information as needed. Some of the references are too old, please change them. Reading milestone 1 first will

under each heading, there are descriptions of what is supposed to be there(section 2 pages one to six). Please
review each page as you proceed with each heading. With respect to section 2.5 recruitment, I would like you to
look at a study of an analysis that was done on the impatient process for patients. (For example the process for
patient intake, admissions, insurance verification, utilization review, coding, reimbursement, etc. How the
process of these things can result in unpaid patient days with regards to Medicare and Medicaid). Again, you are
working on bettering the milestone two documents that are attached which is the section 2 assignment along

Describe the physical and social environment of the performance. Is it indoors or outdoors?

Description
Hello,
You may choose any kind of music, and the performance may also include dance, theater, or some other type of
activity on YouTube or any other known platform.
At the beginning of your report be sure to include the following information:
The name of the performer or group.
The location of the performance.
Date, time, and length of the event.
Admission price.
If there is one, attach a copy of the program to this report.
Different performances will be interesting for different reasons. Here are some things to which you should pay
attention.
Context
Describe the physical and social environment of the performance. Is it indoors or outdoors? How do the
performers and audience fill and use the space? Is this a place devoted solely to performance? If it is built to
serve other purposes as well, how does that affect the performance? How would you classify the overall “feel”
of the place: luxurious, utilitarian, seedy? Good acoustics or bad?
Purpose
What are the intended purposes of the performance? For example: community outreach, cultural education,
dancing, listening enjoyment, political protest, socializing, or religious worship. Why are people (musicians and
audience) there? Are the musicians performing for pay, for practice, to show off their skills? Did the audience
come specifically to this event, or is it a performance where people wander by?
Sociocultural background of the music, the musicians, and the audience
To the best of your ability, try to “read” the appearances of the performers and audience (age, gender, race,
socioeconomic status, etc.). With what sort of people is this kind of music most commonly associated?
Audience behavior
How did the audience appear to experience the event? Note any interaction between the musicians and the
audience, and when people seem most interested or affected by the performance.
Musical sound
How would you describe the music, its sound, its style? You may find that it is interesting to focus on a few
songs/pieces or aspects of the performance rather than recounting the whole event. What instruments are played
and how do they contribute to the music? Draw a diagram that shows the layout of the performance space and
the various performers and their instruments. What are the ideas about ensemble that you can see and hear?
Interaction between performers
What are the musical roles, i.e., what does each musician contribute? Who is the leader? How do they
communicate? In cases where there is dance, how does the dancer interact with the musician(s)? Does the dancer
also make music?
The effect of the performance on your personally
Write about your interests, your previous knowledge and experience of this kind of music, your interpretations,
your questions, what you did and didn’t like

Based on the information that can be found in literature about these animals’ past (i.e. fossil records, historical records about environment, etc), propose what would be their nutrient requirements

Description
Imagine that a successful technology to recreate animals by design from DNA has been developed (and we
didn’t know about it!). Scientists are considering the production of some of the animals below, with the aim to
add them to a zoological collection to be displayed and breed, for education, leisure, and research.
Write an essay to cover the following points for ONE of the 4 animal creatures below:

historical records about environment, etc), propose what would be their nutrient requirements
  2. b) Propose a feeding plan that would be suitable for use in a modern zoological park. Estimate the yearly costs
    on food, justifying your estimates.
  3. c) Discuss how reliable is the data that informs your proposal, and mention what approaches would be helpful
to inform this report, and how (i.e. comparative physiology, actual molecular methods; geographical
    information, etc.

propose a new Brand Strategy for NIKE Company.

Topic:
Brand Strategy – Individual Report

Description
Continuing with the same brand you selected in Assessment 1 (NIKE), you will now propose a new Brand
Strategy. Your proposed suggestions should be:
Justified through referenced work and linkages to findings from Assessment 1. However, avoid simply repeating
large bodes of text from your first assignment – aim for concision and to summarise
Articulated using step wise and reflective conceptual arguments, that showcase your own independent thinking –
applying theoretical models
Detailed in prescribing specific activities
When it comes to this part of your assessment, where essentially you will be making recommendations: rather
than providing just a list of suggestions, you should focus on one key idea, and expand on it with explanations,
justifications and evidence.
The following are a selection of suggested strategic approaches and refinements, of which one or a blend of
several should be attempted:
Corporate re-profiling
Product rebrand
Brand repositioning
Brand extension
Co-branding
Ingredient branding
Brand Portfolio restructuring
New market entry
Integrated promotional and marketing communication activities
Branded Corporate and Social Responsibility (CSR) activities
Identity/Image
Co-creation/Relationship
Consumer-based perspective
Culture
Retro/Nostalgia
Rebrand
New sub-brand
Name change
Logo and colour changes
New slogan
Attracting a new audience
Adjustments to Brand Personality and Engagement
Employer and Employee Branding
Influencer and endorsement deals
Brand Sponsorship deal
Whilst various areas of focus have been suggested, consider that there is no one right answer and it is unlikely
that you will be able to attempt all of them – as this would make for a shallow answer. At this stage presenting a
compelling, competitive, and evidence-based ‘big idea’ critically is crucial.
You do not need to calculate any financial costs or set any financial targets. Also, you should not propose new
product lines or service offerings.
You are free to use whatever format and subheadings you wish to. Also, you can include images, screen grabs,
diagrams, tables, models and charts in your body text. Where possible, you should create your own tables and
annotate models, images and diagrams.
Note:
Word count does not include end references, tables, charts, or executive summary
You should not develop a new campaign
Full reference list, adhering to Harvard protocol is required

Using evidence from real cases and drawing on theories of sociology of work discuss the patterns in inequalities which can be seen in contemporary world of work. How can these patterns be explained?

Type of assignment: Essay
Length: 3000 words (+/- 10%; abstract and reference list does not count towards wordcount)
◦ 1. Using evidence from real cases and drawing on theories of sociology of work discuss the patterns in inequalities which can be seen in contemporary world of work. How can these patterns be explained?
INEQUALITIES AT WORK
There is evidence of
unequal access to jobs, promotion and pay
asymmetrical power relations at work (owners and workers)
Class
Gender
Race and ethnicity (we covered very briefly)
Intersectionality
Sociologists explain workplace and labour market inequalities with reference to wider structural and cultural dynamics

CLASS INEQUAITIES
There are different conceptions of class
Marx – owners of the means of production and wage labour (employers and employees)
Marx emphasised the economic aspect of class
Control, management essential to extraction of labour power
Taylorism
Class divisions expressed in occupational divisions
Middle class jobs (e.g. professional occupations such as architecture, medicine)
Working class jobs (e.g. manual jobs, or other jobs not requiring higher skills)
Bourdieu – emphasises cultural aspects of class
Savage et al – class is a multi-dimensional concept (Week 8 lecture)
Sorting through economic, social and cultural capital (these are connected)
Class expressed in our habitus as individuals
Examples: Professional services, architecture, TV production, finance

GENDER INEQUALITIES
Horizontal segregation – occupations dominated by men and women
Women are more likely to be in low paid occupations
Women’s entry – devaluation of jobs (e.g. IT, teaching, some civil service jobs)
Increased participation in the labour market – growth of service industry, pt employment
Vertical segregation – women facing a glass ceiling
Pay inequality (e.g. BBC case)
Intersectionality: inequalities based on gender, class, race, sexual orientation can overlap and multiply for some individuals
How can we explain gender inequalities?
Patriarchy – a system of oppression
Structural: women’s role in the family, weak gender equality policies, labour market expections
Cultural: norms and values about women’s role, sexual harassment in the workplace
Workplace inequalities are connected to how families and working life are organised in society

Some consequences of employment and workplace inequalities and precarisation
Alienation (Blauner and Marx)
Deskilling (Braverman)
Emotional labour (Hochschild) (effect and consequence)
Creation and reproduction of wider social divisions through employment inequalities
Examples: Airline industry, call centres, Platform work, garment industry workers, Tech industry (Google)
