Discuss how you can address these assumptions to ensure that feedback loops remain effective.

TOPIC: Strategies and Ethics

As the director of the local public health department, you are preparing to conduct a town hall presentation. In it you will communicate the direction of the strategic plan. Your audience will include collaborative partners (invested stakeholders) such as academicians, health professionals, state health department staff, representatives from affected communities, and representatives from nongovernmental organizations.

Recall that your Stakeholder Involvement in Evaluation Planning discussion in Unit 5 reviewed the planning and evaluation cycle (Figure 11-1 in your textbook). In addition, in that discussion you explained where in the cycle and how you would seek stakeholder involvement in evaluation planning. The town hall presentation is one such opportunity to do so.

For this ASSIGN, do the following:

· Identify the two specific strategies you described in the Stakeholder Involvement in Evaluation Planning discussion in Unit 5 to obtain active involvement in the development of an evaluation plan.

· Align these strategies, and specifically name the types of stakeholders (for example, academicians, health professionals, state health department staff, representatives from affected communities, representatives from nongovernmental organizations, et cetera) who would be actively engaged in them.

· Identify the likely assumptions of the named stakeholders regarding the health of the community.

· Discuss how you can address these assumptions to ensure that feedback loops remain effective.

· Include THREE academic references above 2017

· NO CONSIDERATION FOR PLAGIARISM

· APA FORMAT AND INDEX CITATION

· PLEASE WRITE FROM PUBLIC HEALTH PERSPECTIVE

How does unique selling position (USP) relate to the Product when using the Marketing Mix in digital marketing?

The four Ps of marketing are productplaceprice, and promotion. These four elements are integrated into the business plan of all businesses. These elements are described as follows:

  • Product: This is something that you can touch and feel, or a service rendered. This is the “thing” that a business is trying to market to customers.
  • Price: If the price is too high, customers may look for a lower price and purchase from a competitor. If it is too low, the business may not make enough revenue to continue to grow.
  • Promotion: If a business does no promotion, the word does not get out about the products for customers to purchase.
  • Place: If the business does not choose the right place or manage its supply chain, the products will not get to the customers.

These four Ps of marketing have not changed over the years. The way a business manages its four Ps has to evolve with technologies. The Internet and smartphones have put the world of products in the customers’ hands to take with them wherever they go. There are Web sites, social media platforms, and information being disseminated constantly. It is important for businesses to adjust and integrate the four Ps of marketing in these platforms to meet the wants and needs of today’s tech-savvy consumers.

Read the following article to better understand the marketing mix in the digital marketing world: Digital Marketing Mix and the Four Ps: An Integrated Marketing Approach For Business Professionals

Using what you have learned, use the following questions to guide your response:

  • According to the article, “A marketer’s first task is to understand what the product has to offer or its unique selling position (USP). How does unique selling position (USP) relate to the Product when using the Marketing Mix in digital marketing?
  • When considering Place in the digital Marketing Mix, what are the biggest differences from traditional marketing practices when considering your marketing channels?
  • Which of these differences is the most important to you and why?

How are these data used by companies?

Data analytics plays an important role in marketing management. There are many types of data to be gathered and studied. Structured data are quantitative data that can be stored in a fixed format such as a spreadsheet or list. These data can be easily processed by computers. Examples of structured data are the following:

  • E-mail address
  • Home address
  • Age
  • Gender
  • Credit card number

Unstructured data are not easily put into categories. Examples of unstructured data are the following:

  • Internet search results
  • Body of an e-mail
  • Data from social media sites, such as Facebook or LinkedIn
  • Photos
  • Text messages
  • Voicemails

Semi-structured data are a combination of both structured and unstructured data. An example would be an e-mail. The to and from fields would be considered structured data that are easily categorized, and the body of the e-mail would be unstructured, which is not as easily categorized. All of these data combined, along with other types, contribute to big data.

Watch the following video for more information about big data and analytics in marketing: The Importance of Big Data and Analytics in Marketing

Using what you have learned, use the following questions to guide your response:

  • How are these data used by companies? For example, a company that makes video games for Xbox or PlayStation can track the common actions that their players take before making an in-game purchase.
  • Describe 2 ethical dilemmas that business organizations face when using big data. For example, sharing private customer information with your best friend without the customer’s consent would be a potential ethical dilemma because that is private information held by the business.

What key terms or experiences would you include in your resume, cover letter, or interview to showcase your relevant knowledge and skills related to the job posting?

When taking courses (or any other kind of professional development experience), it is important to think about how your new knowledge and skills can be applied to your career. Similarly, it is very important to consider what jobs this experience may help you get, and how to show off your newly acquired expertise. In this discussion, you will collaborate with peers to share observations, suggestions, and helpful tips related to job searching.

First, take some time to explore a few job postings for your ideal career. The following websites may be helpful to use:

As you explore, take note of key terms, requirements, preferences, and skills that are listed that relate to knowledge and skills covered in this course. Then, for your initial post briefly address the following questions:

  • What is your ideal career, and what about it interests you?
  • When exploring job postings related to your ideal career, what knowledge and skills were listed that directly relate to this course?
  • What key terms or experiences would you include in your resume, cover letter, or interview to showcase your relevant knowledge and skills related to the job posting?
  • Were there certain modules, topics, or skills from this course that you feel were especially relevant for your ideal career?
who is liable? And to whom?

Abby is a 27-year-old teacher who wants to change careers and it has always been her desire to own a florist’s shop. She goes to see Craig, her local banker, and they discuss the necessary business matters. Since Abby is relatively inexperienced, she depends on Craig to give her lots of advice—he talks to her about her business organization, capitalization, insurance, etc. This necessarily involves lots of time together and one thing leads to another, and they begin to date. Love has bloomed.

Meanwhile, plans for the business progress. Abby leases a very cute former gas station on a yearly basis. She borrows a total of $50,000 from Craig’s bank and uses the money to set up inventory, secure insurance, etc. Throughout the process, she and Craig talk constantly about all aspects of the shop—he loves roses and wants her to traffic exclusively in that flower. Sometimes these meetings take place during the workday and some after 5 or on Saturdays at the shop. Craig is also present sometimes when she meets with vendors or potential clients.

Abby rents the gas station from the estate of Linda Heart. Linda had inherited the gas station from her father, who ran the gas station in the 1950’s. The station had been closed since 1960, and Linda had forgotten about it. When Linda’s obituary appeared in the local paper, Abby approached the estate about leasing the property and the deal was struck. The lease provides that Abby can rent the property with an option to buy for the year that the attorneys figure it will take to get the estate fully squared away. After that, Abby will have to buy the property or find a new site.

Abby’s Floral Expressions opens in January 2005, and business is booming. A few problems arise, however—Abby has not made the appropriate arrangements for waste hauling, so for the first few weeks of business, she empties the dead flowers and the water used for the flowers out the back door. The water contains small amounts of commercial fertilizer. Also, since Abby has not really gotten her delivery bugs completely ironed out, she has fertilizer delivered by UPS three days a week in a package from Emma’s Fertilizer.

Business is booming but love has faded. Shortly after the shop really gets going, Craig and Abby break up in a very acrimonious manner.

The worst is yet to come. Kathy, Abby’s next door neighbor and a part-time environmental activist, is distraught that a commercial establishment has opened next to her. She has a condition that makes her hypersensitive to any chemicals and had moved to that quiet neighborhood to get away from any pollutants, etc. One day, she sees Abby dumping dead flowers and water they were in out her back door. She breaks out in hives and quickly calls the EPA and reports that Abby is dumping toxic waste. She also consults her lawyer to see if she has any rights personally.

Unlike many governmental agencies, the EPA is right on the spot within hours! In examining the backyard to see where the flower water was dumped, the inspector pokes down into the ground with a probe. Low and behold, he hears a hollow thump and when the EPA further investigates, they find that there was a gas tank under the building that had been improperly capped in the 50’s, and that gas has been leaking into the ground for the last 40 years. Abby had no idea, nor did Linda’s estate lawyers–after all this time, they have no records to indicate when or who capped the tank.

Every team has the same question—who is liable? And to whom? Your group decisions should contain carefully reasoned legal arguments.

What is one thing we could do to improve on this strategy?

Week 1 Discussion (GRADED)
Must post first.
Instructions:
Please refer to the Discussion Grading Rubric before starting the assignment. Be certain to read the case scenario carefully. Be careful to address each question posed. Include APA formatted in-text citations and a reference list. (In this class, all applicable citations should contain the page or paragraph numbers. The only exceptions are videos or podcasts.)
Use the lettering system indicated below in your memo. Your answers should be listed in sections labeled “A” through “D.”
CASE SCENARIO – PAUL’S DISCOUNT TIRES & REPAIRS BUSINESS STRATEGIC PLAN
It’s a Friday at 4:00, and you are looking at the clock – it’s been a tough week at Paul’s Discount Tires & Repairs business, and the week is not over! The global COVID Pandemic has hit the business hard, and you saw several people working there laid off this week. You feel lucky to be still working as their business consultant!
The business is family-owned and has been in business for over 21 years. The founder of the company, Paul Wilford, started the company as a small tire shop then expanded into service repairs. Now Paul’s grandson, Steve Wilford, runs the company, which has grown to several million in annual revenues over the past couple of years.
Steve Wilford stops by your cubicle. He looks worried and worn out from the long workday. Despite that, he greets you warmly.
“You are taking a course in Strategic Management right now, aren’t you?” Steve asks you.
You reply yes.
“Well, that is great timing,” says Steve, “because I just drafted a 10-year strategy for our business! If I get you a copy, would you mind looking it over during the weekend and giving me your thoughts?”
You tell Steve that you’d be happy to give your input. Within 5 minutes, a one-page document is on your desk. At the top of the page is written “Paul’s Discount Tires & Repairs Strategic Plan.” You start to read it in your remote work office at home.
The basics of the plan are highlighted with the following three (3) bullet points:
Paul’s Discount Tires & Repairs core business will continue providing tires and minor vehicle repair services to our retail customers over the next ten years.
Paul’s Discount Tires & Repairs will beat its competitors by providing the lowest price discount tires, vehicle repairs, exceptional customer service, and quality work.
Paul’s Discount Tires & Repairs culture is rooted in its 21-year history. Paul’s will overcome the setbacks caused by the COVID Pandemic by sticking to its core values and cutting costs wherever necessary. Our people will help get us through these tough times.
You look at the bottom of the page and see a post-it note with questions posed to you by Steve.
What is wrong with this strategy?
What is right about this strategy?
We are the market leader in discount tires and repairs in our city, indicating that we currently have a competitive advantage. Will we sustain it with this strategy?
What is one thing we could do to improve on this strategy?
Directions for Initial Posting:
Write a memo to Steve answering these four questions. Your memo should outline all four questions, and the answers to all four questions should be supported by course materials.

Other Writing Guidelines for this Discussion:
Use the grading rubric while completing the project to ensure all requirements are met to lead to the highest possible grade.
This is a business memo to Steve Wilford, who runs Paul’s Discount Tires & Repairs. Ensure your memo answers all 4 questions and that your writing is concise. There is a balance between providing a robust answer and writing succinctly and to the point.
Third-person writing is required.  The third person means no words such as “I, me, my, we, or us” (first-person writing).
Contractions are not often used in business writing, so do not use them here.
Paraphrase – do not use direct quotation marks. This means that you will put the ideas of an author or article into your own words rather than lift them directly from a source document. You may not use more than four consecutive words from a source document (including the case scenario) or change words in a passage as doing so would require direct quotation marks. Use a passage from a source document by putting it into your own words (paraphrase) and attribute the passage to the source document.  Changing words from a passage does not exclude the passage from having to have quotation marks. If direct quotes are presented, they will not be included in the grading.
Use in-text citations and provide a reference list that contains a reference associated with each in-text citation.
Only course materials (from this course’s content) may be used. Sources other than this course’s ebook or the course materials listed under content will not be considered sources of support.
Provide the page or paragraph number in every in-text citation presented.  Refer to this link for more guidance on how to do this:
In-Text Citations – Including Page or Paragraph Numbers

assemble a task force to design a medication assistance program.

Module 07 Content

You have been invited to assemble a task force to design a medication assistance program. You need to submit a proposal, regarding who you would invite, to the CEO. Consider the perspectives of prescribers, discharge planners, financial navigators, patients, suppliers, book keepers and subsidizers. If you were to seek the input of 5-7 stakeholders, who would you invite to the planning table, and why? Consider the need for a group facilitator. Who would that person be, and why?
Submit a 2-3 page APA style response to this query. Open with a paragraph of purpose, dedicate a paragraph to each stakeholder that you would invite, and close with a summary of what you hope to accomplish with the group, within a designated time frame.
