BIO Career Point College Biology Questions
Did each paragraph give me your opinion if you agree or disagree with the paragraph I chose to research Insulin. My family has a history of diabetes and I always want to know more as my children are at risk of being diabetic. It is in the works to make insulin replacement a possibility without the injections. The benefits could be that diabetics would not have to be dependent on insulin shots every day. They can live their life free of it. I believe people should support this. Diabetics have been changed to needles and viles for far too long. Organisms should be labeled as to what they are. No product should be misleading in any way. 2. Genetically Modified Organisms-Growth HormonesFor this discussion, present a summary of the genetically modified organism that you are researching for your Unit 10 assignment. How is the technology being used? Explain the gene of interest, name the organism into which it is inserted, and describe the intended result. What are the possible benefits and negative effects of the technology? Explain.Do you think that individuals should object to or support this bioengineered plant, animal, or bacterium? Why or why not?Do you think governments should outlaw bioengineered organisms? Under what circumstances? Explain.Should the genetically modified organism involved be labeled so, if it is a consumable item? Explain.Genetic modification can occur in several things that we use daily. One thing specifically that contains genetic modification is growth hormones. Growth hormones are used in children and in adults. Hormones are a vital part of the body and enough of the hormones are not being produced on their own you may need a growth hormone injection. Genetic factors can interfere with the lack of growth especially in children and when there is damage to the pituitary glands in adults it can lead to a permanent deficiency. The treatment that is being utilized is HGH injections that are injected into the body several times a week by a prescribed doctor or it can be self-administered depending on the severity of the deficiency. HGH is designed to mimic the natural behavior growths in the body. These treatments can last for several years and various test are given to ensure that the treatments are working properly and there any additional health issues. The earlier children have treated the better chances they have in reaching their normal height. In adults, the goal is to help increase energy levels and reduce other health issues. It is very important to monitor those who are being treated with these infections to ensure that there arent any adverse effects from the drug. Most people tolerate HGH injection treatments well with few problems. However, possible side effects include muscle aches, joint discomfort, headaches, swelling of the hands and feet (Wu, 2019). People who have diabetes must be extra careful as well because it can affect their insulin levels. As with anything that is being created it is not always 100% accurate and it takes trial and error to get things right. I think there should be extra precautions that should be taken when administering HGH so that it doesnt cause any unwanted issues. I think that it is beneficial in helping people achieve goals that they probably wouldnt achieve on their own especially children. Having the quality of life is important and there is an opportunity to give a person that and be able to limit the negative side effects I think it will work. One of the most important skills for any manager to have let alone an emergency manager is good leadership and interpersonal communication skills. Evaluation of options – decision matrix
This is the second assignment in the Virtual Capstone Project. The AHIMA Engage Community has been accessed and has provided valuable information on coding production and quality coding standards. This information supports you as you continue to follow up with the CFO on Dr. Crowe’s physician income issue. The assignment in this module will use a Decision Matrix, which is a popular tool used to assist with complex business choices.
This assignment contains four parts:
Part 1: Gathering Data: Facility Information
Part 2: Gathering Data: Connecting with Coding Outsource Companies
Part 3: Decision Matrix: Locate and Enter Data
Part 4: Prepare Your Submission
To begin this assignment, first read the scenario below and then perform the steps in the four parts that follow.
Scenario:
The Coding Unit Problem continues to develop. You realize that physician income is directly connected to coding which is part of your department. The status of the Coding Unit is as follows:
Staffing: 25 FTEs (10 coders are assigned to Physician Office Coding)
Assignments: Ip, Op, ER, MD Office and Professional Fee Coding
Staff works Remote, out of office after training complete
Over the last 4 years, the Coding Unit has had 4 different coding managers.
Alyza obtains coding production and quality standard comparison information on physician office coding from the AHIMA Engage Community. Using the standardized data and her own benchmarks, she compares the data to her current 10 physician coding staff members. Using database queries, she validates that all ten coders are meeting the production standards and then prepares a coding audit from the most recent 3 months to ensure her coders are meeting quality standards. The quality standard is set at 92% which is in line with data obtained from the Engage Community.
Quality Standards Coding Audit Results
As the Director of HIM you report the production and quality findings above to the CFO who is concerned and responds that he wants you to evaluate the possibility of outsourcing the coding work for physician office coders. The CFO went through a complete coding outsource at Rush Memorial and the financial results were very impressive. He further indicates that Fantasticode handled the coding outsource project, and their 15 years of coding experience ensured that the outsource project was successful.
You review outsource decision criteria considerations with him which include 1) financial costs of physician coding, 2) benefit impact of existing coders, 3) years of coding experience, and in addition the CFO acknowledges that any staffing outsource at LiveWell will 4) impact the facility reputation. The CFO directs you to complete research, gather all information and report back with a recommendation in 30 days. He further directs you to keep your data gathering confidential and to work directly with Human Resources for data gathering.
Part 1: Gathering Data: Facility Information
Suzanne, the HR Director, is prepared with data when you arrive to her office. She shares the following information with you:
Full time employees get insurance benefits at a cost of $500 to LiveWell, per month, per person.
Part time employees do not get insurance.
Hokim, Janet, Bernie, and Carol all make $22.00 per hour and are full-time.
Penny, Vernita, and Shemaya all make $24.00 per hour and are full-time.
Mila, Marcy, and Tom are part-time and make $22, $24, and $25 per hour respectively.
All full-timers work 2080 hours per year and part-timers work 1040 hours per year.
You use this information to complete Table 2 below to determine cost of the Physician Office Coding Team. However, Suzanne was unable to provide complete information for you so she left a message with Benefits Specialist, Kathy, regarding one employee benefit, Short Term Disability. Kathy, in turn, left a voicemail with her reply.
Do the following:
Review Kathy’s voicemail by clicking the link below and extract the information you need from her reply:
Download the assignment template below and complete Table 2 in the template:
Table 2
The HR director also contacts the Marketing/Public Relations department and requests a Public Relations evaluation. She asks “How will an outsourcing of employee work impact the reputation of LiveWell?” Suzanne doesn’t specify any type of employee, unit, or department. The marketing director provides the following response after a thorough analysis, and in Table 3 below you assign decision scores to the information for use in the Decision Matrix later in this assignment:
Finally, Suzanne also offers you the short list below for benefit consideration which ideally will equate to the benefits that the physician coding employees currently receive at LiveWell.
Benefit Evaluation for Staff
Life insurance equivalent to LiveWell
Health insurance coverage and cost comparable to LiveWell
Vacation time eligibility and provision comparable to LiveWell
Short term disability provided comparable to LiveWell
LiveWell benefits and those rated as “comparable” will be rated as a 2 in the Decision Matrix. Benefits that exceed LiveWell’s will be rated as a 3, and benefits that fall below will be rated as a 1.
After gathering all LiveWell employee information above, you proceed with data gathering from Coding Outsource Companies.
Part 2: Gathering Data: Connecting with Coding Outsource Companies
To continue and complete the criteria consideration requested by the CFO, you confidentially contact a local coding company, Competent Coding Company (CCC) that you have used periodically over the last 4 years when the workload fell outside of turnaround guidelines. Additionally, a fellow professional whom you graduated from college with and have stayed in touch with uses Midwest HIM Professionals (MHP) which is a nationwide coding company. You request information from both companies and give them a 2 week deadline for the information.
The CFO’s secretary calls you and tells you to expect a call from Fantasticode who will also bid on the physician office coding project. You place all gathered data from the coding companies in the table below.
To complete data gathering for the decision matrix, you prepare Table 5 below which assigns a value to both the Cost Criteria and the Years in Service Criteria.
Part 3: Decision Matrix: Locate and Enter Gathered Data
Use data provided above in Tables 2, 3, 4, and 5 to complete the Decision Matrix below in Table 6. Then total up the scores and use the scoring result to make a recommendation to the CFO in your upcoming meeting. Type your entries into the Module 06 Virtual Capstone Project Template you started to complete in Part 1 of this assignment.
Part 4: Prepare Your Submission
Complete your submission for this assignment as follows:
Ensure that Tables 2 and 6 of the Module 06 Virtual Capstone Project Template are completed.
Research the following questions using two different credible resources:
Why use a Decision Matrix: how is it helpful in the evaluation of complex business decisions?
How to use a Decision Matrix: what key steps should be followed?
Add your answers to these questions, in paragraph form, to the end of the Module 06 Virtual Capstone Project Template. Be sure to cite your sources and include an APA-formatted reference page.

Embry Riddle Promo & Adv Discussion Response
1. NdePromotion and advertising can make a huge difference on a business. Companies use promotional strategies to communicate their messages to the marketplace (Berkowitz, 2017). The four major components used are advertising, personal selling, publicity, and sales promotion (Berkowitz, 2017). There are many factors that contribute to effective communication and many of these factors can affect companies directly (Berkowitz, 2017). It is crucial a companys message stays clear, accurate, and positive through translation because it is so easy to twist peoples words to create a more interesting story for television and media. In the above scenario, this local hospital made an executive decision to downsize their nursing staff. Unfortunately, for the hospital the television station didnt report a favorable impression to the public regarding this change. Based on this local television stations report, the citizens of this town now have the impression if they attend this hospital they will be receiving a lower quality of care than other healthcare facilities that staff more nurses. Hospitals cutting staff to reduce costs is something patients and employees dread having to go through. This not only detrimental to the patients but also for the staff but it is requiring them to do more work and work longer hours. In this case the local hospital now must deal with some negative publicity. The administrator was most likely trying to explain the truth of situation, but the public only heard the negative side of the story. The administrator should have consulted and prepared a statement with a public relations executive to prepare a planned response to help deal with the questions that could produce a negative response (Berkowitz, 2017). The local hospital should also focus on getting some positive feedback out in the public to help bury the negative news segment. Another way to help boost positivity is by online reviews. Most people read reviews online before choosing a healthcare facility, especially if they are not familiar with any of them. The local hospital could offer patients an incentive to leave a review after their visit during the checkout portion.Social media is very broad and constantly changing and it is referred to as internet-based tools that allow us to communicate, share ideas, information, personal messages, images, and any other content (Ventola, 2014). Social media tools are there for health care providers and if used correctly it can help generate positive feedback and more patients. Social networking platforms can include media-sharing sites, blogs, wikis, and etc. (Ventola, 2014). These tools can be used to improve and enhance professional networking and education, organizational promotion, patient care, patient education, and public health programs (Ventola, 2014).As said in Psalm 20:4, May he grant you your hearts desire and fulfill all your plans! (English Standard Version). Also said in Genesis 12:2, And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing (English Standard Version). We must work hard to make our healthcare system great and promote the great things we are working towards. References:Berkowitz, E. N. (2017). Essentials of Health Care Marketing. P&T Pharmacy and Therapeutics, A Peer-Reviewed Journal for Managed Care and Hospital Formulary Management, 39(7). Retrieved from 2.Kassawale A decision to downsize nursing staff in a health care organization can have huge impacts on not on a health care organization, but the entire community. There are many instances I can recall recently with similar news headlines. Since the onset of Covid-19, the theme of health care seems to do more with less. This is especially true for nurses. In this case, an interview was conducted that left an unfavorable impression of the impact on quality care provided in this specific organization. The textbook states, essential to an effective marketing organization is the ongoing measurement and monitoring of outcomes (Berkowitz, 2017). In this case, it would appear the outcome was not good. When being involved in an interview, it is necessary to know what the purpose is behind the actual interview. The interviewer may try to lead you in a direction you do not want to go. It would be interesting to read the transcript from this particular interview and see what actually made it to the news. The following has been said, interviews are particularly helpful in illuminating individual perspectives or experiences surrounding a specific topic or phenomenon, especially when little is known about the targeted question or when substantial depth of opinion is desired (Jordan et al., 2021). In this case, the health care administrator should have taken the time to see what the interviewers narrative was going to be. The unfortunate part of this situation is that only 15 seconds were used from the 20-minute interview. This is an interesting discussion to have in the current health care climate. It has been said that nurses contribution to the health care system is remarkable and as health care professionals they are doing more than their capacity within the limited resources as well as lack of facilitation (Ahmad & Asmat, 2021). In addition to a nursing shortage, there has been an increase in concern is the knowledge and skills of nursing graduates. I believe Covid-19 is a big reason for this. This is why the following statement is important, institutions and health authority needs to implement proper internship program which may be helpful to overcome these problems at the individual or organizational level (Ahmad & Asmat, 2021). The health care administrator could have highlighted thing their organization was doing to ensure nursing were properly trained and an internship is put in place. The Bible tells us, Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear (Ephesians 4:29, English Standard Version). Although this health care administrator had good intentions, it did not come across that way. Moving forward, more preparation should be done prior to conducting an interview. Another suggestion would be to write up a statement. With a written statement, words are less likely to be misconstrued. At the end of the day, there is some news that wont be received well, regardless of how much preparation went into an interview.References:Ahmad, I & Asmat, S. Research Design
Research design refers to the specific type of study that you will conduct. Research design is normally consistent with ones philosophical worldview and the methodological approach the researcher chooses. In this case, you are using a quantitative methodology. As we have discussed in this, quantitative research designs can be experimental and non-experimental. You will be using a non-experimental design that can include descriptive statistics, correlational or causal-comparative research methods.
Research methods refer to specific procedures selected based on the chosen design. This is where you will provide detail on how you collected and analyzed your data. For quantitative methodologies, research methods can be quite detailed and require that attention be paid to recruitment, sampling, sampling frame, sample size, surveys, pilot tests, observations, data collection, data analysis, statistical procedures, data interpretation, coding, validity, reliability, generalizability, reporting, etc.
For this, you will develop the research design for the Sun Coast project, utilizing this template to complete your assignment.
Your research design submission should include the below elements.
Research Methodology: Describe and justify the choice of research methodology and why it was most suitable to solve the problems. Be sure to compare and contrast this choice with the design that was not selected.
Research Design: Explain whether the research design is exploratory, causal, or descriptive. Provide the rationale for the choice.
Research Methods: Review the research questions and hypotheses you developed in Unit II, and then decide on the most appropriate research methods to test your hypotheses. They might include a combination of experimentation, descriptive statistics, correlation, and casual-comparative methods. Be sure to specify which method will be used to test which research question and hypotheses, and explain why that method was most appropriate.
Data Collection Methods: Specify how the data were most likely collected to test the hypotheses. Data collection methods include, but are not limited to, survey, observation, and records analysis. Be sure to specify which data collection method was used to collect the data needed for each research question and hypothesis. Please note that one data collection method could capture the data for several research questions and hypotheses.
Sampling Design: Briefly describe the type of sampling design that was most likely used for the data that were collected. Choices include, but are not limited to, random sample, convenience sample, etc. Explain your rationale for your sampling design selection(s).
Data Analysis Procedures: Specify which statistical procedures will be used to test each of your hypotheses from among correlation, regression, t test, and ANOVA. Explain why each procedure was the most appropriate choice.
The title and reference pages do not count toward the page requirement for this assignment. This assignment should be no less than two pages in length, follow APA-style formatting and guidelines, and use references and citations as necessary.

Your journal entry must be at least 200 words in length. No references or citations are necessary.
Scholarly activity 4
Descriptive Statistics Analysis
Describe the Sun Coast data using the descriptive statistics tools discussed in the unit lesson. Establish whether assumptions are met to use parametric statistical procedures. Repeat the tasks below for each tab in the Sun Coast research study data set. Utilize the Unit IV Scholarly Activity template here.
You will utilize Microsoft Excel ToolPak. The links to the ToolPak are here in the Project Guidance document.
Here are some of the items you will cover.
Produce a frequency distribution table and histogram.
Generate descriptive statistics table, including measures of central tendency (mean, median, and mode), kurtosis, and skewness.
Describe the dependent variable measurement scale as nominal, ordinal, interval, or ratio.
Analyze, evaluate, and discuss the above descriptive statistics in relation to assumptions required for parametric testing. Confirm whether the assumptions are met or are not met.
The title and reference pages do not count toward the page requirement for this. This should be no less than five pages in length, follow AP style formatting and guidelines, and use references and citations as necessary.
Museum visitation | Geography homework help
Step One:
First, you will select a museum from the class list to visit. If you live in town, you must choose from this list. All the museums are linked on the table below, so you can check their websites to see what special exhibits they are showing. For students from out of town, you must email me the name and a link to the museum you wish to visit. You must give me at least 2 weeks’ notice for approval before you go.
You can travel to the museum on your own, with friends, or even with your group members from class.
REMEMBER to bring your student ID so that you get a discount on admission.
REMEMBER to keep your ticket and/or receipt as proof that you visited the museum in case I have questions.
Call the museum you have chosen to ask if they have one day a week where entrance is free. Most museums do.
REMEMBER, when you call make sure to ask if all sections of the museum, including their traveling exhibit(s) are open, so you do not make a wasted trip.
You may want to call or ask at the museum if they run tours. If so, you may want to do the tour to get an introduction to the museum.
REMEMBER to print out Paper Guidelines before you go, so you know what to take notes on!
Plan to spend at least 2 hours there so that you can complete notes to help write your paper when you return home. REMEMBER to sketch ALL FIVE OF the works you will discuss in your paper. YOU NEED A SKETCH FOR EACH SECTION A-E. I just want a rough sketch. I am not expecting a Rembrandt.
THE PURPOSE OF SKETCHING is so that you may sit quietly and contemplate each of the works you will write about. Looking at a work live is not the same as looking at an image or picture of the work (like on your phone). Explore your feelings when looking at the work. Think about how the work makes you feel. Think about what the author may have been thinking when creating the work and the message the author was trying to communicate. You may want to print out these Questions You Should Think About When Looking at Art before you go to help you look at the art more closely.
ONLY pick from the list of museums below. Through the years, these museums have had the highest quality exhibitions. They provide educational support through literature, videos, etc. You may not go to a museum or art gallery that is not on the list. For students from out of town, you must email me the name and a link to the museum you wish to visit. You must give me at least 2 weeks’ notice for approval before you go.
Please don’t ask me if you can go to a science museum, a history museum, an art gallery, an arts/crafts festival, or the Body’s Exhibit instead. These art not art museums, and thus will not qualify for this paper.

Step Two:
View these videos before your visit.
Print these directions and the Paper Guidelines out and take them with you to the museum. Also take a sketch pad to sketch the works you will discuss in your paper.
Begin by walking through the museum. Note that all museums have permanent collections (artwork they own) and exhibitions (traveling art shows).
Look at the art with care. If possible “listen” to it and hear what the artist is trying to communicate.
Take notes based on Paper Guidelines.
THE PURPOSE OF SKETCHING is so that you may sit quietly and contemplate each of the works you will write about. Looking at a work live is not the same as looking at an image or picture of the work (like on your phone). Explore your feelings when looking at the work. Think about how the work makes you feel. REMEMBER to sketch ALL FIVE OF the works you will discuss in your paper. YOU NEED A SKETCH FOR EACH SECTION A-E. I just want a rough sketch. I am not expecting a Rembrandt.
Step Three:
Write Report (Read all directions carefully before you start!)
Your report should follow the guidelines stated under the Written Assignments section of your syllabus. Your paper must be typed in a 10-12 point font, double-spaced with margins that are no more than 1 inch.
If you don’t have Microsoft Word, save your file as a .txt, .pdf, or .rtf file. Title your document with one word. For example, I might use sarah1.doc.
Your report must be at least 700 words. You need a sketch for each section A-E.
Please make sure to turn in your own work. Use your own words, not summaries of the descriptions of the artwork listed in the exhibit brochure or displayed with the objects’ titles.
Also, this report is an individual project. It should not be done with other students.
Any papers that are plagiarized will be turned back to the student and an “F” grade will be given.
Make sure to upload your paper to the dropbox and read your originality report. If your paper is above 5% copied (excluding quotes) make the necessary changes before re-submitting it into the dropbox. For more information on using the turnitin dropboxes in Blackboard and understanding originality reports, click here.
Sketches should NOT be included when you upload your paper. They should be scanned in and uploaded to the seperate Sketch dropbox or they can be faxed to the number in the syllabus. Make sure your professor’s name is on the cover sheet. The sketches can also be mailed to the address in the syllabus.
If you have problems getting started writing your report, take a look at Questions You Should Think About When Looking at Art. DO NOT LIST THE QUESTIONS YOU HAVE. ANSWER THEM.
Paper Guidelines:
Print these guidelines out and write on ALL of the sections Part A – Part E
Click here to print a copy of the Paper Guidelines.
Part A. The Most Beautiful Object in the Museum
As you walk through the museum, you should seek the most beautiful object you can find. When you have discovered it, stand or sit before it for at least two minutes.
Try not at first to look at the “title” or other information displayed with the object. Use your insight and imagination to understand the art before you.
Think about what thoughts and questions are going through your mind as you look at the object. Try to answer these questions in your paper; don’t just list questions without answers.
Take notes that express your feelings and thoughts plainly and simply.
Make a 8 x 10 sketch of the object, including the important details. (Do not worry about your artistic talent – I just want to see your impression of what you saw.)
This part of the paper should include:
the name of the museum you visited.
the title of the work you selected, its artist, and the country the artist is from.
a detailed description of the work and why you selected it. (Use Questions You Should Think about When Looking at Art if you get stuck. However, do not list the questions in your paper. Answer them.)
the feelings the work aroused in you.
your 8×10 sketch, including the important details.
Part B. The Most Interesting Non-European/Non-North American Work of Art
Follow the directions for Part A. Make sure to list the country the artist is from. (Make sure to complete a sketch.)
Part C. The Most Disturbing Work of Art OR A Work of Art that You Disliked
Follow the directions for Part A. (Make sure to complete a sketch.)
Part D. 2 Paragraphs about a Special Exhibition
Please add a paragraph about a special exhibit at the museum. What was the title of the exhibit? What was the purpose of the exhibit? Give a general description of the artwork that is part of the exhibit.
In your second paragraph, select an object you feel is the most significant of this particular exhibit. Make sure to include the title of the piece, the artist, country of origin, a description and sketch, and why you thought it was the most significant of the exhibit. (Make sure to complete a sketch.)
Part E. What Would You Take Home
If you could take one work home, from anything in the museum, what would you select and why? Describe the work you have selected. (Make sure to complete a sketch.)
Part F: Follow These Procedures
Make sure your paper has a title.
Make sure your paper is AT LEAST 700 words.
If you have trouble writing your paper, go to Questions You Should Think about When Looking at Art. Please do not list the questions you are using. Just answer them.
Your paper must be typed in a 10-12 point font, double-spaced with margins that are no more than 1 inch.
If you don’t have Microsoft Word, save your file as a .txt, .pdf, or .rtf file. Name your document with one word. For example, I might use sarah1.doc.
Please make sure to turn in your own work. Use your own words, not summaries of the descriptions of the artwork listed in the exhibit brochure or displayed with the objects’ titles.
Also, this report is an individual project. It should not be done with other students.
Make sure to upload your paper to the dropbox and read your originality report. If your paper is above 5% copied (excluding quotes) make the necessary changes before re-submitting it into the dropbox. For more information on using turnitin dropboxes inside of Blackboard and understanding originality reports, click here.
Any papers that are plagiarized will be turned back to the student and an “F” grade will be given. You will then not be eligible to pass the course.
Your FIVE Sketches should NOT be included when you upload your paper. They should be scanned in and uploaded to the separate Museum Sketch dropbox or they can be faxed to the number in the syllabus. Make sure your professor’s name is on the cover sheet. The sketches can also be snail mailed to the address in the syllabus.
Museum Rules:
Museum Policies and Rules of Conduct
Museums and galleries are concerned about both the exhibition and the protection of the works of art in its collection. Knowing and observing the below rules will be helpful.

STUDENT DISCOUNTS. Ask at the front desk if student discounts are available. (Be sure to have you Student ID with you.) Or you can call ahead, to see if the museum offers free admission one day a week. Make sure to keep your ticket/receipt as proof of your visit in case I have questions.
Essay assignment 4: compare & contrast
English 101
Essay Assignment 4: Compare/Contrast Essay
Topic and Structure:
Compare/Contrast Essay Choose one topic provided in these instructions to compare and/or contrast.
The table below provides an extensive list of topic options from which you select, and we recommend that you choose one from below that you are interested in beyond this course. For instance, if you are a Finance or Business major, you might be interested in the Dividends v. Capital Gains topic. If you are a Science major, you might choose Hybrid Seeds v. GMO Seeds. Or perhaps youre taking StraighterLines Survey of World History course, in which case you might opt to research the similarities and differences between the United States and the Roman Empire. You will use at least two credible sources to support your claims, and remember, you must include your sources throughout the body paragraphs of your essay in a mix of cited quotes, paraphrases, and summaries. Both the support and research portions of the rubric will be negatively affected if you do not integrate your researched data.
· Rosa Parks vs. Harriett Tubman
· Treaties vs. Executive Agreements
· Roman Empire vs. United States
· Edgar Allen Poes The Raven vs. Robert Frosts The Road Not Taken
· Verbal vs. Nonverbal Communication
· Old Testament vs. New Testament
· Leonardo di Vinci vs. Michelangelo
· Apple Ipad vs. Microsoft Surface
· Dividends vs. Capital Gains
· Marxism vs. Socialism
· Chicago Cubs vs. Chicago White Sox
· Jazz vs. Blues
· String Instruments vs. Wind Instruments
· Amphibians vs. Reptiles
· Charles Darwin vs. Jean-Baptiste Lamarck
· Solar Power vs. Wind Power
· Hybrid Seeds vs. GMO Seeds
· Public School vs. Home School
Write an essay comparing or contrasting the two topics in your selection using EITHER the point-by-point OR the subject-by-subject method to organize the details and specific examples. Consider focusing on three to five subtopics and generate ideas through prewriting. Develop a strong thesis statement for your essay that includes your two topics from the list above; your three to five subtopics; and a claim about how they are similar, different, or both.
Sample Thesis Statements:
If you will argue that your two topics are mostly similar:
Topic A and Topic B share many similar characteristics, including (Supporting point 1), (Supporting point 2), and (Supporting point 3); while they differ in (Additional supporting point), the similarities greatly outweigh the differences.
OR
If you will argue that your two topics are mostly different:
While Topic A and Topic B have (Additional supporting point) in common, they are mostly quite different; in fact, they differ in characteristics such as (Supporting point 1), (Supporting point 2), and (Supporting point 3).
OR
If you will argue that your two topics have many important/interesting similarities and differences:
Analyzing Topic A and Topic B reveals many fascinating similarities as well as differences; for instance, they share (Supporting point 1) and (Supporting point 1), but are vastly different when it comes to (Supporting point 3) and (Supporting point 4).
Tips
To brainstorm, you might consider using a Venn diagram or a simple list to show what your topics have in common and how they differ. Then you can select the most prominent or interesting characteristics that you want to highlight in your paper.
Be sure to avoid beginning your comparisons or contrasts in the introduction. Your thesis is the only place in the introduction where you will include this information. Use the introduction to get your readers attention, and consider using a good strategy that leads into the topic. For instance, you might relate a short anecdote to illustrate your topic, an interesting quotation that relates to your topic, or perhaps a surprising statistic that reveals something about your topic.
Then, in the body paragraphs remember to support your claim(s) outlined in the thesis. For instance, if one of your points says the city and the country are different in terms of transportation, be sure the topic sentence of one body paragraph presents a similar statement. In addition, spend equal time on each subtopic in each body paragraph, and one way to develop organized body paragraphs is to focus on one topic before moving to the next one so that the paragraph support is split 50/50. In other words, using the example above, you would explain the transportation options in the city in full, and then, you would detail the types of contrasting transportation in the country. End each body paragraph with a strong concluding sentence that synthesizes that paragraphs discussions.
The conclusion should sum up the specific supporting points as well as your overall assessment of why these points are important. Consider what kinds of interesting or new conclusions you can draw from your comparison. In other words, your essay must reveal why your comparison is important. A well-developed paragraph often contains a minimum of five sentences. Note that any of the main sections below labeled with Roman Numerals (I, II, III, IV) could be more than just a single paragraph.
Point-by-Point
I. Introduction A. Thesis B. Additional information to introduce your topic and gain the readers attention
II. Supporting point 1 A. Topic 1 B. Topic 2
III. Supporting point 2 A. Topic 1 B. Topic 2
IV. Supporting point 3 A. Topic 1 B. Topic 2
V. Supporting point 4 or Additional point A. Topic 1 B. Topic 2
VI. Conclusion A. Reiterate your thesis (but do not simply restate it from the introduction) B. Give your overall assessmentthe so what factorabout your topic. For instance, is one topic better than the other for some reason? Is one topic misunderstood?
Subject-by-Subject
I. Introduction A. Thesis B. Additional information to introduce your topic and gain the readers attention
II. Topic 1 A. Supporting point 1 B. Supporting point 2 C. Supporting point 3 D. Supporting point 4 or Additional point
III. Topic 2 A. Supporting point 1 B. Supporting point 2 C. Supporting point 3 D. Supporting point 4 or Additional point
V. Conclusion A. Reiterate your thesis (but do not simply restate it from the introduction) B. Give your overall assessmentthe so what factorabout your topic. For instance, is one topic better than the other for some reason? Is one topic misunderstood?
Heres an example of how you might organize using these methods for an essay about cats versus dogs as pets (remember, this topic is not one of the options for this essay).
Point-by-Point
I. Introduction A. Thesis: While cats and dogs are both clear winners when it comes to pet choices, these animals are vastly different when it comes to noise level, exercise needs, and cleanliness.
II. Subtopic 1: Noise level A. Topic 1: Cats are quiet B. Topic 2: Dogs can be noisy
III. Subtopic 2: Exercise A. Topic 1: Cats do not have to be walked B. Topic 2: Dogs require exercise
IV. Subtopic 3: Cleanliness A. Topic 1: Cats groom themselves B. Topic 2: Dogs need to be bathed
V. Conclusion
Subject-by-Subject
I. Introduction A. Thesis: While cats and dogs are both clear winners when it comes to pet choices, these animals are vastly different when it comes to noise level, exercise needs, and cleanliness.

Technical paper: final project plan
Especially for You Jewelers is a small jewelry company in a college town. Over the last couple of years, it has experienced a tremendous increase in its business. However, its financial performance has not kept pace with its growth. The current system, which is partly manual and partly automated, doesnt track accounts receivables sufficiently, and the company is finding it difficult to determine the reasons why the receivables are so high. The company runs frequent specials to attract customers but has no idea whether these efforts are profitable or if the benefitif there is onecomes from associated sales. Especially for You Jewelers wants to increase repeat sales to its existing customers; thus, it needs to develop a customer database. It also wants to install a new direct sales and accounting system to help solve the outlined problems.
The new direct sales and accounting system for Especially for You Jewelers will be an important element in the growth and success of the jewelry company. The direct sales portion must track every sale, be able to link to the inventory system for cost data, and provide a daily profit and loss report. The customer database must be able to produce purchase histories to assist management in preparing special mailings and special sales to existing customers. Detailed credit balances and aged accounts for each customer would help to solve the problem with the high balance of accounts receivables. Special notice letters and credit history reports would help management reduce accounts receivable.
Write a six to eight (6-8) page paper in which you:
Suggest at least five (5) expected business benefits that Especially for You Jewelers company might derive from a new system. Provide a rationale for your suggestions.
Propose at least five (5) system capabilities for the company. Provide a rationale for your proposals.
Ascertain the three (3) possible scenarios in this new direct sales and accounting system.
Using Microsoft Visio or an open source alternative such as Dia, develop an activity diagram for each scenario that you have identified. Note: The graphically depicted solution may not exceed one (1) page per diagram. Provide a narrative that gives an overview of your diagram.
Using Microsoft Visio or an open source alternative such as Dia, complete a fully-developed use case description for each scenario identified. Note: The graphically depicted solution may not exceed one (1) page per diagram.
Develop a system vision document for Especially for You Jewelers, detailing the overall vision or plan for the new direct sales and accounting system. A vision document generally contains:
Introduction
Business needs / requirements
Product / solution overview
Major features
Scope and limitations
Other needs
Use at least three (3) quality resources outside of the suggested resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar Websites do not qualify as quality resources.

Confidentiality in social work practice
One of the most important concepts in clinical practice and group work is confidentiality. All members of the group sign an informed consent form in order to address the rules and parameters of the group sessions. The rules regarding confidentiality are stated in one section of the form. Although every member must sign this agreement, ensuring that all information shared in the group remains confidential can be difficult. As the group leader, the clinical social worker is responsible for developing strategies so that all members feel safe to share.
For this Discussion, review the Working With Groups: Latino Patients Living With HIV/AIDS case study. ATTACHED
Post strategies you might prefer to use to ensure confidentiality in a treatment group for individuals living with HIV/AIDS. Describe how informed consent addresses confidentiality in a group setting. How does confidentiality in a group differ from confidentiality in individual counseling? Also, discuss how you would address a breach of confidentiality in the group. .
Working With Groups: Latino Patients Living WithHIV/AIDS
The support group discussed here was created to address the unique needs of a vulnerable population receiving services at an outpatient interdisciplinary comprehensive care center. The centers mission was to provide medical and psychosocial services to adult patients living with HIV/AIDS (PLWH). Both patients and providers at the center expressed a need for a group to address the needs of the centers Latino population. At the time the group was created, 36% of the centers population identified as Latino, and 25% of this cohort identified Spanish as their primary language. The purpose of the group was twofold: 1) to reduce the social isolation felt by Latino patients at the center and 2) to create a culturally sensitive environment where Latino patients could explore common medical and psychosocial issues faced by PLWH within a cultural context.
Planning for the group consisted of 1) defining a format for the group, 2) recruiting appropriate members, and 3) building an appropriate group composition. When considering the format of the group, I thought about structure, time, place, and language. The group was designated a closed group in that new patients were not admitted once the initial membership was determined. The group was held in the centers conference room, which was furnished with comfortable seating around a large conference table so that members were visible to each other during group sessions. The group met once a week for 90-minute sessions during which 60 minutes were spent on open discussion and the last 30 minutes were spent on having lunch. Given the importance of food in the Latino culture, I thought members would appreciate the opportunity to share a meal with their peers. I decided to designate the group as Spanish-speaking so that all sessions were held in Spanish. This offered members not only a sense of comfort and an opportunity to explore issues in their native tongue, but it also addressed the language barrier that often isolates Latino PLWH.
I used several strategies to recruit members. I hung flyers throughout the center, and I informed my colleagues about the group during interdisciplinary staff meetings. Referrals ultimately came from physicians, social workers, and even administrative staff who had developed relationships with patients at the center. When considering group composition, I focused on creating balance in group size and the characteristics of individual members. I worked to create a group with enough members so that discussions would be fruitful and differing opinions could be presented, but at the same time, individual members would have an opportunity to discuss their unique feelings, thoughts, and opinions. When it came to member characteristics, I strove to create a balance between homogeneity and heterogeneity across such domains as age, sex, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, etc. The goal was to create a group where no member felt isolated by uniqueness while simultaneously promoting diversity between members. Prior to being admitted to the group, potential members were interviewed/screened in person or by phone. The focus of these interviews was to 1) assess the patients ability to communicate in Spanish, 2) describe the purpose of the group, 3) discuss individual expectations for the group, and 4) answer questions about group process and function. A total of 15 patients were referred. Four declined to participate before the group started and two did not show up after the first session. Of the remaining nine members, three were women and six were men. All of the men had a significant history of intravenous drug use (IVDU). Two of the men identified as gay, one identified as bisexual, and three considered themselves to be heterosexual. All of the women were heterosexual, identified a risk factor of unprotected heterosexual sex, and denied a history of IVDU. Members ages ranged from 36 to 60.
The group ran successfully for 18 months. Throughout the life of the group, several recurrent themes were discussed, including 1) stigma of HIV and homosexuality, 2) disclosure of HIV status, 3) safer sex practices, 4) adherence to HIV treatment, and 5) the doctorpatient relationship. Each of these themes was discussed within a cultural context giving light to issues such as familialism, collectivism, simpatia, machismo (gender roles), and Latino cultures tendency to rely on a folk model of medicine.
As in most groups, certain members adopted roles within the group. For example, Anna, a 46-year-old female member, adopted the role of the silent member. She repeatedly came to sessions and sat in silence, only responding when she was prompted by direct questions from me or other members. The challenge with Anna was that as this behavior continued, other members tended to ignore her and leave her out of the discussion. In turn, it became my role to try to engage Anna as much as possible and draw her into the discussion. Another example is Diego, a 60-year-old male, who adopted the role of the help-rejecting complainer. Throughout group sessions, Diego repeatedly presented a problem or issue and engaged the entire group by asking for help. When members responded with suggestions or solutions, he came up with a myriad of excuses why none of them would work. I will admit I was not successful at altering Diegos behavior in any way. I attempted to point out the pattern, and I tried to ask other members how it felt to constantly have their input rejected, but nothing seemed to work. Group members did express frustration and boredom with Diego. This was manifested in their body language and during group sessions when Diego was not present. When members spoke about Diego in his absence, I always encouraged them to bring these issues to his attention when he was present, but members were not able to do this because they were fearful of hurting his feelings.
Ultimately, the group served as an arena for mutual support and commonality. Group members forged relationships with peers with whom they would not have had contact in the absence of the group. They also had the opportunity to reflect on their illness and personal experiences within a safe and culturally sensitive environment. While a scientific evaluation of the group was not performed, I witnessed and members reported positive outcomes from the experience.
Threat modelling with stride | Information Systems homework help
Purpose
This project provides an opportunity to apply the concepts of using a Threat Modeling methodology, STRIDE, against a fictitious Healthcare organizations application.
Learning Objectives and Outcomes
You will gain an overall understanding of risk management, its importance, and critical processes required when developing a threat model as a part of risk management for an organization.

Deliverables
As discussed in this course, risk management is an important process for all organizations. This is particularly true in information systems, which provides critical support for organizational missions. The project activities described in this document allow you to fulfill the role of an employee participating in the risk management process in a specific business situation, identifying the threats and vulnerabilities facing your organization.
Submission Requirements
All project submissions should follow this format:
Format: Microsoft Word or compatible
Font: Arial, 10-point, double-space
Citation Style: APA style. Any work copied from Internet or other sources will automatically receive a 0.
Scenario
You are an information technology (IT) intern working for Health Network, Inc. (Health Network), a fictitious health services organization headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Health Network has over 600 employees throughout the organization and generates $500 million USD in annual revenue. The company has two additional locations in Portland, Oregon and Arlington, Virginia, which support a mix of corporate operations. Each corporate facility is located near a co-location data center, where production systems are located and managed by third-party data center hosting vendors.
Company Products
Health Network has three main products: HNetExchange, HNetPay, and HNetConnect.
HNetExchange is the primary source of revenue for the company. The service handles secure electronic medical messages that originate from its customers, such as large hospitals, which are then routed to receiving customers such as clinics over the Internet. Information transmitted over this network include patient health information, xrays, bloodwork, and diagnoses.
HNetPay is a Web portal used by many of the companys HNetExchange customers to support the management of secure payments and billing. The HNetPay Web portal, hosted at Health Network production sites, accepts various forms of payments and interacts with credit-card processing organizations much like a Web commerce shopping cart. The Web portal is hosted on a Windows IIS Web server. Data from the portal is stored in an Oracle database on a Unix server.
HNetConnect is an online directory that lists doctors, clinics, and other medical facilities to allow Health Network customers to find the right type of care at the right locations. It contains doctors personal information, work addresses, medical certifications, and types of services that the doctors and clinics offer. Doctors are given credentials and are able to update the information in their profile. Health Network customers, which are the hospitals and clinics, connect to all three of the companys products using HTTPS connections. Doctors and potential patients are able to make payments and update their profiles using Internet-accessible HTTPS Web sites. You have already run a Nessus scan and used nmap to determine vulnerabilities.
Information Technology Infrastructure Overview
Health Network operates in a production data center that provide high availability across the companys products. The data center host about 1,000 production servers, and Health Network maintains 650 corporate laptops and company-issued mobile devices for its employees. Employees are allowed to work from home, using their company-issued laptops. There is also a wireless network available at work.
Project
For the project, you must create a threat model, using STRIDE (remember to use the information in the article at the Web link, to understand these sections). To do so, you must analyze the data and create a threat model document that contains the following sections:
1. A section titled Attacker Viewpoint discussing framing the threat from the mindset of the perceived attacker. Address the following questions: 5 points.
a. Who is likely to attack the system?
b. What are they likely to attack to accomplish their goal?
2. A section titled Asset Viewpoint discussing the organizations assets from the information provided in the scenario, above. Be sure to also address the following questions (I recommend placing this in a table). 15 points
a. What is the asset?
b. What value does the asset have to the organization?
c. How might that asset be exploited by an attacker?
3. A section, titled STRIDE, that will identify the following security threats for six different categories, as discussed in the article in the Web reference you were asked to read, as they apply to this scenario. Include the following: 60 points
a. Spoofing address any spoofing threats that might be present in the applications or systems. Include the ramifications (impact) of a spoofing attack.
b. Tampering address any data or databases that might be subject to data tampering (applications, for instance, that might be vulnerable to cross site scripting attacks or SQL injection in the healthcare organization scenario, above).
c. Repudiation address where repudiation attacks might be possible in the organization.
d. Information disclosure address where there may be the likelihood for a data breach in the organizations assets listed in the scenario that would allow the attacker to access private information (or, worse, patient health information). Discuss the laws and regulations that would be impacted and the ramifications (impact and penalities) that would be incurred by this organization in that event.
e. Denial of Service discuss the potential for service interruptions for those systems or applications connected to the Internet. Which systems are vulnerable? What would be the impact to the organization for each connected system, if it were to be unavailable?
f. Elevation of Privilege discuss the systems and applications that might be subject to an attacker elevating his privilege levels (think of a patient database – what would happen if the attacker was able to gain Administrator access to the database?).
4. A section, titled Risk Mitigation Plan, that summarizes your findings for the boss and discusses the security controls that you recommend for each of the potential attacks that you have identified. This can be summarized using the table Ive provided for you below for each of your threats. Remember to assign the implementation of the recommended security control to a role within the organization (you can use a generic role, such as System Administrator, Database Admin, Security Officer, etc. your textbook and other supplemental readings listed different organizational roles responsible for managing risk) 20 points.
Risk Mitigation Plan:
Asset
Threat
Impact
Recommended Security Control
Responsible Role
