Describe the Tripartite (or Triune) Nature of Man described in the above article.

Since the field of Biological Psychology presents a strong evolutionist view of man, it is very important that you are also exposed to a biblical understanding of the nature of man. Therefore, this first forum will focus on the differences between what secular science says and what the Bible says about the nature of man.

For this week’s discussion, please read the article on the Tripartite Man at this link (https://bible.org/seriespage/2-man-trinity-spirit-soul-body) and then answer the following question:

Throughout our class, you will notice a focus on the biological, genetic, and neurological aspects of human development and human experience. We will spend much time in our class on the biological components of behavior, with the human experience of many psychological & cognitive phenomenon being reduced to their biological foundations. While the biological components of behavior are very important, it is also important to consider the spiritual components of the self as well.

For our Week 1 discussion, please read the article at the link above and discuss the following:

Describe the Tripartite (or Triune) Nature of Man described in the above article.
Discuss how the Tripartite Man approach differs from a strictly biological approach to understanding individuals.
Discuss how the Tripartite Man approach can inform your study of physiological psychology in our course.

Case Study: The T-Mobile Hack

Recently a hacker was able to access the wireless carrier T-Mobile’s network and read the private emails and personal files of hundreds of customers. The government revealed that emails and other sensitive communications from the Secret Service agent investigating the incident were among those obtained by the hacker. The agent, Peter Caviccha, was apparently using his own personal handheld computer to view emails while travelling. His supervisors were apparently aware of this, since they frequently directed emails to his personal email address while he was travelling. The agency had a policy in place that disallowed agents from storing work-related files on personal computers. The hacker was able to view the names and Social Security numbers of 400 T-Mobile customers, and they were notified in writing regarding the security breach. T-Mobile has more than 63 million customers in the United States. The network attack occurred over a seven-month period and was discovered during a broad investigation by the Secret Service while studying several underground hacker organizations. Nicolas Lee Jacobson, a computer engineer from Santa Anna, California, was charged in the cyberattack after investigators traced his online activities to a hotel where he was staying. He was later arrested and then been released on a $25,000 bond.

1. What role did the culture displayed by Caviccha and his supervisors play in the case?

2. Were additional charges warranted against the agent if agency rules were violated?

3. Which type of culture, hierarchical or hybrid, was displayed, and did the type of culture play a role in charges against the agent?

4. What additional security measures are required to prevent eavesdropping on wireless communications?

Do you believe that companies are putting too much emphasis on marketing products towards young children?

As we study the concept of a target market, we begin to understand how important it is for businesses and organizations to identify their primary market/customers and direct marketing communication towards this group. Over the years businesses have designed strategies to include young children ages 6-9 in their potential target market, knowing that when these children grow into consumers, they may have a more favorable image of the businesses’ product. Companies now spend around $16 billion per year advertising to this market segment. Sometimes these strategies can be quite unethical—just google Joe Camel a marketing campaign from R J Reynolds.

Describe personal frames of reference regarding cultural, linguistic, and gender differences.

classroom leaders, teachers have many opportunities to encourage everyone to respect people of all backgrounds and abilities, and promote a positive classroom environment that supports learning and decreases disruptive behavior. Teachers should reflect on their own values and beliefs in order to understand any underlying effects these beliefs may have on their instruction and interaction styles with students. Such awareness can help teachers be more objective, have more empathy and understanding of others, and set the tone for a respectful and cooperative learning environment.

Prepare a 750-1,000 word reflective essay on the topic of diversity and learning environments. Within your essay, address the following:

Describe personal frames of reference regarding cultural, linguistic, and gender differences.
Reflect upon how your personal background and frames of reference can, however unintentionally, create bias in your relationships with students and families, how you design instruction, and the classroom environment you promote.
Describe specific ways to decrease potential bias in your classroom, including ways to incorporate your students’ abilities, interests, and cultural and linguistic backgrounds into the learning environment.
Review the “Integration of Faith and Work at GCU.” Using this as a guide, discuss how Christian values align with establishing a multicultural classroom that demonstrates and teaches how to respect people of all backgrounds and abilities.
Support your essay with 3-5 scholarly resources, including the “Integration of Faith and Work at GCU” article.

What is the main challenge that artisans face to promote and sell their crafts outside of Puerto Rico?

Integration of technology to Undertake Global Challenges
Geographically speaking Puerto Rico is an island separated from other bodies of land. New technologies such as the cell phone, the Internet, the Amazon platform and applications such as WhatsApp, among others, allow the interaction of Puerto Rican companies with global markets.

Instructions:

The student must evaluate the main challenges that Puerto Rican artisans have to promote and sell their crafts in markets outside of Puerto Rico. After identifying the main challenge that artisans face, the student must answer, in an argumentative way, the following questions:

What is the main challenge that artisans face to promote and sell their crafts outside of Puerto Rico?

What technology tool (s) (example: preparing a site on wix.com) would you recommend to deal with the main challenge?

How will you use the recommended technology tool (s) to promote and generate sales for artisans?

Identify, analyze and evaluate OB concepts/theories that create an environment (work and organization design) that leads to high performance.

Deliverable:

Approximately 1500-2000 word length single spaced report including a cover page (your name, assignment title, course name, the date, and the professor’s name) and research references.

Introduction to Assignment

For this assignment, you will research and analyze the organizational performance and effectiveness of one of the organizations listed below. You will also propose OB-relevant recommendations for change and improvement.

IKEA

Google

Costco

Apple

Amazon

American Airlines

US Department of Homeland Security

You do not need to confirm which company you are analyzing. It will be assumed you will choose one of these companies. Alternative organizations with unique challenges may be selected for analysis but will require instructor approval. Examples would be the privatization of Dell, or an organization for which you have a career-oriented reason. To discuss alternative Final Project topics, post a message under the Ask the Professor discussion board.

Your analysis should include:

an interview, if available, of organizational members, stakeholders, or qualified relevantly-experienced OB experts familiar with your topic
research findings of the organization’s web sites
data, information and ideas, particularly from Weeks 6 and 7 readings/resources, and at least four outside academic or credible, respected business publications
a SWOT analysis on the organization.
documented and evaluated OB strategies or interventions that the organization could use to enhance its overall performance and effectiveness.
proposed and evaluated OB-related recommendations for improvements in the organization.
Read and follow all the Instructions carefully. Your analysis should evidence critical thinking skills (review Bloom’s Taxonomy) in identifying and explaining organizational strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Emphasize course materials and resources assigned for Weeks 6 and 7; namely, but not limited to, managing groups and teams, group behavior, work and self-managed teams, communication, conflict and negotiation, and decision-making, along with outside research material. Strive for originality and depth. Use examples and research information to support claims. Use American Psychological Association (APA) format for in-text citations and the reference list. Use the comprehensive outline format described in Instruction 9 to present your research, findings, analysis, and recommendations.
