UDC Humes Philosophy Questions

After reading the passage, state:1) Hume’s point, and2) why he thinks it matters and its role in his overall philosophical world-view.“Suppose a person, though endowed with the strongest faculties of reason and reflection, to be brought on a sudden into this world; he would, indeed, immediately observe a continual succession of objects, and one event following another; but he would not be able to discover any thing farther.  He would not, at first, by any reasoning, be able to reach the idea of cause and effect; since the particular powers, by which all natural operation are performed, never appear to the senses; nor is it reasonable to conclude, merely because one event, in one instance, precedes another, that therefore the one is the cause, the other the effect.  Their conjunction may be arbitrary and casual. There may be no reason to infer the existence of one from the appearance of the other. And in a word, such a person, without more experience, could never employ his conjecture or reasoning concerning any matter of fact, or be assured of any thing beyond what was immediately present to his memory and senses.

Cereal to Cinnamon Toast Crunch Discussion

100 words response the followingI compared Special K original cereal to Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Both cereals contain around 25g of total carbohydrates. Of these total carbs Cinnamon Toast Crunch contains 9g of sugar while the special K contains 4g of sugar. Cinnamon Toast Crunch contains several added sugars including fructose. According to Harvard Health, higher intake of fructose is associated with obesity, heart disease and diabetes. This may be due to the fact that only the liver cells can break down fructose while any cell in the body can break down glucose. Although the Cinnamon Toast Crunch is whole grain and the special K is not, the Cinnamon Toast Crunch only offers and additional 1.5g of fat and 1g of fiber compared to Special K. Both cereals have roughly the same DV of vitamins and minerals and have been fortified, the addition of nutrients vitamins and minerals. Due to the fortification the whole grains in the Cinnamon Toast Crunch adds little to no additional nutrition benefits compared to special K. Although I do not eat cereal anymore if I had to decide between these two cereals today I would pick the Special K due to the lower sugar content (even at a larger serving size) and the exclusion of added sugars.

What are their self-perceptions with respect to what makes them competent in the eyes of others, what makes people like them, and what values they exhibit?b. Observe or recall a time in that group when an “incident” occurred. Who and / or what triggered the incident? What was the aspect that was threatened, and of which person? What was the interpersonal behavior expressed by the individuals involved (use the 12-choices framework)?c. Did you play a role in the incident / resolution?
