Does this add to your understanding of why Native Americans experience poor health indicators? Explain.

Shyla BetzNative American discriminationThe Native American culture is widely discriminated against, and health care is not an exception. In my research, I found that male American Indians and Alaskan Native males have higher death rates than female AI/AN and non-AI/AN males. The lack of healthcare and discrimination are the main causes. Although this article told me that healthcare is a reason, as well as feminine bias, is a cause it didn’t go into detail as to why they occur. After reading Tonya’s post I learned that the Native Americans have some of the worst health care due to a history of poor health, lack of education, and communication barriers. This added to my understanding by informing me that this group can’t even find health insurance companies to cover them because of their poor health outcomes along with them being a racial minority. Next Hannah’s post taught me that there was a US policy put in place that forced NI/AN to relocate from their land. This caused a lot of mental health issues among this group and on top of it, the same policy makes it difficult for them to get the mental health services they need.Unit Project: Native Americans and Health Care Article Analysis and Discussion 20 points fo the total 75 for this Unit ProjectFor the second part of the assignment you will:Read TWO of your classmate’s posts and respond to their research critically examining what you learned from their research. Compute the unit cost of both the basic and deluxe toaster using both the unit-based approach, and the activity-based costing approach.

Compute the unit cost of both the basic and deluxe toaster using both the unit-based approach, and the activity-based costing approach. Use the data and template provided in this file: Part 2 Writing Project.xls . Also, prepare sample budgeted income statements and balance sheets based on the costing data you calculated. You can make your own assumptions related to the number needed to complete these statements. ( For part one I only need a income Statement and a balance sheet).Prepare a 2 page memo addressed to the CFO summarizing your findings, and why you believe the activity-based costing method gives you more useful information to make decisions for the company. Include in the memo at least 4 ratios that you feel highlight your position that activity-based costing is more useful and include your spreadsheet from last week.

What is the maximum number of examinations the firm can require beyond which the exceptional workers would just prefer the regular worker wage?

Adverse Selection in the Labor Market (Parts c – e)Despite protecting itself from the consequences of adverse selection in part b, the employer recognizes that as a result of adverse selection, there is an unconsummated wealth-creating transaction available if it can screen the workers in a way that will reveal their types. They come up with the following hiring policy: Anyone who has passed a certain number, nn, of qualifying examinations will be regarded as an exceptional worker and will be paid $120,000. And anyone who has passed fewer than nn will be regarded as a regular worker and paid $90,000. Suppose that these examinations are tough and require a lot of studying, especially for the regular workers. Specifically, to pass each examination, exceptional workers face a studying cost valued at $1,000, while regular workers face a studying cost valued at $5,000.11) Adverse Selection in the Labor Market (Part c)For the policy to work, it needs to be incentive compatible. The number of examinations required (nn) should be strict enough that the regular workers don’t bother to meet it but not so strict as to discourage even the exceptional workers from attempting it. What is the minimum number of examinations required to ensure that the regular workers don’t find it worth it to reach the requirement? What is the maximum number of examinations the firm can require beyond which the exceptional workers would just prefer the regular worker wage?Adverse Selection in the Labor Market (Part d)Even if the incentive compatibility conditions are met, for the policy to work, the workers need to be willing to participate in the screening process at all instead of just taking their outside employment opportunities. For the regular workers, they’re definitely willing to participate because they won’t be taking the examinations, but will still be getting $90,000. What is the maximum number of examinations that the employer can require before the exceptional workers will take their outside employment opportunity?11) Adverse Selection in the Labor Market (Part e)Propose one specific value of nn that would make this hiring policy a successful screen, thus allowing the employer to differentiate between the two different types of workers based on the actions of the workers?

Calculate break-even and payback period analyses.

InstructionsMaryland Home and Community-Based Services (MHCBS) is considering a major expansion that will enable it to attract a different clientele to its organization. Currently, they serve only 34% of the frail elderly seniors and persons with disabilities in the local area. The new chief executive officer (CEO) would like the organization to expand its revenue stream by investing in a multipurpose center serving healthy seniors by offering them arts and crafts and health and wellness programs. The center will also contain an Internet café offering nutritious breakfast and lunch options. The CEO has commissioned a needs assessment and the study’s results reveal the following:Approximately 120 seniors in the local community are interested in this center. The CEO expects growth of the aging population to be at least 10% each year.Cost growth across all areas of expenses is expected to rise by 5% each year. The CEO has presented her proposal and financial information to the Board of Directors, and they have advised her that they are in full support of her strategy only if the program is a benefit to the community and if the organization can recoup its investment in five years. The CEO has asked you if this can be achieved. Based on the information presented in the scenario:Calculate break-even and payback period analyses. See Excel Spreadsheet to show your calculation.Explain, in a 2-3 page memorandum to the CEO, their implications.
