Describe your philosophy on discipline in relation to coaching athletics. How does discipline play a role in coaching? Do you have a high number of specific rules or a low number general rules that cover a variety of areas? Do you prefer to punish the entire team for one player’s mistake or do you prefer to discipline the individual player? What areas of behavior, both on and off the field, should be included in team rules? How should a coach handle athletes who break team rules? What should the consequences be for rule violations? Describe both positive and negative approaches to disciplining players and the implications of both. Explain your answers clearly and provide examples where appropriate.

Based on your own experience or research, what are some additional aspects of the role of that profession in regard to assisting victims notmentioned in the initial post? If possible, provide resources to your peers. Are there points in their response about how understanding victimology can help them in the profession they chose that you had not considered? Or are there points they did not consider that you think might be useful to mention?
For the profession chosen, I am choosing the dispatcher role. The dispatcher is the first point of contact for all victims or their families/anyone who has witnessed a victim of a crime or accident. They are the ones who are instructing the caller in what to do until help arrives, hearing the pain in the victim’s/families’ voices, and trying to contact emergency services. Understanding victimology in this role helps dispatchers to be more empathetic and understanding when trying to help over the phone. Being rude and yelling would not be helpful to someone who has been critically injured or experiencing a traumatic event.
Then, respond to two of your peers by addressing the following:

An ethical decision-making model is a tool that can be used by professionals in psychology to help develop the ability to think through an ethical dilemma and arrive at a responsible and ethical decision. This assesses your application of ethical decision-making by requiring critical thinking and analysis through your recommendations to an ethical dilemma. You work for a large corporation in human resources as a psychologist. In that capacity, it is your job to select and administer psychological tests that measure intelligence and cognitive ability as part of the employee selection process. The company has been hiring engineers and you notice that in the next group of prospects, many are recent immigrants from Pakistan, Korea, and India. You realize that the standardized tests you have been using do not seem to be culture-neutral and are biased toward native English speakers. Should you use different tests that are less culture-bound? How would you select assessments that are culture-neutral? What criteria would you use? What, if any, ethical issues are involved?

Discussion No. 5: SCOTUS
Alexander Hamilton wrote that the laws are a “dead letter without courts to expound and define their true meaning and operations” (writing as Publius in
Federalist No. 22). Why is this the case? How does the institution of the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) perform a function essential to government? How does it relate to the other branches? Elsewhere in
The Federalist, Hamilton writes that, from “the nature of its functions,” the judiciary “will always be the least dangerous to the political rights of the Constitution… It may truly be said to have neither
force nor
will, but merely judgment” (
Federalist No. 78). Is Hamilton’s view correct in your view, today? State the questions and give the answers below. Half work done will not be accepted.
