What happened to change the culture of smoking in Poland?
Evaluating Culture From the Nursing PerspectiveThis week, we will examine a case study about smokers in Poland. As noted in the Center for Global Development and Jassem, Przewozniak, & Zatonski (2014), prior to 1989, Poland had the highest rate of smoking in the world, with three-fourths of all men aged 2060 smoking every day at a rate of 3,500 cigarettes per person per year. It should be noted that 30% of all women smoked every day, as well. This behavior resulted in a life expectancy of about 60 years due to the highest rates of lung cancer in the world and all-time high levels of smoking-related cancers and cardiovascular and respiratory disease. To prepare for this Discussion, you will be required to read Case 14 by the Center for Global Development and complete readings in Stanhope and Lancaster, then respond to the following questions:What happened to change the culture of smoking in Poland?Understanding that we all have bias when discussing health issues and precipitating factors, what social and political factors allowed cigarette smoking to become a part of the Polish culture?Reflecting on your own practice, how do you overcome cultural bias? Do you find it more difficult to deal with some groups than others? How do people use the cultural information that they learn about others? Do you think this leads to stereotyping? Does cultural knowledge influence or change your practice and interaction with others?By Day 3Post your response to this Discussion.Support your response with references from the professional nursing literature.Notes Initial Post: This should be a 3-paragraph (at least 250350 words) response. Be sure to use evidence from the readings and include in-text citations. Utilize essay-level writing practice and skills, including the use of transitional material and organizational frames. Avoid quotes; paraphrase to incorporate evidence into your own writing. A reference list is required. Use the most current evidence (usually ? 5 years old).

Part 1: Pre-assessment and ImplementationFollow these steps for this weeks field experience:From your previous observation in your field experience classroom, you identified 3-5 students, above, at, or below standard achievement in the classroom environment that would benefit from additional learning support. You also identified the standards and unit that your mentor class is currently learning. With this information, complete the Math Pre-Assessment where you develop a pre-assessment in the math content area that aligns to the standards and unit that your mentor teacher shared with you during Clinical Field Experience A. This pre-assessment can be oral, written, or completed through technology. The pre-assessment should identify ho well selected students know the concept and provide data that would allow you to determine learning gaps and needs in order to develop an appropriate lesson to support learning needs.Share the pre-assessment with your mentor teacher and ask for his or her feedback.Administer the pre-assessment that you created with the selected group of students and use the data to prepare for Clinical Field Experience C.Part 2: ReflectionIn 250-500 words, summarize and reflect on your field experience and the steps you took to identify students for the pre-assessment. Consider:How did the pre-assessment provide data to determine the learning gaps and needs of students? What challenges did you face when developing and delivering the pre-assessment?Explain how you will use your findings in your future professional practice.
Discuss how the stock for your company is trending (Tesla). Explain why the stock is in either an uptrend or downtrend.
You may have seen how financial news outlets provide real-time financial market reporting. They often produce stock-market news feeds for traders; these news feeds include a stock chart. The stock chart may include different filters that allow you to see how the stock is performing today or has performed over one or more years. There are many factors that will influence pricing that cant be controlled or predicted accurately. The approaches used to value stocks (determine what the stock is truly worth) are usually theoretical. You should consider what drives stock prices and why.For this discussion, first go to Mergent Online. Find the pricing chart under the Company Details tab, then click on Pricing Summary for your selected company (Tesla). This is the company you have selected for your Project Two assignment. What social determinants create their vulnerable status?
Conduct a Windshield Survey in a section of your community. Instructions for the survey can be found in Stanhope and Lancaster (2020) on page 383, Table 17.5. As you notice, conducting a Windshield Survey requires that you either walk around or drive around a particular section of the community and take notes about what you observe. A Windshield Survey cannot be conducted by reviewing websites or Google Earth only. It requires actually taking a look at the selected area of the community. This survey should be focused on the problem and population you have selected for your practicum project. If you choose, for example, obesity among Hispanic schoolchildren, you might want to locate a section of the community where many Hispanic children live, or you might want to conduct the Windshield Survey around where Hispanic children attend school. If Hispanic children are not found in a specific section of your community (e.g., Chinatown in San Francisco or Harlem in New York), then you may select the section of the community where you live or work but pay particular attention to your practicum population and practicum problem as you conduct a survey of the community as viewed through the eyes of the public health nurse.By Day 7 of Week 3Introduction to the community, including the name of the community and any interesting or historical facts you would like to add about where you livePhotographs of the selected area of the community that serve as evidence of your observations and hypothesesWindshield Survey findings, including a description of the section of your community that you chose to surveyDescription of the Vulnerable Population and Available ResourcesDemographics of the vulnerable populationWhat social determinants create their vulnerable status? What community strengths exist to assist this population? Conclusions based on Nursing Assessment of the CommunityBased on what you have found, what conclusions can you draw about your community and your selected population for your practicum?

Define strain theory? Why is it a structural issue?
Answer all questions.Define strain theory? Why is it a structural issue? Hint: So, people are taught to want things via culture/mass media, yes! But, how do they get things (materialism)? What happens to people who want things but there is no ladder to reach things. What do they do? They want the goals, the cars, money, etc., they accept the goals, but they have to innovate that is, go around the ladder because there is no ladder, to reach the goals. And, others have many advantages to get things, so for them, not as much structural strain? The ladder is already there for them. Money, social class, inheritance, is there so, no need to go around the ladder.Again, the strain comes from the culture putting it out there to want things, but, no way to get there for many. Except go around the systemIn what ways does do strain theories explain the behavior of street gangs?Which version of strain theories would best explain the over representation of of homicides in inner-city areas?According to general strain theory , what factors would likely lead to criminal behavior?According to Robert K. Merton there are 5 individual modes of adaptation to structural stress, not all of them deviant. People respond to this structural stress in different ways. Explain in detail each of these 5 individual modes of adaptation. DO NOT merely list these modes, but EXPLAIN EACH ONE.Thinking about your own life, what sorts of negative strains have you experiences? How did you deal with them? (negative strain=negative relationships one cannot escape from. Such as when adolescents cannot leave a relationship if they experiences them as noxious. And, if they try to escape from a bad situation they may then be arrested for truancy or running away)Below are some ideas to think about concerning strain theory for example:K.
