A bob of mass m = 0.300 kg is suspended from a fixed point with a massless string of length L = 23.0 cm . You will investigate the motion in which the string traces a conical surface with half-angle ? = 19.0 °. What tangential speed v must the bob have so that it moves in a horizontal circle with the string making an angle 19.0 ° with the vertical? Express your answer numerically in meters per second.

A former Kremlin advisor said Russia sees the crisis as a chance for Moscow to try to grow its clout in the Middle East by casting itself as a potential peacemaker with links to all sides. Russia may believe that it can profit from the Israel-Hamas conflict. How so?
MATHIAS HAMMER: Russia has notably not condemned Hamas’s attacks on Oct. 7 as terrorism. Instead, Russian officials have called for both sides to put down arms and reaffirmed its support for a Palestinian state. At the United Nations Security Council, a Russian resolution that called for a ceasefire and the release of all hostages was voted down as it failed to condemn Hamas.
ANDREW OSBORN: Russia’s ties with Israel, traditionally close and pragmatic, have suffered. Moscow’s reception of a Hamas delegation less than two weeks after the Oct. 7 massacre angered Israel, prompting it to summon Russia’s ambassador, Anatoly Viktorov, for sending “a message legitimizing terrorism.”

“Clinical Mental Health:
CASE HISTORY AND SYMPTOMATOLOGY
Laurie is a 13-year-old Puerto Rican female who was referred to the outpatient mental health clinic by Janie Robertson, FNP, who is the nurse practitioner who sees Laurie for regular medical concerns. The outpatient clinic is located in a mid-western state and city where the demographic makeup is as follows: White (63%), Black (14%), Asian (7%), Pacific Islander (3%), and Hispanic/Latino (13%).
The referral form indicated Lauries primary reason for referral was her scoring an 18 on the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) given to her during her routine appointment with the nurse practitioner. The case manager who gathered collateral information about Laurie from the mother noted that Laurie lives with both her parents and a younger brother, but that Lauries parents have experienced significant marital problems, have been separated several times, and are now starting divorce proceedings. Lauries mother reported having a history of psychiatric treatment for depression and anxiety and indicated that the clients father suffered from bipolar disorder and had been receiving psychiatric treatment, having been hospitalized on multiple occasions during previous years for non-compliance with his medication, resulting in psychotic episodes and violence.
Laurie and her mother arrived for the intake appointment 15 minutes late, stating they had difficulty obtaining transportation because the father used their only vehicle to go to work. Lauries paperwork indicated Medicaid as her primary insurance. During the intake appointment, Laurie expressed the following symptoms: frequent sadness and crying, increased appetite and overeating, guilt, low self-concept, anxiety, irritability, insomnia, hopelessness, and difficulty concentrating. In addition, she presented with difficulties in her interpersonal relationships, persistent negative thoughts about her appearance and scholastic abilities, as well as guilt regarding her parents’ marital problems.
Laurie also disclosed she has a history of self-harming by cutting her upper thigh and stated the last instance was 2 days ago because she was feeling overwhelmed about school. Laurie pleaded with the counselor not to mention this to her mother because Laurie didnt want to be sent to the crazy hospital like her father had been before.
Laurie was failing several classes in school, and her family was in the process of looking for a new school due to her failing grades and difficulties getting along with her classmates.
Lauries medical history revealed that she suffered from asthma, used eyeglasses, and was overweight. Laurie’s mother reported that Laurie had been previously diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) 2 years ago, had seen a counselor previously, and is currently prescribed antidepressants by the primary care provider in their hometown.”
Identify the Ethical Dilemma: Before a counselor can consider how state laws, statutes, or district policies may influence an approach, the counselor must first identify the issue and consider any relevant ethical concerns. (MY STATE IN NEW YORK)
Describe all ethical dilemma(s) presented in the case.
Identify unavailable facts relative to the ethical dilemma(s).
State Laws and Regulations: Earlier in this course, you identified the state laws and regulations relating to the practice of counseling for your specialization. (ADDICTION STUDIES)
Describe at least two state legal standards that help guide counselors to establish ethical relationships with clients or students through two specific requirements (for example, informed consent, managing boundaries, payment for services).
Include any additional state (NEW YORK PLEASE) statutes or local district policies that guide counselors (you may include a link to the statutes or policies).
Reflect on the impact state laws have on the counseling relationship.
Diverse Populations: Ethical issues are an integral part of counseling diverse clients, as counselors must uphold ethical standards while being sensitive to cultural and individual differences. Here are some ethical issues that may arise when counseling diverse clients: Cultural competence, informed consent, confidentiality, dual relationships, boundaries, values, beliefs, and multicultural competence.
Describe the ethical responsibilities when counseling diverse populations.
For example, in the sessions the client discloses personal beliefs that are opposed to the personal beliefs and/or values you hold. Ethical counselors will recognize the need for additional supervision to ensure that they are not trying to push personal values and beliefs onto their clients.
Explain how ethical responsibilities affect the counseling relationship in a way that is well supported by the literature.
Ethical Codes and Standards: The purpose of ethical codes is to uphold the integrity of the counseling profession, advance the welfare of clients, and direct ethical decision-making in our practice.
Describe three specific ethical codes/standards that would guide you in managing the relationship in the ethical dilemma.
Explain how these codes/standards could be applied to mitigate the ethical dilemma.
Interdisciplinary Team: You want to consider the role that interdisciplinary teams may play in counseling relationships. The term “interdisciplinary team” is used to represent any internal/external stakeholders, educational system, legal system, or emergency management teams.
Articulate strategies for interfacing ethically with the interdisciplinary team involved in a case.
Explain the impact this interaction might have on the counseling relationship.

Write a 2 to 3 page, APA style paper, explaining why you believe anyone running for President of the United States should or should not have served in the military at one time or the other. If you believe they should have a Military Service Record before running for President, would any military service, rank, type of discharge, and/or position be sufficient to be President? For instance, should only officers be allowed to run for President? What about enlisted members?

What about people with other than honorable discharges? In your paper include the opposing position along with your rebuttal (of that opposing position). For instance, if you believe people should serve in the military to be able to run for President (and why) then your rebuttal would be to those people who do not believe people should serve in the military before running to be President (and why).
Discuss how incentive pay plans both individual and group motivate employees to achieve high levels of performance. Identify potential weaknesses of these plans and suggest steps that can be taken to make these plans highly effective. Then, choose one industry that either an individual or group incentive pay plan would work best providing support for your reasoning (using personal examples to illustrate your point if possible).

This week we will see the techniques used to structure the data requirements for an information system application as the textbook and lecture notes emphasizes entity-relationship (E-R) diagramming, the most common notation used by practicing systems and data analysts. You will see how E-R diagramming is used along with process and logic modeling techniques to develop a thorough, unambiguous description of system requirements. In addition to the standard constructs of the E-R model (entities, attributes, and relationships), the data-oriented questions that should be raised during requirements determination will be discussed in our online discussions. In essence, the Conceptual Modeling process looks at how the data is structured and what the characteristics of the data are. What characteristics of data are represented in an E-R diagram?
