While two students were supposedly waiting for an experiment to begin, the researcher covertly videotaped their actions and conversation. The researcher then told them about the research and gave them the opportunity to have the tape erased.
A researcher worked for a time on the production line of a large manufacturing plant. His status as a researcher was unknown to his co-workers. It was not until he was about to leave that he revealed his purpose and identity to others.
To study what types of people are most likely to give money to a stranger, people on city streets were asked for money by an individual who said he had just lost his wallet. No one was ever told that he or she was part of a research project.
To study the effects of alcohol on decision making, a graduate student interviewed college students after they had left a campus bar. With a portable breathalyzer, he registered their blood alcohol level. Although some of them were found to be intoxicated beyond the legal state limits, and many of them were going to be driving home, he did not inform them of their blood alcohol levels.

Compare accounting principles for private and public companies.

Assignment 2: Accounting for Private vs. Public CompaniesDue Week 8 and worth 80 points          For Assignment 2, you will compare accounting principles for private and public companies. As you may have discovered as you’ve reviewed the materials for this course, most of what is learned in accounting courses focuses on public companies, not private ones. GAAP, as you have also learned from your studies, may be followed by private companies, but it is only required to be used by publicly traded companies. FASB, of course, is designated by the SEC to establish and improve GAAP, so their focus is primarily on publicly traded companies. FASB has also recognized the importance and potential impact of private company financial statements. According to Forbes, out of the 5.7 million firms with employees in the United States, less than 1 percent have shares listed on a U.S. exchange. Although we tend to think of private companies as small companies, the reality is quite the opposite, with private firms accounting for 86.4 percent of U.S. firms with 500 or more employees. In recognition of the growing importance and impact of private companies, FASB has come up with a useful publication – Private Company Decision-Making Framework, A Guide for Evaluating Financial Accounting and Reporting for Private Companies. You can access this document by clicking here. In this guide, FASB identifies the following five Significant Differential Factors:Number of primary users and their access to managementInvestment strategies of primary usersOwnership and capital structureAccounting resourcesLearning about new financial reporting guidance For Assignment 2, write a 2-to-4 page paper in which you: Select two of the Differential Factors that interest you, and briefly explain why.In your own words, explain the Factor and why it is different from a publicly traded company.

Research on fire protection and suppression systems in an aircraft | System Safety Management

Fire Detection and Suppression Systems.
Aircraft fires are one of the most hazardous and dangerous situations that can occur while flying. In order to mitigate the risk of an aircraft fire, fire detection and suppression systems were implemented. Fire detection systems can let the pilot know which section of the aircraft is on fire so he can plan accordingly. Fire suppression systems help put the fire out and can work hand in hand with fire detection systems. When a fire is detected a fire extinguisher that is built into the aircraft can automatically go off to put the fire out before it gets out of control.
This accident occurred due to an in-flight fire United Air Lines Flight 608 in 1947.This is the report https://reports.aviation-safety.net/1947/19471024-0_DC6_NC37510.pdf
Need to discuss how a fire protection and impression system could have prevented this accident from occuring
