Where do you live in Colonial America?
A Letter to a Family Member
It is September 1776. The news of the Declaration of Independence has swept through the colonies, and you are just now learning of this historical event. You take pen to paper to write to a family member to reflect about what this means.
In your letter, make certain to discuss:
· Where do you live in Colonial America?
· Are you a patriot or a loyalist?
· Share with your family member at least one social, political, or economic event that you believe led the Continental Congress to write the Declaration of Independence. Why did this event lead to the writing of the Declaration of Independence?
· Do you believe that the Declaration of Independence was the correct course of action for the Continental Congress to take? Why, or why not?
· What actions will you take (whether required or volunteered) as America and Great Britain wage war?
Formatting your letter to a family member:
Since you are the author of the letter and sharing your perspectives (representative of that time) and experiences, a first-person narrative (I, me, us, we, etc.) is needed for this assignment.
Your letter must be at least two pages in length, double spaced, and written in Times New Roman, 12-point font. APA Style will not be required for this assignment. While APA is not required for this assignment, you will want to utilize resources to help develop strong information in your letter. However, be careful not to copy material from the sources. For this letter project, make certain to paraphrase the information (write the information in your own words). Use your sources for historical facts but write in your own words.
Which one of the 10 amendments that constitutes the Bill of Rights do you believe is the most important?
(U.S. National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.)
After completing the Required Unit Resources for Unit IV, carefully read the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The transcripts of these important documents can be found at the following websites:
U.S. National Archives and Records Administration. (n.d.). The Constitution of the Unites States: A transcription . https://www.archives.gov/founding-docs/constitution-transcript
U.S. National Archives and Records Administration. (n.d.). The Bill of Rights . https://www.archives.gov/founding-docs/bill-of-rights
Ratified in 1788, the U.S. Constitution is made up of a Preamble and seven articles that describe the way the United States’ government is structured and how it operates. Ratified in 1791, the first 10 amendments to the Constitution make up the Bill of Rights, which guarantee essential rights and civil liberties not specified in the U.S. Constitution.
After reading the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights, please respond to one of the following three questions:
1. Which one of the 10 amendments that constitutes the Bill of Rights do you believe is the most important?
2. Why do you believe the founding fathers and voting citizenry chose to incorporate this amendment in 1791?
3. Do you believe the importance of this Constitutional amendment has changed in the more than 225 years since its ratification?
Use break-even analysis to estimate the number of additional pairs of shoes Reebok would need to sell in order to cover the costs of the HRN tour.
Reebok is considering several marketing communications tools. One of these is the Human Rights Now! Tour. Most of our case discussion will focus on other aspects of the case, but I would like you to think about some important aspects of the HRN event. Please use the information provided in the case to carefully consider the HRN event for Reebok at the time of the case.
1) (6 points) When considering whether to use a specific marcom tool (in this
case, a sponsorship) break-even analysis can be useful in considering
possible effects of the tool. Use break-even analysis to estimate the number
of additional pairs of shoes Reebok would need to sell in order to cover the
costs of the HRN tour. Carefully consider the costs to Reebok. Be sure to state
your assumptions and to make it clear how you computed any numbers (for
example, if you have a formula “hidden” in an excel table, be sure to have a
statement of what the formula is). Please set up and find the solution yourself
without using “goal seek” in Excel. (I want you to have a good feel for what
you are doing). Use the information in the case. (I may ask someone to
present their BE analysis in class so be sure you have yours with you in
addition to handing it in Canvas).
2) (8 points) Think about what sponsorship of HRN could achieve for Reebok.
What communication goal or objective is the HRN tour likely to meet? That is,
1) who is the target that this event will reach; 2) what impact is this likely to
have on Reebok’s brand awareness; 3) what specific associations is the HRN
tour likely to build; 4) what are the associations Reebok’s other
communication are likely to make and are the likely HRN associations
consistent with these? Explain, using information from the case to address
each of these.

Point out the similarities and differences between the Russia state media and the United States free press. Is one more biassed then the other?
As discussed in lecture, most press under the Soviet Union and current Russian political climate is controlled by the government. Find a news article from the Russian news agency TASS regarding the recent Russian invasion of Ukraine. Then, find an article in the US mainstream media also discussing the war between the two countries. How is this incident being treated by the each media from the two countries? Point out the similarities and differences between the Russia state media and the United States free press. Is one more biassed then the other? What does this exercise tell you about the human geography of the Russian region?
The submission should be a world document, 12 point Times New Roman Font, half a page double spaced (name and header will not be counted towards text length), do not put a title page, and make sure to cite your sources. There should be at least two sources, one from TASS and the other from the American news source. Make sure you are following the APA citations

compute the annual percentage change in net income per common share-diluted (second numerical line from the bottom) for 1998–1999, 1999–2000, and 2000–2001.
Sun Microsystems (trends, ratios stock performance) (LO3) Sun Microsystems is a leading supplier of computer-related products, including servers, workstations, storage devices, and network switches.*
In the letter to stockholders as part of the 2001 annual report, President and CEO Scott G. McNealy offered the following remarks:
Fiscal 2001 was clearly a mixed bag for Sun, the industry, and the economy as a whole. Still, we finished with revenue growth of 16 percent—and that’s significant. We believe it’s a good indication that Sun continued to pull away from the pack and gain market share. For that, we owe a debt of gratitude to our employees worldwide, who aggressively brought costs down— even as they continued to bring exciting new products to market.
The statement would not appear to be telling you enough. For example, McNealy says the year was a mixed bag with revenue growth of 16 percent. But what about earnings? You can delve further by examining the income statement in Exhibit 4. Also, for additional analysis of other factors, consolidated balance sheet(s) are presented in Exhibit 5 on page 94.
- Referring to Exhibit 4, compute the annual percentage change in net income per common share-diluted (second numerical line from the bottom) for 1998–1999, 1999–2000, and 2000–2001.
- Also in Exhibit 4, compute net income/net revenue (sales) for each of the four years. Begin with 1998.
- What is the major reason for the change in the answer for Question 2 between 2000 and 2001? To answer this question for each of the two years, take the ratio of the major income statement accounts to net revenues (sales).
Identify a fixed cost, a variable cost, and a mixed cost that company would incur and explain how you determined that those costs would fit those behavior patterns.
This discussion is designed to get you to see the behavior of costs in companies with which they are familiar. You should identify and describe the company. Then, identify three different costs that behave differently. You should identify at least one fixed cost, variable cost and mixed cost and be able to justify their selections.
Think of a company with which you are familiar. Describe the company and their primary product(s)/service(s). Identify a fixed cost, a variable cost, and a mixed cost that company would incur and explain how you determined that those costs would fit those behavior patterns.

Which objectives did you develop to address these standards
Part 1: Find your State’s Academic Standards
Go to the Oklahoma State Department of Education, or the State Department of Education in your state of residence. Find Academic Standards in your state. In Oklahoma, these are under Services and Oklahoma Academic Standards. Choose a grade level and content area that you currently teach or would like to teach in the future. If you are currently teaching in higher education or Adult Basic Education, use the relevant standards and learning outcomes from your instructional context. Include a copy or link to these standards for your instructor to view.
Part B-For Assignment 1, you will write a professional growth plan on how you will use the skill of setting objectives for a classroom, district, or group of people that you currently work with or hope to work with in the future. Your objectives must be aligned with the standards you selected in Part 1 of Assignment 1. Adhering to APA guidelines, refer to your text and 1-3 outside resources in this plan. Be sure to cite your sources in the 500- to 600- word professional growth plan. Use these questions to guide your plan:
● Which standards did you choose to work? ● Which objectives did you develop to address these standards
(some states list objectives for you)? ● How will I use student-friendly language that clearly reflects the
content they will learn and the skills they will acquire? ● How will I ensure that objectives are linked to the Oklahoma
Academic Standards (or my state of residence) I have chosen? ● How will I include opportunities to determine students’ existing
knowledge and skills? ● In what ways will I reference objectives throughout the lessons?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZJGcnYAOPs
● How will I post learning objectives, so they are in clear sight of students and parents?
● How will I know students understand the objectives? ● How will I connect activities to the learning objectives? ● How can I help students make connections between current
objectives and those of previous lessons, so it is clear how they all fit in the overall course or theme?
● How will I measure my progress as a teacher and the impact on student learning?
Part C-
Professional Growth Plan for Providing Feedback
For Assignment 2, you will continue to practice the skill of reflecting on your practice and write a professional growth plan that you will use to ensure you provide feedback to your students. Adhering to APA guidelines, refer to your text and 1-3 outside resources in this plan. Be sure to cite your sources in the 500- to 600- word professional growth plan. Use these questions to guide your plan:
● How will I be sure to provide feedback in a timely manner? ● How will I develop well-defined rubrics to evaluate students’ work
or performance? ● How will I ensure the feedback I provide is specific enough to help
students improve on their knowledge and skills, which align with the objectives I’ve chosen?
● How will I know that I am providing corrective feedback, rather than praise for effort?
● How will I help students develop their own feedback and correct their work until it is acceptable?
● How will I measure my progress as a teacher and the impact on student learning?https://d2l.macu.edu/content/enforced/55521-ED524309W122FS/Self_Reflection_and_Professional_Growth_Planning.pptx?_&d2lSessionVal=p5OS9bTVfONnD1WtwOz52r0idhttps://d2l.macu.edu/content/enforced/55521-ED524309W122FS/Self_Reflection_and_Professional_Growth_Planning.pptx?_&d2lSessionVal=p5OS9bTVfONnD1WtwOz52r0idhttps://www.edutopia.org/blog/tips-providing-students-meaningful-feedback-marianne-stenger
