Develop a project plan including the critical elements of project  scope, priorities, work breakdown structure (WBS), communication plan,  and a project network to ensure effective implementation.

Week 8 Assignment – Project Proposal: WBS and Project Schedule

Overview

In the assignment due in Week 5, you  defined key portions of your project. Now, it is time to develop a work  breakdown structure (WBS) and project schedule for your project. Note: Please use your project from the Week 5 assignment to complete this assignment. For this assignment, you will  create Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). To create your WBS, you may use  MS Word, MS Excel, Visio, or any other visual format that allows for  graphical elements to be included. (See Figure 4.4 from Chapter 4 of  your Project Management: The Managerial Process textbook). Alternatively, you may use a coded format using MS Word. (See Exhibit 4.1 – Coding the WBS from Chapter 4 of your Project Management: The Managerial Process textbook as an example. The example is in MS Project format, but the same could be done in MS Excel).

Instructions

Each of the following should be included in your WBS submission:

  1. Create a WBS which contains graphical elements of the project  scope including project, major deliverables, and supporting  deliverables. WBS should be easy to read and contain consistent  formatting throughout.
  2. Create a depiction of the project within the WBS.
    • One Level 1 is provided describing the complete project.
    • Three Level 2s are provided describing major deliverables.
    • Three Level 3s are provided describing supporting deliverables.
    • Two Level 4s providing the lowest manageable responsibility level.
  3. For each of the identified deliverables (identified in the four  levels from item #2), create a project schedule containing all  activities from levels 1–4. Each activity should contain a start and end  date and list resources required to complete the project.
  4. Provide a minimum of three pieces of information that need to be  communicated to stakeholders. For each of the three pieces—which creates  an example of a project network— you should address who will be  targeted; when they will receive the communication; what will  be communicated; and how it will be communicated.

The specific course learning outcome associated with this assignment is:

  • Develop a project plan including the critical elements of project  scope, priorities, work breakdown structure (WBS), communication plan,  and a project network to ensure effective implementation.

    B. Name the resource (database)  which housed this practice guideline.
    C. State the strength of the guideline based on the validity and reliability of its recommendation.
    D. Answer all of the questions listed in Box 8.4 Rapid Critical Appraisal checklist on page 245 of the Melnyk text to evaluate the attributes of the guideline.
  2. After listening to the AGREE II overview tutorial and tutorial/ practice, note the necessary steps to evaluate a guideline. Find one article which the authors used the AGREE II tool to evaluate a practice guideline.
[Go to the library and use a medical/health database – use the search terms “practice guidelines” and “Agree tool. There are numerous articles.]  (like this one I can find an article and send you the paper)
Summarize the following about the article you chose for discussion:
    A. What is the citation of the article?
    B. What were the findings and conclusion?
    C. What was the review rated?
    D. What was the overall assessment of the quality of the guideline?
    E. Did the guideline clearly present the author/s’ recommendations?

Based on the information provided, determine if retesting with the MMPI-3 is recommended at this time and explain your rationale.

Prior to beginning work on this discussion, read Chapter 12 in the textbook and the required articles for this week. For this discussion you will take on the role of a psychologist assigned a case in which the client has a legal concern. For your initial post, select one of the three forensic case scenarios below and follow the instructions.

Forensic Scenario One: Mr. W (Attempting to Obtain Legal Guardianship Over an Elderly Parent): Attorney Mr. X referred Mr. W for an evaluation of his decision-making capacity. Mr. W’s children do not agree with the findings from a prior evaluation and have requested a second opinion. Review the PSY640 Week Six Clinical Neuropsychological Report for Mr. W (Links to an external site.), and begin your post with a one-paragraph summary of the test data you deem most significant. Utilize assigned readings and any additional scholarly and/or peer-reviewed sources needed to develop a list of assessment instruments and evaluation procedures to administer to the client in addition to those used in the current evaluation. Justify your assessment choices by providing an evaluation of the ethical and professional practice standards and an analysis of the reliability and validity of the instruments. Note: It is common for there to be a delay between the time a test publisher updates a test and the time the textbook and other authors can update their information about the new version of the test. Be sure to do online research to make sure you are recommending the most current version of the test. If there is a newer version than the version discussed in the textbook or other readings, present information about the newest version.

Forensic Scenario Two, Mr. M (Not Guilty Plea): Your client, Mr. M., was referred by the court for an evaluation of his mental condition after his attorney entered a plea of not guilty on his behalf. Review the Case Description: Mr. M—Forensic, Pre-trial Criminal Score Report (Links to an external site.), and begin your post with a one-paragraph summary of the test data you deem most significant. Based on the information provided, determine if retesting with the MMPI-3 is recommended at this time and explain your rationale. Utilize assigned readings and any additional scholarly and/or peer-reviewed sources needed to develop a list of assessment instruments and evaluation procedures in addition to the MMPI-2-RF and/or the MMPI-3 to administer to the client.

Forensic Scenario Three, Ms. X (Personal Injury Lawsuit): Ms. X was referred for a forensic neuropsychological evaluation in connection with a personal injury lawsuit she had filed. Review the Case Description: Ms. X—Forensic, Neuropsychological Score Report, (Links to an external site.) and begin your post with a one-paragraph summary of the test data you deem most significant.

Determine if you can verify or refute the research department’s claim.

The research department of an appliance manufacturing firm has developed a new bimetallic thermal sensor for its toaster. The new bimetallic thermal sensor can sense the temperature of the bread and move the lever arm to activate the switch. The research department claims that the new bimetallic thermal sensor will reduce appliance returns under the one-year full warranty by 2%–6%. To determine if the claim can be supported, the testing department selects a group of the toasters manufactured with the new bimetallic thermal sensor and a group with the old thermal sensor and subjects them to a normal year’s worth of wear. Out of 250 toasters tested with the new bimetallic thermal sensor, 8 would have been returned. Seventeen would have been returned out of the 250 toasters with the old thermal sensor. As the manager of the appliance manufacturing process, use a statistical procedure to verify or refute the research department’s claim.

Instructions

Create 8–10 slides, including a cover and a sources list, for a presentation to the director of the manufacturing plant in which you:

  1. Summarize the problem with the appliance manufacturing firm’s toaster.
  2. Propose the statistical inference to use to solve the problem. Support your decision using a scholarly reference.
  3. Using Excel:
    • Develop a flowchart for the proposed statistical inference, including specific steps.
    • Compute all statistical calculations.
  4. Place your flowchart in a slide.
  5. Determine if you can verify or refute the research department’s claim.
  6. Choose sources that are credible, relevant, and appropriate. Cite each source listed on your source page at least one time within your assignment. For help with research, writing, and citation, access the library or review library guides.

Instructions

Write a 3–5 page paper in which you:

  • Defend the purpose of technical evaluations, including the importance of integrity, fairness, and the factors to determine the competitive range, to inform the proposal selection process.
  • Create an outline of the final technical evaluation report.
  • Determine the factors to consider when evaluating price reasonableness.
  • Examine different methods of price analysis; include which price analysis method is best for the scenario provided and support the selection of this method.
  • Use at least three quality academic resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and other similar websites do not qualify as academic resources.

This course requires the use of Strayer Writing Standards. For assistance and information, please refer to the Strayer Writing Standards link in the left-hand menu of your course. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.

Briefly explain role of assessment in diagnosis.

Below is the written transcript

Psychological assessment guides are created by psychology professionals to provide the public with accurate and authoritative information appropriate for their current needs. Information available to the public about psychological testing and assessment varies widely depending on the professional creating it, the purpose of the assessment, and the intended audience. When professionals effectively educate the public on the howwhat, and why behind assessments and the strengths and limitations of commonly used instruments, potential clients are in a better position to be informed users of assessment products and services. The Assessment Guides developed in this course will be designed to provide the lay public with accurate and culturally relevant information to aid them in making informed decisions about psychological testing. Students will develop their Guides with the goal of educating readers to be informed participants in the assessment process.

There is no required template for the development of the Assessment Guide. Students are encouraged to be creative while maintaining the professional appearance of their work. While based on scholarly information, the Guide should not read like a research paper. It is to be written like a brochure a professional might give a patient or client who is being referred for testing. The Guide must be reader-friendly (sixth- to ninth-grade reading level) and easy to navigate, and it must include a combination of text, images, and graphics to engage readers in the information provided. Throughout their Guides, students will provide useful examples and definitions as well as questions readers should ask their practitioners. To ensure accuracy, students are expected to use only scholarly and peer-reviewed sources for the information in the development of their Guides.

Students will begin their Guides with a general overview of assessment, reasons for assessment referrals, and the importance of the role of each individual in the process. Within each of the remaining sections, students will describe the types of assessments that their readers may encounter, the purposes of each type of assessment, the different skills and abilities the instruments measure, the most valid and reliable uses of the measures, and limitations of the measures. A brief section will be included to describe the assessment process, the types of professionals who conduct the assessments, and what to expect during the assessment meetings.

The Assessment Guide must include the following sections:

Table of Contents (Portrait orientation must be used for the page layout of this section.)
In this one-page section, students must list the following subsections and categories of assessments.

  • Introduction and Overview
  • Tests of Intelligence
