Case study: Explain and discuss if the system failed to protect Kristin and if so why?
Read the following Case Study: https://content.grantham.edu/at/PA301/9780618993017%20pg%2064%20to%2075%20BA301.pdf
Respond to the following questions (be sure to reflect upon the elements of the bureaucracy described in Chapter 2 prior to the case study):
Was this the best way to go to protect Kristin. Do you suggest any other ways to go about it? What are your suggestions and why?
Explain and discuss if the system failed to protect Kristin and if so why?
There were many elements of bureaucracy that were present, which one was the biggest issue and why was it?
Please respond to the initial question by day 5 and be sure to post two additional times to peers and/or instructor by day 7. The initial post by day 5 should be 75 to 150 words, but may go longer depending on the topic. If you use any source outside of your own thoughts, you should reference that source. Include solid grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, and spelling.
Why is Mars considered so inhospitable?
The idea of sending people to Mars in hopes of colonizing the planet has long been out of the realm of possibilities but big thinkers like Elon Musk are determined to keep trying (link:https://www.space.com/41935-mars-base-alpha-2028-elon-musk.html).
From what you have learned from this class:
Why is Mars considered so inhospitable?
What would be needed to ensure humans could survive on Mars? In particular, where would we get our food, our oxygen, our water and our energy?
If you were tasked with sending people to Mars, give a time-line of how they would get there, what would they bring, how long would they stay and what advice you would give anyone who wanted to go?
Make sure to:
Write a short essay or paragraph of at least 300 words.
Use concrete examples/details and avoid generalities.
Address all questions.
Use proper grammar and punctuation.
If you researched your topic and are using information from what you learned, remember to cite your sources.
Include at least 2 references in your discussion and cite your sources.
Explain the cause(s) and consequences of each of the events outlined in your timeline.
Scenario
You are the Director of Education in your healthcare organization. Your organization is a teaching hospital, and you are responsible for presenting information to new employees and volunteers during their orientation, many of whom are recent graduates of healthcare programs. This presentation is used to give them a better understanding of why the healthcare system is the way it is today, including a summary of historical events that have shaped the U.S. healthcare system, so that they understand the causes and consequences of these events.
Instructions
Create a timeline for the historical events that have shaped the U.S. healthcare system in the past century. Once the timeline has been developed, create a PowerPoint presentation using the record audio feature to add Voiceover narration.
The timeline information should include:
A minimum of 20 events with a minimum of a three sentence description for each event.
Descriptions should list at least one cause as to why the event took place and at least one consequence it had on the U.S. healthcare delivery system.
The voiceover PowerPoint presentation should:
Include the timeline information for the historical events that have shaped the U.S. healthcare system in the past century.
Describe the events in detail included in the timeline to your audience of new employees and volunteers who are graduates of healthcare programs (e.g., nurses, medical assisting, health information management, medical school residency, etc.).
Explain the cause(s) and consequences of each of the events outlined in your timeline.
Have a minimum of 20 slides (not including title and APA reference slides).
Be at least 10 minutes long.
Be visually appealing and engaging to the suggested audience.
discuss what have you learned about high performance and balanced scorecard/competing forces?
Note that each question is separate and should be answered using bloom’s theory, which is outlined in my original request.
Using bloom’s critical thinking theory please answer each question:
1. Assessing Outcomes:Based on your readings, discuss what have you learned about high performance and balanced scorecard/competing forces? Are measures missing? What measures are superior? (As always, be sure to draw from and cite relevant reference materials)
Based on your readings, what have you learned about high performance and balanced scorecard/competing forces? Are measures missing? What measures are superior?
What is your root cause analysis of what makes an organization high performing?
What is your new idea for making the process better?
2. Define what quality healthcare means from the perspective of Public health
Here’s blooms theory again:
Knowledge: “Here’s what I know about xxxxx after researching the most recent scholarly journals and articles.” Then show what you know or have come to know. Note whether this information is new to you, solidifies your preconceived notions or changes your knowledge set by introducing factors you had not considered. For the Org paper show that you clearly know the organization, how/why it is structured etc.
Comprehension: “Beyond knowing what the scholars are saying about xxxxx, I understand the following dynamics/complexities/intricacies about xxxxxx and the diversity of thought about the issues.” Expand beyond knowledge to understanding. A non healthcare example would be the difference between knowing the names of the planets vs understanding our galaxy.
Application: “To apply the principles from knowledge and comprehension of the issues I can transfer these concepts from theory to practice and demonstrating learning by applying them to a real life situation” Here is a case study that shows application or…..here is my application of xxxxx principles to a real life situation from my experience.”
Analysis: “ My cause and effect analysis is that zzzzzzz drives these issues. This is a root cause analysis” My comparative analysis shows that X compared to Y shows the similarities and differences in the issues. Knowing what causes or drives these issues deepens my understanding of “why” things exist as they do.
Synthesis: “After understanding these issues and the inherent problems I searched for a best practice. I found (citation) is considered a best practice/organizational structure in addressing these problems.” But even a best practice needs improvement. Therefore my new and unique idea, building on best practices, is to xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx” I researched to see if this is a new idea and whether it has been done/tried. It has/has not.

Explain how a therapist may use this information on your topic to help a client define healthy sexuality and how having that understanding can help the client make wise decisions in their relationships.
The purpose of this assignment is to research one of the topics you have covered in this course. You will collect 10 scholarly research articles written within the last 10 years on a particular topic related to sex and sexuality (i.e. pornography, extramarital affair, teen pregnancy, homosexuality, etc.).
Articles should come from scholarly research sources. You will then write and submit a 10-page paper with the following 3 main sections relevant to these articles:
1. Article Summaries: Summarize the main points of the selected articles.
2. Compare and contrast the information presented in the articles with the content presented in class.
3. Explain how a therapist may use this information on your topic to help a client define healthy sexuality and how having that understanding can help the client make wise decisions in their relationships.
Papers will be written in current APA format and should include a title page, abstract, and reference page which are not part of the 10 body pages of the paper.
The paper should be a minimum of 10 pages of content (this does not include title page, abstract, or reference page).

Edward Glaser (1941) defined critical thinking as “a persistent effort to examine any belief or supposed form of knowledge in the light of the evidence that supports it and the further conclusions to which it tends”. In light of this definition, how does inductive and deductive reasoning play a role in critical thinking and crime scene exploration, investigation and resolution? Is one more effective than the other? Why or why not?

What does Sartre mean when he writes that, “existence precedes essence?”
Answer one of the following questions based in 100 words based on the attach document.
Jean-Paul Sartre, ‘Existentialism is a Humanism’ (1946)
1. First, I would like you to think about the central principle of Existentialism. What does Sartre mean when he writes that, “existence precedes essence?” (p.3.).
(Answer the question in your own words. Also find examples in the text).
2. Also, shortly afterwards, Sartre writes, “If, however, it is true that existence is prior to essence, man is responsible for what he is.” What does Sartre mean by this? (p.3-4.)
(Again, answer in your own words, and find examples in the text).
3. When Sartre writes, “Our responsibility is thus much greater than we had supposed, for it concerns mankind as a whole” (4).
What does Sartre mean?
(Again, find examples in the text).
4. For Sartre, why is “anguish” a “condition of action itself?” (p.4-5.). And what does he mean when he writes that, “…action presupposes that there is a plurality of possibilities, and in choosing one of these…it has value only because it is chosen” (4-5).
(Answer the question in your own words, and find examples in the text to support your points).
5. What does Sartre mean when he states that “man is condemned to be free?”(5).
(Find examples in the text, and answer in your own words).
6. Why does Sartre use the example of the student who lives with his mother during the war, and who has approached Sartre for advice? How does this example help to prove Sartre’s arguments about ethics, values, and choice? What does Sartre want to say through this example? (5-6).
(Answer the question in your own words, and use examples).
7. What does Sartre mean when he states that:
:“”Man is nothing else but what he purposes, he exists only in so far as he realizes himself, he is therefore nothing else but the sum of his actions, nothing else but what his life is.” (7).?
(Answer the question in your own words, and find examples in the text).
8. As an ethical philosophy that according to Sartre, is misunderstood for its pessimism, how does existentialism, in fact, provide an “optimistic” view of life? (8).
(Find examples in the text).
9. What is the connection between existentialism and “humanity” (“humanism”)? (9-10).
(Answer the question in your own words, and find examples in the text).
10. Finally, do you find Sartre’s views about existentialism convincing?
And as an ethical theory, how might Sartre’s reading change the way that you view and live your own life today?
Do you agree or disagree with the central arguments of existentialism?
