On which cultural values did your personal values align with your country of interest values?

https://tascaglobal.culturewizard.com/app/login
Using the Cultural Calculator found on the CultureWizard, compare your own values to those of your home country(US) and country of interest(China) (note the system has been revised and the output looks different than what is shown in the lecture slides). Reflecting on the similarities and differences between your values and the target cultures’ values, number and answer the following questions:

  1. On which cultural values did your personal values align with your country of interest values? When you are in this culture or with people from this culture, how do you perceive these similarities?
  2. On which cultural values did your personal values differ from your country of interest values? When you are in this culture or with people from this culture, how do you perceive these differences?
  3. For two of your more salient cultural values (i.e., ones where you had particularly high scores), identify how those were socialized in your life. In other words, from whom and how were these values learned or reinforced (e.g., parents, family, school, neighborhood, grade school, religion, etc.)?
  4. Attach as an appendix a copy of your Culture Calculator results; the first page showing charts of your scores, home country scores, and country of interest scores.
Identify emergent properties of complex systems and discern their causes.

For this assignment, you will analyze a complex social system of your choosing based on a specific “explanatory challenge” (i.e., a phenomenon that you want to explain) that you wish to address. The system could be a professional sports league, a government, a university, a military branch, or any other group or organization constituted by several hundred or more individuals, but typically not more than a few thousand. The explanatory challenge might be something like asking why some teams are more successful than others, why some governments tend to be corrupt, and so on. You will need to research the system you choose and refer to your findings in your essay. Make sure that this research informs your breakdown and analysis of the system, and referenced in a bibliography at the end of your paper.
You should begin by providing a brief overview of the system you will describe and a summary of the explanatory problem that will be the basis of your analysis. It should be evident why you are treating this as a “complex system,” rather than a system that only exhibits “merely complicated” behavior (such as a grandfather clock or a jet engine). The rest of your analysis should accomplish the following tasks:
Describe the explanatory challenge: What phenomenon or behavior of the system in particular you want to understand or explain? This step is critical to effectively accomplishing the subsequent steps (recall how the explanatory challenge shaped our decompositions in the hospital and soccer league examples).
Identify the component parts and structural features of the system at different levels of analysis, including individual agents, sub-groups (such as teams, clubs, divisions, or branches), as well as hierarchical and non-hierarchical relations among them.
Evaluate multiple causal relations or feedback loops relevant to your explanatory challenge.
Describe possible emergent properties that may arise from the interactions among various constituents in the system, and identify the characteristics of these interactions that would give rise to these properties.
As you complete your assignment, consider how the above can be synthesized, as many of the above elements are inter-related (rather than each a standalone analysis).
Your analysis should reflect what you discovered in your research, but should not merely repeat it. Synthesize different sources of information to decompose the system and the interactions among its components.
Conclude by briefly summarizing what you have discussed, noting any particularly interesting or surprising features of the system that you have uncovered, and explaining how this illuminates the explanatory challenge that sparked this investigation.
Your analysis must cover the characteristics of complex systems discussed in this unit, using #systemanalysis and #emergentproperties.
In addition, you will be graded on some learning outcomes from last semester:

composition: Communicate with a clear and precise style.

thesis: Write a clear declarative sentence that takes a firm position on the topic under consideration and serves to organize the rest of the work.

Be sure to draw attention to your most prominent applications of LOs (especially those mentioned in the “LOs to be graded” section below) by adding footnotes. In the footnote text (at the bottom of the page), provide the hashtag of the LO and a 1-2 sentence explanation of your application. Help the professor understand exactly why this constitutes a strong application, but do not elaborate on your analysis. For a given LO, create at most one footnote per page.
Footnote text does not count toward the target length of the assignment, and all applications of the LOs (not just those that are footnoted) could count toward your grade.
Include a word count at the end of your main text (prior to the bibliography).
Finally, make sure to proofread and check your assignment in Grammarly, and also to include a both in-text citations and a bibliography, formatted in APA style, listing all resources you used in preparing this assignment. Citations and bibliography DO NOT count towards the word limit. This includes journal articles, book chapters, and Internet resources such as Wikipedia, blog posts, or popular media. Quotations (if any), or ideas and examples that are summarized or paraphrased from other authors must be appropriately cited. If you have any questions about this, please contact your instructor.

emergentproperties: Identify emergent properties of complex systems and discern their causes.

systemanalysis: Analyze and apply decompositions of systems into constituent parts at multiple levels of analysis.

Using the information from the course, write a paper that explains from a business law perspective what a budding entrepreneur should know in order to establish a domestic US trading business in children’s garments where international agreements are entered into, including:
Agreements to buy fabric in India;
Agreements to ship the fabric from India to China;
Agreements in China to convert the fabric into children’s shirts based on client designs;
Agreements to take possession of the finished product in China and ship the garments to Canada, France, and the U.S. for sale through major department stores.
Compose the research paper in accordance with APA standards and cite a minimum of five scholarly peer reviewed sources (in addition to your textbook and the Bible) as references (word count range 2500-2600 words).
The final project also includes peer evaluations. You can access the peer evaluation forms by clicking through the “Course Resources” tab to find the “Peer Evaluation” form.

How would that affect the economy and politics of that region?

This is a huge project. Please read the instructions thoroughly to decide if this works for you. I would make sure to add 20%+ if you delivered a high distinguished dissertation. Thanks in advance.
In this project/dissertation (Please refer to the Project Guide inserted), I would like to understand how the Arab state of gulf will stop relying on oil. How would that affect the economy and politics of that region?
I need you to think about a research question in that area. I am leaving this to you so you can be relatively motivated to complete a top-notch dissertation. Please share with me multiple options to choose from, and I’d you like you to consider a research question about (the United Arab Emirates) in one of the topics you will share.

Describe the relationship between the pressure and wind speed, and how that affects the hurricane.

Objective:
• Locate and analyze hurricane data
• Describe the relationship between the pressure and wind speed, and how that affects the hurricane.
Vocabulary:
Altitude – topographic elevation above sea level.
Climate – a geographic area’s pattern of atmospheric or weather conditions over long periods of time, at least 30 years or more.
Latitude – distance from the equator measured in degrees, parallel to the equator.
Longitude- distance from the Prime Meridian in degrees, perpendicular to the equator.
Knot – 1 nautical mile per hour = 1.151 mile per hour.
Weather – local area’s short-term temperature, precipitation, humidity, wind speed, cloud cover, and other physical conditions of the lower atmosphere.
Introduction: A hurricane is a tropical cyclone that originates in an ocean or sea in the equatorial regions and involves heavy rains and a minimum wind speed of 74 mph (119 kh). “Hurricane” is usually used to describe this type of storm over the Atlantic Ocean, whereas “typhoon” is usually used to describe the exact same type of storm in the Pacific Ocean. Before a storm becomes a hurricane, it is a “tropical depression” and then a “tropical storm.”
Classification is determined by wind speed, and when wind speeds reach 74 mph, the storm is then classified as a hurricane. Hurricanes have deepening low-pressure centers that take in moist air and thermal energy from the water’s surface. Convection lifts the air, and as the air continues to rise, it eventually hits high pressure and is pushed outward.
The official Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1st to November 30th each year. Though tropical systems can form at any time of the year in the tropical Atlantic, they are comparatively rare outside of the official season. The long-term average number of storms for the tropical Atlantic is nearly 10 per year with almost 6 of those becoming hurricanes and 2-3 of those developing into major hurricanes of category 3 or higher on the Saffir-Simpson Scale (Table 4). However, there has been a generally more active period since 1995 with a seasonal average (based on data between 1995 and 2003) of 13 tropical storms, 7.6 hurricanes and 3.6 major hurricanes. September is generally the most active month for the formation of hurricanes in the Atlantic, but this does not preclude large or destructive storms occurring at any time during the season.

write a 1-page report that Describes the product you plan to market abroad

Step 1: Perform some research:
Select a fairly inexpensive product that you currently own, and a country that you’re not very familiar with. The product could be a moderately priced watch, radio, or other device. Now imagine that you are with the international sales department of the company that manufactures and sells the item and that you are proposing to make available in the country you have selected. The first step is to learn as much as possible about the country where you plan to market the product. Check almanacs, encyclopedias, the Internet, and library databases for the most recent information, paying particular attention to descriptions of the social life of the inhabitants, their economic conditions, and cultural traditions that would encourage or discourage use of the product.
Step 2: Write a 1-page formal report.
Use a word processor (like MS Word) to write a 1-page report that:
Describes the product you plan to market abroad
Briefly describes the country you have selected Indicates the types of people in this country who would find the product attractive
Explains how the product would be transported into the country (or possibly manufactured there (if materials and labor are available)
Recommends a location for a regional sales center
Suggests how the product should be sold
Your report is to be submitted to the chief operating officer of the company, whose name you can either make up or find in a corporate directory.
The report should include your conclusions (how the product will do in this new environment) and your recommendations for marketing (steps the company should take immediately and those it should develop later).
The report should be written using headings and subheadings so that it is easy to follow.

Explain how these discoveries complement, complicate, or enrich your image of daily life in Ancient Rome and how they might change or nuance the way in which you now look at ancient Roman objects.

First, read John R. Clarke’s article and share three things that you learned from it about the ways of life of the ancient Romans. Be sure to be specific and provide some detail. Explain how these discoveries complement, complicate, or enrich your image of daily life in Ancient Rome and how they might change or nuance the way in which you now look at ancient Roman objects.
Second, study carefully the five object essays in Part Eight of our book, then go over to the Art Institute and look at objects made before 1800. Identify one object that is kindred in spirit with one of the five objects described in the book. Feel free to interpret the phrase “kindred in spirit” broadly but be sure to identify a strong link and fully explain it.
Both parts of your response should add up to an ample paragraph, about half a page.
