Week 5 problems (mkt6250 healthcare marketing)

Week 5 Problemsÿ
Chapters 11 and 12
1. In recent years, several nationally known healthcare providers have established satellite facilities a great distance from their main clinic locations. ÿThe Mayo Clinic of Rochester, Minnesota, has opened facilities in Arizona, Florida, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota as well as an office for referrals in Mexico City. ÿThe Cleveland Clinic has opened a Brain Institutes in Nevada, a facility in Florida, and a hospital in Abu Dhabi and a recently opened hospital in London. ÿAs the chapter also described, the Hospital for Special Surgery has opened multiple locations beyond its sole location in mid-town Manhattan with a separate hospital in Florida. ÿExplain the changes in distribution intensity these actions represent.
2. A primary care group has dramatically increased its availability to patients over the past 10 years. As the group added partners, it expanded from its initial single location to the current four satellite locations over that period. ÿThe next phase of focusing on access was an after-hours clinic option that rotated one night each week across each location. ÿThis approach allowed the physicians as well as the staff to have some quality-of-life balance but still service patient needs. ÿIn the past year, the group also followed that approach with weekend hours. ÿSome of the younger partners in the group have increasingly suggested that these approaches may be beneficial in today’s marketplace, but they are insufficient in response to customer expectations. ÿA core number of the physicians have suggested that it is a twofold challenge not only of leakage but also of not even knowing where patients are going for after-hour care. ÿThe group has a strong brand name and has 42 primary care physicians and 15 nurse practitioners. ÿThe group has recently allowed patients to schedule appointments online through the patient portal, but a significant number of the physicians were resistant to the change. To maintain the group’s access advantage, what are three possible approaches this group might consider?
3. A hospital marketing director has examined her promotional budget over the past few years. ÿShe has examined her efforts and expenditures and has determined that a significant proportion has been directed to paid media. ÿAt the same time, she has determined that the public is increasingly concerned with fake news and is turning more toward the opinions of friends and acquaintances. ÿIn that regard, she wants to place greater focus on her integrated marketing strategy with an emphasis on earned media. ÿHighlight an approach that might lead to heightened results for the healthcare organization achieving success in the earned media dimension of the integrated marketing component. What are three tactics she might consider?
4. Mary Hayes is the director of patient engagement in a relatively large city in the upper Midwest. In a strategic planning committee meeting, the marketing director had presented an overview of the latest demographic projections of the region, which were somewhat disconcerting. ÿ“The region is showing a large outgrowth and decline among several important demographic groups,” the marketing director noted. ÿ“There is a 1.6% decline in the important demographic of 26- to 40-year-olds reflective of our declining economic opportunities for jobs, and there is a decline in the 60- to 75-year-olds, who are moving to retirement locations.”
ÿThe group agreed that this was a situation facing many similar communities in the upper Midwest, but the hospital had two competitors of good size in the region. ÿProvide your recommendations as to strategies to consider at this stage of the life cycle for the organization and the market.
End of chapter conceptual problems evaluate your understanding of key concepts and elements of the Health Care Marketing learned in the chapters. Showing an understanding of the problems using clear logic and supporting facts, you must address the problems analytically and thoroughly. The Assignment must follow the following guidelines:
1. You must use citations with references to document information obtained from sources. The key elements of Health Care Marketing are found in the sources listed in this syllabus (it is your duty to search for them, read, analyze, evaluate, summarize, paraphrase in your answers, and cite the authors who wrote the articles, books, term papers, memoirs, studies, etc. What it means is that you will have not less than 4 references from the listed sources.
2. Grammatically correct paper, no typos, and must have obviously been proofread for logic.
3. Problem numbers must be typed out as headings, with follow-up answers in paragraph format.
The Assignment must be in APA format

UCSBA Communications Essay

Anonymous assignment submission is an inherent requirement of Assignment 3: Anonymous marking allows teachers to grade student assignments without seeing any information that identifies students. This method is seen to prevent unconscious bias when grading student submissions.Identify your assignment ONLY by your 9-digital student identification number.Write your student number on the assignment, and on the upload file. DO NOT POST YOUR SIMPLE EXTENSION APPROVAL ON CANVAS (it includes your name).Your teacher receives the list of all approved simple extensions.Thank you for your co-operation on this important aspect of the assignment.Assignment 3 Preamble: In this assignment, counter-narrative storytelling takes the form of writing to rewrite and counter dominant narratives.Research question: How do media students and other marginalised voices contest dominant narratives, develop counter-narratives that address global issues of concern, and contribute to more diverse global media dialogue? Managing exceptions: Review the marking rubric, attached below, as it details the criteria you are marked on, and the ratings showing the levels of achievement.Task: Counter-narrative storytelling: Write a counter-narrative on a global issue of concern self-evidently related to MECO6926 coursework.Due Date: Sunday 21 May 2023 @ 11.59pm.Weight: 45%, must attempt.Length: 3 story lines, 2700 words, +/- 10%, excluding references. Marking criteria: Rubric details the four criteria and how points are awarded.Individual work: Marked by teaching team. -mandated anonymous marking. No names. Student number on upload-file and assignment. Learning support: Exemplars of counter-narrative story-tellingOutcomes assessed: LO1, LO2, LO3, LO4, LO7RationaleIn the long run, successful completion of Assignment 3 may open a pathway to professional media employment and inclusion in the global media dialogue, by deepening your understanding of masternarratives, enhancing your counter-narrative writing skills, and increasing your media voice, visibility, and influence. This is the most important overall outcome in this unit of study.DescriptionSummative assessment. Requires integration of formative learning (LO1-LO4) and counter-narrative storytelling (LO7). Individual task. Each student will define their own learning goals, work plan, counter-narrative storytelling, and conclusions to complete the assignment.Counter-narrative storytelling/writing is supported by learning resources found in Modules 8-12 and regular class discussion. For example, to view individual counter-narrative writing, go to Module 11 and read exemplars of the ‘Flipping the narrative’ series (The New Humanitarian, 2023). Relevant global issues of concern discussed in MECO6926 seminars, and often detailed in G-North/G-South media, include:addressing injustice and oppression of the world’s First Nations peoples; decolonizing global news-flows; critical challenges to journalism in the globalization era; state responses to the rise of online hate speech; marginalised voices in the global media dialogue; domestic workers’ struggles for decent wages & security; challenging racism and islamophobia; women’s right to choose how they dress in Iran; modern slavery and force child labour; media visibility of issues confronting humanity — environment & disasters, migration, human rights, conflict, aid and policy, and climate change. DetailsConsider a range of content choices for your counter-narrative writing: What story do I want to tell? What narrative replaces the master or ?oppressive? narrative? What knowledge, values, or perspectives will I promote? What is the purpose of my counter-narrative?Go to the ‘Counter-narrative storytelling’ page to engage with a range of MECO6926 readings to inform, frame and enrich your counter-narrative writing. Rehnberg & Grafstr”m (2020) argue the media landscape has become a ?narrative jungle?. (p. 213). In their view, ?narratives now emerge and are transformed throughout the discursive struggle? rather than a simple dichotomy between masternarratives and counter-narratives. This perspective naturalizes the flow and contra-flow of global media dialogue around the issues confronting humanity, and suggests the importance of nuanced counter-narrative writing.PresentationYour assignment should include, but is not restricted to the following elements:Introduction to your counter-narrative (e.g., global issue of concern, evidence of ?narrative struggle? in international media content, purpose of research).Disciplinary framing of your research (e.g., frame your research by substantive discussion of relevant MECO6926 readings). Your counter-narrative writing (e.g., structure the counter-narrative using relatable storylines). Conclusion that integrates commentary on the target audience for your counter-narrative, and a brief reflection on its audience appeal.List of references in APA-7th style, with all readings and news/media correctly cited.Include subheadings and images as needed.

This should describe what has drawn you to this particular issue from the standpoint of your process of becoming an educator. You should draw upon your experience as a basis for your pedagogical rationale.
A description of how this question and proposed research reflects a specific PPR competency (at least one competency linked, but you can include more)

A brief description of the problem and the instructional strategy to be used to enhance teacher practice and promote student learning:

Briefly identify the problem to be addressed and why it was selected. The problem may relate to instructional strategies, approaches to assessment, use of culturally relevant materials, classroom management, or a problem agreed upon with the instructor.
Describe what you have selected to do as a strategy in the classroom and why you believe this will have an impact on your teaching ability as well as student learning.

Review of the literature

Discussion of theory, research and findings from at least 3 (one can be from our textbook and 2 articles) that presents a logical argument for your strategy:

The literature review should present a concise argument supporting the strategy you have selected by addressing:

The theoretical/pedagogical basis of the intervention
The research base supporting the intervention?s effectiveness

Description of the strategy to be used, with specific attention to procedure and implementationÿ

Describe how you will implement the strategy and the type of evaluative data that you would collect to assist in answering your research question(s).
Describe the assessment and evaluation methods to be employed and how they will address the research question.

As a future educator, you will be responsible for solving a variety of challenges that occur in the classroom. Consider the questions below as you share how you will use the lessons learned in this assignment to be able to respond to student needs.

How will you transfer this strategy into your future classroom?
What resources will you need to be successful?
How will you know the strategy is successful? What evidence will you use to support your success measure?

Counter Argument for strategy

SOC 450 Adler The Impact of Climate Change on Food Security Essay

write a minimum of a 5-page persuasive paper for the United Nations councilthat addresses the following questions about the relationship between atmospheric weatherpatterns and food security in the developing world: DO NOT INCLUDE THE ACTUALQUESTION IN YOUR PAPER: SIMPLY INCLUDE A SHORT TOPIC LABEL (see #7under Guidelines)1. Climate change and global warming are often used interchangeably, but they are not thesame phenomenon. What are the differences between the two concepts and whatleads to the confusion between them?2. In 1900, the average global temperature was about 13.7ø Celsius (56.7ø Fahrenheit)(Osborn, 2021), but as of 2020, the temperature has risen another 1.2øC to 14.9øC(58.9øF). According to the Earth and climate science community, if the Earth?s surfacetemperature rises another 2øC (3.6øF), we will suffer catastrophic weather patterns that, among other things, will raise sea levels, cause widespread droughts and wildfires, resultin plant, insect, and animal extinctions, and reduce agricultural productivity throughoutthe world (Mastroianni, 2015 and Lindsey & Dahlman, 2020). How much credibility doyou place in these projections? Why?3. There is no question that the Earth?s food sources are threatened by changes in itsweather patterns, but what specific challenges does climate change pose to the foodsecurity of people in the developing world?4. There is currently a debate among some multinational lending agencies like theInternational Monetary Fund, UNICEF, and AID over the financial support for foodsecurity has been misused by recipient government officials. On the other hand, U.S.authorities insist that misuse of its assistance is not occurring because it has strictmonitoring oversight in place. What is your position on this matter? Is there evidencethat financial assistance to developing governments is being widely misused bygovernment officials?Guidelines and Selection of Developing Country for this assignment:1. This course requires the use of Strayer Writing Standards (SWS). For assistance andinformation, please refer to the SWS link in the left-hand menu of your course and checkwith your professor for any additional instructions.2. Your paper must be divided into required pages of content (one page to address each ofthe four questions above) and include at least a one-half page introduction and a one-halfpage conclusion ? yielding a total of five full pages of text.3. Begin your paper with a complete Introduction that includes your role as a hiredUnited Nations consultant, the purpose of this assignment and why this research isimportant. You may add more content, however, at a minimum please include thesefactors in your introduction. A written Abstract is not required for this paper.4. Select one (1) Developing Country for Questions 3 and 4. You will find thelist of developing countries in the World Bank List of Developing Countries in theCourse Info section of BlackBoard. I prefer that you select two (2) developing countriesin case one country?s climate change and food security information is more difficult tolocate.ReferencesLiz Osborn. 2021.
