Do you think that there is any relevance to sexual norms in America today?

Read the following from chapter 6 of Major Problems in American Women’s History – I posted a pdf.
Document 2 “A Diarist Relates a Gentleman’s Seduction of a 14 Year-Old-Girl to His Wife’s Novel Reading, 1806” p. 135
Document 4 “The American Female Moral Reform Society Warns Mothers About the ‘Solitary Vice’, 1839” p. 137
This week we learned that the Second Great Awakening and separately the Industrial Revolution opened opportunities for women to become more active outside of the home. Their activities outside of the home were still attached to roles specifically assigned to women. This period is a stepping stone for how women continue to expand their roles from this point forward. Due to the Second Great Awakening women were now expected to be morally superior and to be the moral compass for their homes, communities and for larger society. PROMPT
Yes, the reading on the solitary vice is about masturbation. For this discussion, discuss why this document is relevant to women’s new moral responsibility and what we can learn about sexual norms during this period. Here are some guiding questions: Why were women warning mother’s about this? It’s not men warning fathers or women warning parents. What does this tell us about women’s sexuality during that period? Do you think that there is any relevance to sexual norms in America today? Focus your initial response more. Your peers read the document so you should do less summary and more analysis and critical thinking. The purpose of these discussions, is to use critical thinking and to exchange ideas with your classmates. You should reference this week’s material and give specific detail in a way that fosters a productive discussion. Your peers read the same text as you, so it’s not effective to give a full summary of the reading in your initial post. Please use only these material, not other sources.

How would these systematic changes align with the overall organization design?

Major Project Scenario
During the course project, you have been analyzing teams within an organization that you chose at the start of the course. In Week 1, you evaluated the teams’ purpose, leadership, development, and dynamics. In Week 2, you constructed a values statement. In Week 3, you created a new virtual team, analyzing how to make it successful, and looked at decision making (DQ). In Week 4, you assessed the power dynamics in the teams. Along the way you’ve also looked at other topics such as conflict resolution and boundaries.
Building on your thorough review of the teams (and the organization through the lens of the teams), identify 4 to 6 challenges (i.e., problems, weaknesses, gaps, threats, opportunities for improvement, etc.) facing one or more of the teams and organization you have chosen for the final project.
Then, based on the knowledge you gained in this course, through previous course work, and through outside research, create a complete action plan to address the challenges you identified. Make sure you include the main concepts of the course and your weekly discoveries as you create and present your intervention action plan.
Consider the following questions as you are planning to make a sustainable difference in the team and organization:
What are the challenges that exist?
What systemic changes are required to make a sustainable difference for addressing those challenges? What benefit would the team/organization realize from the changes?
How would these systematic changes align with the overall organization design?
What are some potential consequences or impacts to the people involved? How would you reduce any negative impacts?
What are the action steps for the change process?
How would you lead this change process?
What internal team dynamics would you apply?

In your experience, what aspects of writing do you excel at? Struggle with?

Writing is often the bane of a student’s existence, so I’m sure many of you have looked upon your upper-division writing requirement with trepidation.
The majority of this course is focused on the practice of writing formally and your writing reflections are no different. Where they do differ, though, is that they specifically push you to reflect upon yourself as a writer, offering you an ability to utilize personal experience and viewpoints as the explicit basis to think of the practice of writing.
For your first writing reflection, I want you to address the following:
From your vantage point, what is the purpose of writing?
In your experience, what aspects of writing do you excel at? Struggle with?
How have you overcome those struggles? (Or, if you haven’t, why haven’t you?)
Make sure to incorporate examples. Note that this is personal reflection. This means that there aren’t wrong answers so we are focused on your attention to detail, explication, and general argumentation.
Please write this in Times New Roman size 12, double-spaced, one-inch margins in approximately three pages.

What are your overall reactions to the performance? Were you surprised, bored, excited, nauseated, elated?

Your critique should be in the form of an expository essay of at least three paragraphs. The opening paragraph should contain significant biographical data about the composer as it relates specifically to your chosen piece. Please also include any information you can find about the creation, public reception, critical success, etc… of your chosen piece.
The body paragraph(s) should mention specific details about the musical elements of the piece. Also, feel free to explain what elements are elements of the appropriate style period of your piece. The three choices represent one example of the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods of music history. If you choose Bach’s b minor mass, please choose two choral numbers, one aria, and one duet to write about. If you choose Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, please choose one of the first three movements PLUS the fourth movement to write about. If you choose Tosca by Giacomo Puccini, please choose three arias and one duet to write about.
The closing paragraph should sum up your opinion of the success of the event (e.g. how well the performers worked together as a group, and the overall effectiveness of the performance for the audience) and the evidence supporting your opinion. What are your overall reactions to the performance? Were you surprised, bored, excited, nauseated, elated?
