people.
Evaluation of the Current Skill level of the Course Competencies
In regard to the ability to create a strategic plan as a public health officer, I believe that at the basic level. I am not entirely knowledgeable on the skills to develop a strategic plan. I need to learn various strategies to develop a proper strategic plan. I am as well at the basic level at organizational change strategies (Maina, et al., 2019). Currently I only know that organizational change involves creating a working environment in which employee health and safety is valued, supported and promoted through workplace health programs, policies, benefits and environment changes is an essential part of organization change. I believe that organizations change when people are in them. I am at an intermediate level in proposing human, fiscal, as well as other resources to attain a strategic goal. I need to learn how to propose techniques for health improvement as well as elimination of health inequalities through organizing stakeholders which may include researchers, practitioners, community leaders as well as other partners.
I am at an intermediate level in regard to cultivation of new resources and revenue streams to attain strategic goals. I have knowledge on how to create new business models. I have experience on how to set monthly sales targets; establishing steady and transitional goals; arranging the goals in regard to their complexity; establishing activity goals; and monitoring progress of the set targets. I am at an Intermediate level with communication of public health science to diverse stakeholders which include people in health literacy, in order to influence behavior and policies. I have good communication skills in regard to use of etiquette, good communications skills and honesty.
Personal Learning Goals
The main reason behind taking public health is to prevent sickness and diseases and assist people to adopt healthy behaviors. Therefore I need to get to an expert level in regard to communication skills. Through good communication skills, I will have the ability to reduce damage and prevent widespread illnesses (Wu, et al., 2019). I also have poor skills on strategic planning. It aids in guiding and strengthening a community health boards’ capacity to conduct public health function. Through proper strategic planning ability I will have the ability to make appropriate decisions, allocate human and financial resources.

Chapter 3 of our text discusses Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS), IDEA, and
504 and the general education program.
Part 1: Invitation for Learning
Visit a local school and see how the Response to Intervention procedure is organized.
Conduct interviews with the site administrator and a service provider (e.g., teacher) to find out
the types of interventions used, the duration of the interventions, and the process that follows
once the interventions have been in place for a reasonable period of time. Find out their plan
of action for non-responders. This is very INFORMAL; interviews may even be conducted
online or over the phone, just so long as you get a clear indication of how PBIS is utilized and
more than enough information to complete Part 2. You may want to ask the questions below
during the interview/class visits. A summary of this experience is required in Part 2.
