Gender Issues

  • Although somewhat dated, in this chapter, Desmarais and Alksnis provide a comprehensive review of the vast body of research related to gender, work, and stress. While men and women may cope with stress in similar ways, the nature and level f work stress can be due to factors that are unique to one or the other sex. Learn more about these factors by reading this chapter.

Write a brief 3–5 page narrative that explains why the resources cited in the concept map and narrative are valuable and relevant.

Create a patient-centered concept map and write a 3-5 page narrative in which you explain the process and considerations that went into creating your concept map.

Introduction

Evidence-based practice is a key skill in the tool kit of the master’s-prepared nurse. Its goal is to ensure that health care practitioners are using the best available evidence to ensure that patients are receiving the best care possible (Godshall, 2020). In essence, evidence-based practice is all about ensuring quality care.

In this assessment, you will apply evidence-based practice and personalized care concepts to ensure quality care and improve the health of a single patient. The concept map that you will create is an example of a visual tool that you can use for patient and family education.

Professional Context

Concept maps are widely used in nursing care. They can be effective tools for organizing workload, prioritizing patient care strategies, and developing personalized care approaches. In addition to organizing care, they can aid in ensuring that the patient’s care is individualized to not only their health conditions, but also their familial, cultural, and environmental situations.

Scenario

John Taylor is a 68-year-old African-American male with a history of type II diabetes and hypertension who came to the emergency department (ED) triage window because he felt crummy; complaining of a headacherunny nose, feeling more weak, “achy all over” and hot to the touch and sweaty the past two days. When he woke up this morning, he no longer felt hot but began to develop a persistent “nagging cough” that continued to worsen throughout the day. He has difficulty “catching his breath” when he gets up to go the bathroom. John is visibly anxious and asks, “Do I have COVID 19. John lives in a large metropolitan area that has had over three thousand confirmed cases of COVID-19. He has been married to Maxine, his wife of 45 years and is retired police officer and active in his local church.

Instructions

Develop a patient-centered concept map for a chosen condition based upon the best available evidence that has been individualized to treat your patient’s health, economic, and cultural needs. Write a brief 3–5 page narrative that explains why the resources cited in the concept map and narrative are valuable and relevant. Describe how you incorporated the patient’s individual culture, identity, abilities, and beliefs into the plan of care. Also, be clear about your specific communication strategies for relating information to the patient and their family.

The bullet points below correspond to grading criteria in the scoring guide. Be sure that your map and narrative address all of the bullets below, at minimum.

Analyze the implication of mandated reporting in delivering services to clients identifying challenges you would face in planning and providing services for clients.

Consequences of Mandated Reporting of Child Abuse

All human services professionals are included under mandated reporting statutes. Discuss both the positive consequences and the negative or unintended consequences of mandated reporting of child abuse. Analyze the implication of mandated reporting in delivering services to clients identifying challenges you would face in planning and providing services for clients. Ensure you include the challenges you would face during the interviewing phase of service provision.

Evaluate the outcomes of identified strategies to determine their success and impact on short-term and long-term objectives.

Instructions

Purpose:

This project is the last of four projects. You will generate a pool of alternative strategies, evaluate these alternative strategies, and select the best strategy using the tools and concepts learned throughout the course. You will develop implementation plans, evaluative plans to control the implementation process, and plan for post-evaluation measures. You will also draw from previous business courses to understand how organizations develop and manage strategies to establish, safeguard, and sustain their position in a competitive market.

Skill Building:

In this project, you build many different skills, including research, critical thinking, writing, and developing analytical skills related to various financial analysis tools and strategy tools used in business. In addition, you will select optimal strategies, design how to implement them, and evaluate the implementation process of the optimal strategies.

Outcomes Met With This Project:

  • Examine the impact of ethical decision making, social responsibility, stakeholder analysis, and corporate governance on organizations and society;
  • Utilize a set of useful analytical skills, tools, and techniques for analyzing a company strategically;
  • Integrate ideas, concepts, and theories from previously taken functional courses including, accounting, finance, market, business, and human resource management;
  • Analyze and synthesize strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) to generate, prioritize, and implement alternative strategies to revise a current plan or write a new plan and present a strategic plan;
  • Evaluate the outcomes of identified strategies to determine their success and impact on short-term and long-term objectives.
Discuss the importance of having policies and procedures for community services organisations?

What are the effective project cost estimation techniques?

Cost estimation is an essential procedure in project management since it is considered the foundation for establishing and managing the project budget. Project managers use cost estimates to calculate the overall sum of funds needed to complete a project on time and within budget. For project management to be successful, accurate cost estimation is crucial. Because a cost estimate’s accuracy determines how well planning and decision-making are done in predicting and adjusting for future change (Fraser Sherman, 2019).

Cost estimation is the process that determines a budget that meets the financial commitment required for a project to be effective by taking into consideration direct costs, indirect costs, and other factors (Jason Westland, 2022). In order to execute a project within scope and on schedule, it is necessary to estimate all of the costs involved. The first step in each project’s planning no matter the size or field is to create a cost. Cost estimation can assist project managers to maintain the budget by understanding how much money can be afforded, predicting the funds required, and comparing the estimation to the budget. It can also halt overspending as before starting a project all costs are estimated (Dave Lee, 2021).

One of the main tasks in project management for project managers is cost estimation. It is clear that any project is constrained by three principal factors which are scope, budget, and time, and since cost estimates directly address the budget constraint, it is very important to project management. There are different types of estimating costs and the most important ones are Historical Estimating, Parametric Estimating, and Bottom-Up Estimating. (Sinha., S. & Vaidya., D., 2022). To complete a cost estimation the tasks can be made more achievable by breaking it down into more manageable milestones (Indeed Editorial Team, 2022).

Through my research, I would like to research and gain more knowledge on the following questions:

· What are some of the main issues in cost estimation?

· What are the effective project cost estimation techniques?

· Which factors influence cost estimation?
