Because social workers are on a continual journey in learning, it is important to read pertinent literature. Select one of these three groups: (1) an immigrant individual from a racial or ethnic minority group, (2) a gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender (LGBT) individual, OR (3) an individual who is physically disabled.

In the healthcare field, different groups of helthcare professionals adhere to their own codes of ethics. All healthcare professionals are duty-bound to follow a strict code of ethics. This has been true since the fourth or fifth century, when the Hippocratic Oath was penned. While the code has changed with the times, the code of ethics still dicatates a commitment both to patients and to other healthcare professionals.
