Define marginal cost of capital.

Respond to the following scenario with your thoughts, ideas, and comments. Be substantive and clear, and use research to reinforce your ideas. (750-1000 words)

Mary Francis has just returned to her office after attending preliminary discussions with investment bankers. Her last meeting regarding the intended capital structure of Apix went well, and she calls you into her office to discuss the next steps.

“We will need to determine the required return for our intended project so that we have a decision criteria defined for the project,” she says.
“Do you have the information I need to describe capital structure and to calculate the weighted average cost of capital (WACC)?” you ask.
“I do,” she smiles. “We can determine the target WACC for Apix Printing Inc., given these assumptions,” she says as she hands you a piece of paper that says the following:
Weights of 40% debt and 60% common equity (no preferred equity)
A 35% tax rate
Cost of debt is 8%
Beta of the company is 1.5
Risk-free rate is 2%
Return on the market is 11% “Great,” you say. “Thanks.”
“Be sure to indicate how these costs of capital might be used to determine the feasibility of the capital project,” Mary says. “I want your recommendation about which is more appropriate to apply to project evaluation, too. Let me know what you think.”
“One more thing,” she says as she stands up to signal the end of the meeting. “You did a good job with the explanations that you provided Luke the other day. Would you have time to define marginal cost of capital for me so I can include it in my discussions with investors? You seem to have a knack for making things accessible to nonfinancial folks.”
“No problem,” you say. “I’m glad my explanations are so useful!”

For this assignment, complete the following:

  • Describe capital structure.
  • Determine the WACC given the above assumptions.
  • Indicate how these might be useful to determine the feasibility of the capital project.
  • Recommend which is more appropriate to apply to project evaluation.
  • Define marginal cost of capital

What needs to be included with your CHE application?

For this week’s assignment, begin by reviewing the 2018 CHE Applicant Information Guides and the NIH General Instructions for NIH and Other PHS Agency Application Packages found in this week’s resources. Then, schedule a face-to-face meeting with your professor to discuss the program you have selected concerning how it fits within CHE priorities. In this meeting, be prepared to discuss answers to the following questions:

What program will you utilize? What does the program involve? What is the intervention? What is your connection to it? What population will you use your program? Where will your program be held? What are the various resources you will need to successfully implement this program?

How does your program fit with the funding priorities of CHE and the NIH? How does your program fit within the psychology context?

What needs to be included with your CHE application? What are the parts of the letter of intent (LOI) vs. the Stage II full application? What does the NIH require?

Ask your professor any questions you have about grant writing.

If you are unable to schedule a Skype or telephone meeting with your professor, you are required to submit a response paper in which you briefly respond to the questions above or you can create a video note in NCUOne.

How do these passages relate to modern animal husbandry methods?

Scripture tells us to take care of our animals and not cause unnecessary pain.

Proverbs 12:10 – Good people take care of their animals, but even the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel.
Exodus 23:5 – If you see that your enemy’s donkey has fallen because its load is too heavy, do not leave it there. You must help your enemy get the donkey back on its feet.
Proverbs 27:23 – Be sure you know how your sheep are doing, and pay attention to the condition of your cattle.

Deuteronomy 25:4 says that, “Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain.” In other words, do not let it be hungry when there is food around it. Paul quotes this in 1 Corinthians 9:9 and 1 Timothy 5:18.

How does a virtuous leader know how much information is enough to make a wise decision?

Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest. – Ecclesiastes11:4

There are two extremes managers can fall into. One type believes that you need lots of information to make a good decision. This manager gathers data, facts, and information and continually evaluates his or her beliefs as to the best course of action based on new information coming in. This delays making the decision. The other manager goes by intuition and “gut” feeling. This manager makes decisions quickly without waiting for more information to come in.

Why Study Families? Give a detailed description of why it is important to study families in healthcare

Why Study Families?

Rowe (2018, chapter 3, page 54) states, “If there is one ‘mantra’ about family life in the last half century, it is that the family has undergone tremendous change. “

Family nursing comprises a philosophy and a way of interacting with clients that affects how nurses collect information, intervene with patients, advocate for patients, and approach spiritual care with families.

This philosophy and practice incorporates the following assumptions:

  • Health affects all members of families
  • Health and illness are family events
  • Families influence the process and outcome of health care
  • All health care practices, attitudes, beliefs, behaviors, and decisions are made within the context of larger family and societal systems
