This activity reflects the relationship between your belief and the actions that come from that belief. For example, if your belief is that you are morally obligated to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, you would look for places or institutions that embody this belief by putting it into action. In this case, CASA would be an organization where adults represent children who are abused or neglected. NAMI is another organization, where adults help those with mental health issues.

To explore where you see your belief in action, answer the following questions, for your initial post.

3.  With your belief now situated in a social context, where do you see people acting (behaving) based on your belief? Try to name at least three ways or places.

 An entrepreneur is someone who decides to either create a new product or an improved product with the purpose of filling a need in the market that is not being met. The entrepreneur assumes the risk of marketing this new product or service but also benefits from revenues earned. There are other benefits as well. The entrepreneur is their own boss and can embrace creative freedom. Entrepreneurs take pride in what they are doing and are passionate about their venture. They are also responsible for getting the word out about their new product to build brand awareness. One of the most powerful tools to accomplish this in the digital world is through social media platforms.

Discussion Topic: To Drink or Not to Drink

For a long time mothers have been warned about drinking any amount of alcohol while pregnant for fear of their child being born with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS). ”There is no known safe amount of alcohol use during pregnancy or while trying to get pregnant. There is also no safe time during pregnancy to drink. All types of alcohol are equally harmful, including all wines and beer. When a pregnant woman drinks alcohol, so does her baby.” (citation is missing). However, over the past few years reports are starting to come out stating that a couple of glasses of wine a week during pregnancy is okay. In fact, some doctors are saying this can be healthy for the baby because it relaxes the mother and lowers her level of stress.Before you start this week’s discussion find at least one article from the online library database about FAS and pregnancy.  See the search method below. Assignment 6: In Chapter 5, Topic “The STAIR Tool” we look at one approach to help investigators manage an investigation. In at least one (1-2) pages:

(1) discuss the STAIR model/tool from our readings and identify the 5 general elements of that model;

(2) pick at least one the general elements to discuss in more detail; and

(3) give an opinion at the end of your paper as to whether you think you would find this overall process helpful to conducting an investigation and explain why or why not.  

For example, within SITUATION there are 4 elements included in that step – after defining the purpose for the SITUATION step, discuss the 4 more specific steps and explain what you think would happen if an investigator failed to take those steps. Finally, looking at the overall STAIR model and the steps is includes, express an opinion as to whether you think this is a useful approach and support your opinion.
