Things you should know: My desired major is political science, I am a first generation student, I am an immigrant, when I enrolled into first grade I only spoke Spanish and had to learn before the school year ended or I would be held back and I was able to learn English because my first grade teacher helped me a lot. I struggle a lot with mental health, I have bipolar depression, anxiety, have had attempts of suicide, am in the progress of getting an adhd diagnosis and that caused me to struggle a lot in the first 2 years of college but I am doing better now (transferring to a university after 3 years of community college) I write a lot, mostly in English, I like writing short stories, poems, essays etc. I love reading and analyzing text. I am queer. I am not out because it’s not safe to be.

I work with special needs children/adults and one of the high school students that has down syndrome said he was going to college which made me think if he can do why can’t I.
I think with working with people with disabilities has made me realize that this population needs more help in the medical field and in general. Which makes me want to help the less unfortunate. I also volunteer at the hospital in the oncology department ( I have over 400+ hours)
