CA Challenging Behavior in a Child with Autism Discussion

Your Answer:The behavior is likely to occur the admissions on the first two months. With Maya being one of the victims. It mainly happens to result from either genetic or neurological causes. The behavior is characterized by slow growth and development, caused by differences in neurodevelopment functioning resulting in the disorder. The behavior is less likely to happen to Maya, and with no family history of autism. This means that it is less likely to happen to Maya who have normal brain growth and development since birth.Maya’s behavior involves getting violent when she needs attention such as a toy, food, or play, among other issues. Maya gets disappointed, hence getting angry and shouting all over as she throws things away. She also avoids seeking attention.Identify the challenging behavior, ensure the triggers are acknowledged, and Maya attains desired perseverated behavior. Apart from Maya’s inability to communicate and show attention, she screams and shouts desiring to gain her desires, hence the need to attain desired behavior of always remaining calm. Maya is expected to develop desired behavior through perseveration as well as proper care. For example, Maya screams when she needs attention, with the need for the caregiver to understand the specific developments necessary to boost her mental flexibility, attention, and memory. The fact that she is autistic makes her lifestyle challenging. The influencing behavior includes ensuring that his needs are met during the specific time to avoid frustrations and anger. This is the caregivers’ role in ensuring that the behavior is positively influenced. Setting environments that trigger the behavior includes when Maya is alone for long durations or when their needs and desires are not met promptly given their medical challenges with self-care and proper neurodevelopment; hence the need for proper care and attention. Teacher’s comment is: Let’s begin first with the understanding that Maya is not autistic…Maya has autism….please use people first language when discussing individuals with disabilities. I don’t think you ever indicated Maya’s age- is she an adult or a child? In previous assignments, you indicated that she is a marine biology enthusiast, and mentioned striving for professional accolades related to her projects and research. This is a very different picture that what is being described here in this assignment. Answers to questions 1 and 2 make no sense to me. Does Maya have autism or not? What is Maya a victim of? 1) Does the behavior occur most often in the morning, afternoon, evening? At home, work, school, in community? What activity is being engaged in? What staff or other consumers are present? 2) Does behavior occur less often in some places, with certain people, etc… 3) toys, food, or playing are tangible items, not attention. So does Maya engage in the behavior for attention, or because she needs/wants an item? You indicated in 5.4 that it was for tangible items. What do you mean she avoids seeking attention. What is the behavior- getting angry is not behavior- that is emotion- shouting and throwing things is a behavior that we can wee and hear. 4) A replacement behavior is something Maya can learn to do instead of yelling and throwing items- this new replacement behavior will allow her to get needs met without engaging in the challenging behavior. 5) The reinforcing consequence is that Maya will have the unmet need met- she will get whatever the item is that she wants- 6) again, Maya HAS Autism…she is not autistic. 7) Setting EVENTS, not environments- what could be happening that will cause Maya to want to engage in the behavior

You will discuss assigned questions for the Module/Week.
· Answers to questions must be supported with research and citations. It is not unusual, for instance, to have 3–4 citations per paragraph in doctoral-level research.
· Remember also that writing a research paper, especially at the doctoral-level, requires you to weave in ideas from numerous sources and then in turn synthesizing those ideas to create fresh insights and knowledge.
Specifics:
· 10-12 pages of content, double-spaced
· Must include citations from all readings and presentations for the assigned module (including the Fischer presentations and readings) and at least 15 scholarly sources
· Must include Biblical integration (the Fischer sources will help to that end)
· Current APA format
Module/Week 5 Essay
Discuss the following:
· Define governance.
· What are some of the connotations of the term governance as well?
· What is meant by “good” governance?
· Provide a Biblical perspective on governance in the public administration context.

assignment 2: ra 1: experiment: an organization’s study of training

Assignment 2: RA 1: Experiment: An Organization’s Study of Training Programs Presentation
Individuals in the field of training and development need to be able to evaluate and compare various training methods to assure the best and most effective means to boost employee skills, improve staff performance, revitalize team dynamics, or encourage employee development and promotion.
For this assignment, you will design a faux experiment (you will design the experiment but will not actually conduct it). This experiment will compare different types of training modalities. You will include an explanation of how this task would be measured and achieved. It is a complex assignment that also builds on what you learned in your Research Methods course. Review the following definition, scenario, and directions to complete the assignment and summarize it in a presentation of approximately 6- to 8-slides.
Experimental Research Design Definition:
Morrison-Beedy and Melnyk (2012) provide a comprehensive definition for experimental research design:
The only type of research that allows us to draw conclusions about cause and effect relationships between an intervention or treatment and an outcome. A true experiment or randomized controlled trial is the strongest type of intervention study for testing cause and effect relationships. There are three components required in a true experiment: An intervention or treatment, a comparison or control group and random assignment of participants to experimental or comparison/control groups. (p. 1)
Scenario:
You are working as a consultant with a large national corporation and have been assigned the task to discover which training method option gives the best results for the organization. Specifically, leadership is interested in discovering which training modality has the best rate of training transfer.
Directions:
The training topic to compare will be “How to Design and Manage Effective Meetings.” In 6- to 8-slides (including detailed speaker’s notes), design an experiment that will compare the effectiveness of three different training modalities.

Analyze the following training methods:

On-site training
Virtual training
No training (this is your control group)

Design an experiment comparing three modalities of training. You should include “no training” as your control group.

Identify the three groups you will include in this experiment. What is included in these training modalities?
Identify the variables within this training study and explain how they will be manipulated or controlled.
Discuss how you will randomly assign your participants (i.e., employees in your organization) to each of these groups.
Analyze and determine the ethical considerations in such a study.
Determine how you will measure the results, particularly in regard to Kirkpatrick’s model.

With all of these elements explored, the next step is presenting this information to leadership. Discuss how you will approach the leadership team and present how you have designed and will conduct this experiment.

Your final product will be a Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation approximately 6- to 8-slides in length (including detailed speaker’s notes). You will utilize three to five scholarly sources in your research (beyond your textbook). Your presentation should be written in a clear, concise, and organized manner; demonstrate ethical scholarship in accurate representation and attribution of sources; and display accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

UNIT 6 ASSIGN1
Leadership Development: Philosophy, Governance, and Skills
In this assignment, you will address leadership skills and philosophies, and how the skills of the leader, as well as the leader’s management philosophy, impact service delivery. As part of this assignment, you will look at your own skills and consider the skills and practices of leaders you have observed.
This assignment has three components:

Imagine you are taking a leadership role for the organization you have identified in your previous assignments.

Describe the leadership role and title for your position.
Develop a leadership statement that you would use as your leadership philosophy in this role or position. Your leadership philosophy must reflect service delivery practices for all internal and external customers. The philosophy must also address the unique components of service delivery as a nonprofit, for-profit, or government organization.
Provide a rationale for the philosophy you identified.

Create a list of 10 to 15 leadership skills or competencies you believe will be important skills for you to have in assuming the leadership role you will be taking in your identified organization.

Provide a brief definition for each skill.
Evaluate how these skills are important for addressing the trends and competitive forces that influence the identified organization.
Include literature sources to support your decisions about the skills you identified.

Assess your competency at each of the skills you have identified above.

Select your level of mastery at each skill, using a scale of one to five, with five indicating you have achieved mastery and one indicating you believe you are still a novice at the skill.
Identify the top five skills you want to focus on for your professional development over the next three to five years.
Discuss what actions you believe you will need to take to improve your skills in each identified area.
Identify someone whom you might ask to mentor you for each skill area, and discuss how you would approach that person to obtain mentorship support.

Use the template provided in the assignment resources to complete the assignment.

UNIT 6 DISC1
Developing a Leadership Statement
Your Responsive Leadership in Social Services textbook discusses several domains for inspiration. Leadership development involves practices of self-reflection and seeking mentorship. These practices take time to develop and are likely to change over time based on specific situations, roles, programs, or processes.
In your initial post, discuss your reflections on the following question from the end of Chapter 6 in your textbook:
“What insights and strategies offered within the domains stimulated ideas or thinking for you around possibilities for inspiration?” (deGroot, 2016, p. 170).
How does a leader’s philosophy and ability to inspire others shape the capacity to build successful collaborative teams?

The purpose of school ( follow the guide to repond to two classmates)

Begin each of your responses by summarizing your two classmates main idea(s) and then offer your perspective and insights.

In the Ted video that I just watched, this short clip was very powerful I can say that I learned alot in just a few minutes. Ted was saying that creativity is important in education literacy, he also said that students are scared to be wrong, they always wanted to right. He also talked about Dynamic, he also went on to say that we as parents, teachers, etc, that we are the children hope that they are or job and that we have to help them, and also prepare them for whats to come in the world today. Once again this video open up my eyes to think about, things in a different way.
The common core state standards, Initiative in the United States that details with k-12 students should know English, Language Arts, and Mathematics at the end of each grade.
Have we created a trillion-dollar, multimillion-student, sixteen-year schooling cycle to take our best and our brightest and snuff out their dreams—sometimes when they’re so nascent that they haven’t even been articulated? Is the product of our massive schooling industry an endless legion of assistants? The century of dream-snuffing has to end. The real shortage we face is dreams, and the wherewithal and the will to make them come true. We’re facing a significant emergency, one that’s not just economic but cultural as well. The time to act is right now, and the person to do it is you.
We can teach them not to care; that’s pretty easy. But given the massive technological and economic changes we’re living through, do we have the opportunity to teach productive and effective caring? Can we teach kids to care enough about their dreams that they’ll care enough to develop the judgment, skill, and attitude to make them come true? (

What connections do you see to the ideas that Sir Ken suggested about school killing creativity?
Sir Ken suggested that all children have different way of learning. their learning at their pace, but because the school system is killing creativity it make it hard for children learn and teacher have to find a new way of teaching children.
Are a help or a hindrance in fostering creativity?
I think the Common Core Standards is a set high-quality academic standards in mathematics and English language art/literacy. However, these learning goals outline what children need know and be able to do at the end of each grade levels.
How would following Seth Gordon’s advice support or inhibit the ideas that our students need to be better prepared to compete against other in global economy?
Teacher are designed to ensure that children are prepared for entry-level careers, freshman-level college courses, and workforce training programs. Students need to able develop the critical-thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills students will need to be successful.
How would this advice inhibit or improve the ability for students to learn twenty-first century skills? Explain your thinking.
I believe that the standards are designed to prepared students for the outside the classroom. They include critical-thinking skills and the ability to closely and attentively read tests in a way that will help them understand and enjoy complex works of literature. Students will learn how to use cogent reasoning and evidence collection skills to be successful in the 21st century.

Bay area environment paper | Environmental science homework help

Introduction
Throughout this course we’ve investigated the basics of sustainability (Social Ecology Model), what sustainability means to different economy sectors, the longterm and short-term processes that shape our landforms, how climates play a role in our lifestyles and how our lifestyles affect microclimates, the importance of climate change on flooding and droughts, the health of the SF Bay estuary and how urbanization has affected biodiversity, the benefits and impacts of agriculture, how intricate and vital water resources are for our future, the value and problems of transportation on society, current and future energy use in California, the relevance of trees, parks and wilderness to an urban environment, and the enormity of urban garbage and waste. Although it is impossible for one individual to enact immediate change in all these areas, making small personal changes every day can help move the Bay Area towards a sustainable future.
Project Summary
Your final paper will be a minimum 1,500 word written synopsis of your personal impact on the Bay Area Environment. You need to address the topics covered in this course and how your lifestyle choices relate to each topic (e.g. carbon footprint, water footprint, energy use, transportation habits, dietary habits, etc.). You should consider formatting your synopsis around the scientific method/process, where you are asking a question (how can I change my lifestyle to promote a sustainable future), complete background research by gathering external sources to support your position, include data (numerical values of your carbon footprint, water footprint, etc.), and you should also discuss how the Bay Area as a whole can change (e.g. you can bike to school/work more often, but the Bay Area can invest in rebuilding our transportation infrastructure to promote increased public transit). Finally, a strong conclusion detailing how you, and all of those who call the Bay Area home, can reduce your personal impact on the Bay Area environment.
HERE IS THE CARBON FOOTPRINT; you can use it as your data.
https://depts.washington.edu/i2sea/?page=fpcalc
I. Introduction
• Addresses the topic & it’s importance
• Provide central question of your paper (i.e. how can I change my lifestyle to promote a sustainable future?)
II. Discussion
• Part I: Discuss your personal impacts on the Bay Area environment. This includes data from your previous labs. Include steps you can take to reduce our personal impact on the Bay Area environment. Discuss personal results and what results mean personally.
• Part II: Make connections between the different topics we’ve covered throughout the semester (e.g. how water use affects the agriculture industry, the energy sector, the environmental sector, etc.). Every topic we’ve discussed about the Bay Area environment affects some aspect of the other topics, so connect the dots, so-to-speak. I don’t want simple summaries of your previous lab reports. This final paper needs to connect everything together.
• Part III: Discuss how the Bay Area as a whole can change to promote a more sustainable future. You can discuss increasing our tree canopy cover, investing in green energy, improving our transportation network, etc. These are changes different from your personal changes discussed in the first body paragraph, but you can discuss how your personal changes will affect the societal changes (e.g. installing solar panels on your home). This section definitely needs supporting information from outside sources. There are numerous posted on iLearn to get you started. Don’t forget to cite the sources in the text of the paper and include a references section.
III. Conclusion
• Readdresses the overall topic & it’s importance
• Summarizes main points
• Proper formatting
• References

Case 4 | Literature homework help

Bill & Jean’s Restaurant
Mother’s Day is Bill & Jean’s Restaurant’s busiest day of the year. The restaurant has seating for 350 guests. On a normal Sunday the restaurant will serve a total of 1200 guests. Five years ago the original owners of Bill & Jean’s Restaurant, Bill and Jean, decided to try something different on Mother’s Day. On Mother’s Day the restaurant converted to all buffet service. The Mother’s Day buffets were an instant success and have been continued every year with the number of guests served increasing every year. Bill & Jean’s is well known for its elaborate Mother’s Day breakfast, brunch and dinner buffet.
The Mother’s Day buffet also becomes something looked forward to by all of the restaurant’s staff. A tradition had been established the rst year when Bill and Jean invited the immediate family members of all staff to be their guests for the breakfast buffet. A staggered schedule was even established that allowed the staff member to have 45 minutes to eat with their family.
Last year between 8am and 8pm the restaurant served 2800 guests, 50 of which were staff and their family members, up from 2550 the previous year. Bill and Jean decided to retire shortly after Mother’s day last year and sold the restaurant. The goal of the new owners is to increase the number of paying guests by fifteen percent this year for a total of 3048 paying guests. They have reviewed the previous year’s Mother’s Day sales and profitability. It is clear to them that the impact of the free meals for the staff member’s families on profitability and extra labor cost for the special scheduling has to be stopped. The cost is just too high.
The key to success on Mother’s Day at Bill & Jean’s has always been planning and execution of the plan grounded in a foundation of teamwork. Planning for the buffets began the week after Mother’s Day. Bill and Jean had started the planning process with the Mother’s Day team (better known as the MDT) of the managers and chef before leaving. After their departure the new owners, Ron and Jeff, took over the planning personally. They quickly made it known to the previous members of the MDT that there would be no “family comps or staff member eating with family” on the upcoming Mother’s Day.
Ron and Jeff know that too succeed in their goal on Mother’s Day the level of teamwork throughout the restaurant must be high. They are 1 month away from the big day and worried. Everything they have tried to maintain and increase the level of teamwork has failed. The staff just does not seem to have any enthusiasm for either the day-to-day business or the upcoming “big day.” A number of staff members have indicated that they are not willing to work overtime to do prep for or on Mother’s Day. Ron and Jeff have even heard rumors that members of the management team, including the chef, are looking at jobs with other restaurants.
Based on what you have learned from previous chapters and the content of this chapter answer the following questions.
Case Study Analysis Questions
• What is the overall reason for the challenges occurring in Bill & Jean’s Restaurant?
• What are the primary fundamental causes for the challenges occurring in Bill & Jean’s Restaurant?
• What specific steps could have been taken to avoid the current situation occurring in Bill & Jean’s Restaurant?

In Module 1, you were asked to review the assignment instruction for the Module 8 Portfolio Project. The Portfolio assignment requires that you select a local or state social issue to explore causes and possible solutions.  As an academic writer, it is vital you form a working thesis about your topic early, so that you can shape your research and form an inquiry plan about the research material that you will be using. You will also need to select and analyze key concepts of the topic early in the research process.
For this Critical Thinking Assignment, you are to compose a working thesis that takes a definite position on an arguable issue and maps a few of the main points you plan to explore. Specifically, your working thesis should state a problem, describe and evaluate at least one aspect of the cause, and offer one potential solution. Be sure to accurately decipher your assignment.  Your paper should accomplish the following:

Identify the particular topic you have decided on.
Develop a research question.
Describe a specific controversy that exists within this topic. Identify the sides (and there may be more than just two sides). Explain why each side has the beliefs it does.
Define which side you agree with and why.
State the overall claim that you want your essay to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt. (This will be your working thesis, and it is apt to change as you progress in later weeks.  It is fine to start simple, for now, and build in more complexity later.  Be sure to review the thesis tools used in this module.  Also consider this video on writing a thesis: “Developing a Thesis Statement.”

For example, one could explore the recent boom in real estate values in a specific area of the nation or world.  While such a situation could be positive, it’s also possible that any dramatic increase in the cost and availability of housing could cause problems for some people. Within this topic, key concepts need to be discovered such as: what are the effects of changes in home valuations or how does sudden population growth affect a city? You will need to state and clearly specify your approach and position on the topic and argue the validity of it. You will also need to understand any possible arguments against your position.
Before you make a final discussion, try brainstorming. Choose two or three potential topics and explore the key concepts involved to see if the topic holds your interest and is achievable.
Requirements:

Use third person.
Assert your academic voice.
Choose a topic related to a problem you would like to address and then ask a question about how to solve the problem.  The question must start with the phrase, “What would it take to . ..?” Answer the question with a thesis that names the problem, cause, and solution.
Describe why you made your final selection, and discuss in some detail the key concepts you think are important to that topic.
Cite at least two sources for this assignment. You will have to cite several credible sources in your final Portfolio Project, so start exploring credible sources now. In academic writing, it is always best practice to cite credible sources such as a scholarly journal article. The CSU-Global Library is an excellent place to search for credible, scholarly sources. The following resource at the CSU-Global Writing Center should help you assess a source as credible: Types of Sources.
Your written paper should be 2-3 pages in length not counting the required title and reference pages.
Your paper must be formatted according to CSU-Global Guide to Writing & APA.
