Explain how you expect this course will help you move forward in your current or future career.Start your discussion by responding to these questions:What is a scarcity problem you’ve experienced in your work or home life? What system could you use to manage your scarcity problem? Respond to classmate’s (Laura Smith) post below: Hey everyone!I am so excited to join this course and connect with all of you. Something unique about my background is that I’ve always had a passion for art and creativity. I love exploring different forms of expression, whether it’s through painting, photography, or graphic design. In terms of how this course will help me in my career, I believe it will provide me with a solid foundation in economics and help me understand the principles behind decision-making and resource allocation. This knowledge will be valuable in my current role as an advisor and will help me make more informed decisions about project prioritization and resource management. Now, let’s talk about scarcity problems. One scarcity problem I’ve experienced in my work life is the limited availability of time and the constant pressure to meet deadlines. To manage this, I’ve found that using time management techniques like the Pomodoro Technique, where I work in focused bursts with short breaks in between, helps me stay productive and maintain a healthy work-life balance.

You are working in a doctors office and a local news story is playing in the waiting room. The story describes health disparities between men and women across different racial and class backgrounds. The story spurs conversation among the patients in the waiting room, but it quickly escalates into a debate about who has good and bad health behaviors and why. You overhear a few patients make assumptions about how men are more aggressive and physical and how women are more passive and therefore less active. You hear others claim that these differences exist because those people are lazy and do not care about their health. Still, other patients respond by talking about access to quality healthcare.
