10. Influenza
Epidemiology Paper Requirements
1. Describe the chosen communicable disease, including causes, symptoms, mode of transmission, complications, treatment, and the demographic of interest (mortality, morbidity, incidence, and prevalence). Is this a reportable disease? If so, provide details about reporting time, whom to report to, etc.
2. Describe the social determinants of health and explain how those factors contribute to the development of this disease.
3. Discuss the epidemiologic triangle as it relates to the communicable disease you have selected. Include the host factors, agent factors (presence or absence), and environmental factors. Are there any special considerations or notifications for the community, schools, or general population?
4. Explain the role of the community health nurse (case finding, reporting, data collection, data analysis, and follow-up) and why demographic data are necessary to the health of the community.
5. Identify at least one national agency or organization that addresses the communicable disease chosen and describe how the organizations contribute to resolving or reducing the impact of disease.
6. Discuss a global implication of the disease. How is this addressed in other countries or cultures? Is this disease endemic to a particular area? Provide an example.
A minimum of three peer-reviewed or professional references is required.

Describe why, in general, raising radio frequency (RF) levels improves the carrier-to-noise ratio
Wireless Networking and Security Exam 1
Question 1: Simplify the following expression (10 pts):
cos (2πft + π/2) + sin(2πft – π) Question 2: Support the fact that, in a transmission system using radio frequencies, increasing the transmission frequency by a factor of 3 incurs a penalty (loss) of approximately 9.5 dB (10 pts). Question 3: How much bandwidth does a communication channel need to achieve a capacity of 40 Mbps with a Signal-to-Noise ratio of 255? (Note: 1 Mbps is 1,000,000 bps) (10 pts) Question 4: Given the following parameters:
N = number of hops between two end systems L = message length in bits (e.g., length of the original message, before being divided in several packets) B = data rate in bps, on all links P = fixed packet size in bits H = overhead (header) in bits per packet D = propagation delay per hop in second
The number of packets (Np) required to send the original message of length L (in bits) can be computed as:
𝑁𝑁𝑝𝑝 =  𝐿𝐿
𝑃𝑃 − 𝐻𝐻
The total end-to-end time delay for packet switching is calculated using the formula:
T = Np * (P/B) + (N-1) * (P/B) + N * D Let us assume that L/(P-H) is an integer. What value of P, as a function of N, L, and H would minimize the end-to-end time delay? (10 pts) Question 5: A Virtual Channel Identifier (VCI), in the header of an ATM cell, is used for routing to and from the end user. Explain why a VCI is needed together with the Virtual Path Identifier (VPI). (10 pts) Question 6: Is there a need for a network layer in a broadcast network? Justify your answer. (10 pts)
Question 7: Describe the significance of the following IPv4 header fields (10 pts):
(a) Time to live (b) Protocol Question 8: The transmit power of a station is 57.67 dBm (10 pts).
(a) How much power in KW is this equivalent to? (b) Using an antenna with 1 GHz carrier frequency, what will be the received power in dB at
a free space distance of 0.5 km? Question 9: Research Problem: Describe in detail the various diversity techniques in wireless communication systems (10 pts). Question 10: Research Problem: What is carrier-to-noise ratio (CNR)? Describe why, in general, raising radio frequency (RF) levels improves the carrier-to-noise ratio (10 pts).

How do artistic women create within defined roles and images of women?
Over the centuries, this debate about women’s nature, “the woman question,” included such claims as it is in women’s nature to be weak and fragile. The debates often claim that weakness is inherent in females, rather than focusing on the way women are taught and/or socialized. Furthermore, the debate goes, women are suited only for domesticity because of their nature. It has even been argued that women have no souls. Most importantly in our discussion throughout this course is the way these restrictions on women’s lives have impacted their creative expression. In Week 1, we learn how gender ideology has impacted women’s creative expression and its visibility in society.
Our focus is on Renaissance women in Week 1, but we look at how contemporary women are still resisting ideas about women that began as early as the Renaissance period. The Renaissance “ideal lady” was an idealized woman who was defined as virtuous, pious, and modest, and though she may have been encouraged to be artistic, because of persistent ideas about women’s gender her creativity was deemed important only to charm and entertain men in the court, or was relegated to remain in a convent or the home. As we have seen, these ideas about women (ideology) restricted her creativity and visibility. Significantly, the visibility of women’s creative production is still an issue partly because of gender ideology centuries old.
For this week’s journal, discuss in three to four pages how gender ideology impacts women’s creative expression. Illustrate your discussion with examples of creative women from the Renaissance period. Your examples should come from our required or recommended resources and represent at least two different genres (for example, poetry, painting, sculpture). Explain how ideas about women’s nature and role impacted women’s work. Finally, after viewing the multimedia, conclude with a reflection on how the contemporary activism of the Guerilla Girls addresses the similar issues in today’s art world.
To help you explore this journal, consider some of the following questions:
· What role does she play in her life (courtesan, wife, mother, nun, aristocrat, etc.)?
· How does that role support or discourage her creative expression and her visibility?
· Does she resist or comply with the expected norms of her gender?
· How do artistic women create within defined roles and images of women?
A stressed employee who goes for a walk on a nature trail in the middle of the workday is using what type of coping mechanism?
Case Analysis (Capital One )
How often do you feel like you need to blow off some steam at the end of a pressure-filled day? Imagine if you could walk from your office to a state-of-the-art fitness facility that included basketball, racquetball, lighted tennis courts, and sand volleyball courts. How about softball fields, exercise floors, and equipment for strength training and cardiovascular activities? Add nature-based walking trails and a tai chi garden that you could use whenever you wanted. You could have all these as part of your benefits package if you were an employee of Capital One, one of the fastest-growing and most admired financial services providers in the world today.
Capital One grew from a small spin off division of a larger financial company in 1994 to #112 on the Fortune 500 today. The company has earned numerous honors such as being listed as #17 on the 2017 Fortune“100 Best Companies to Work For”list. Other awards include excellence in LGBT equality, disability equality, and as a G.I. spouse-friendly workplace. Many of the company’s honors are related to policies that reduce stress, such as onsite medical care, compressed workweeks, virtual meeting training for working at home, and paid time off for volunteering. Consistent with the value it places on the health and well-being of employees, Capital One invested millions of dollars in world-class fitness centers at many of its locations. The company also collected data to assess whether participation rates in those centers were associated with benefits to the company. Results showed that investments in first-class fitness centers and other amenities that create a more positive work environment pay off in increased productivity and reduced health care costs. These findings match scientific research showing that participation in fitness activities reduces stress levels, risk of coronary heart disease, and memory loss.

When you envision the ideal early childhood classroom, you see children working in
groups, getting along, demonstrating problem-solving skills, and being totally engaged
in the stellar lesson or activity you have created. However, as we all know, that
classroom does not just “happen.” It takes a tremendous amount of effort and
preparation on the teacher’s part for this harmony to exist. Teachers must let their
students know their expectations. This is generally done by teaching the rules of the
classroom. In addition to stating the rules and procedures, a teacher must respond to
children’s actions both positive and negative in order to demonstrate their expectations.
This way, appropriate expected classroom behavior can become the classroom norm,
instead of the exception so that you can spend your time engaging with your students in
the amazing, creative lessons you have created instead of dealing with negative
behavior.http://writingcenter.uagc.edu/apa-stylehttps://uaglobalcampus.vitalsource.com/books/9780134091
