Deliverables
As discussed in this course, risk management is an important process for all organizations. This is particularly true in information systems, which provides critical support for organizational missions. The project activities described in this document allow you to fulfill the role of an employee participating in the risk management process in a specific business situation, identifying the threats and vulnerabilities facing your organization.
Submission Requirements
All project submissions should follow this format:
Format: Microsoft Word or compatible
Font: Arial, 10-point, double-space
Citation Style: APA style. Any work copied from Internet or other sources will automatically receive a 0.
Scenario
You are an information technology (IT) intern working for Health Network, Inc. (Health Network), a fictitious health services organization headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Health Network has over 600 employees throughout the organization and generates $500 million USD in annual revenue. The company has two additional locations in Portland, Oregon and Arlington, Virginia, which support a mix of corporate operations. Each corporate facility is located near a co-location data center, where production systems are located and managed by third-party data center hosting vendors.
Company Products
Health Network has three main products: HNetExchange, HNetPay, and HNetConnect.
HNetExchange is the primary source of revenue for the company. The service handles secure electronic medical messages that originate from its customers, such as large hospitals, which are then routed to receiving customers such as clinics over the Internet. Information transmitted over this network include patient health information, xrays, bloodwork, and diagnoses.
HNetPay is a Web portal used by many of the companys HNetExchange customers to support the management of secure payments and billing. The HNetPay Web portal, hosted at Health Network production sites, accepts various forms of payments and interacts with credit-card processing organizations much like a Web commerce shopping cart. The Web portal is hosted on a Windows IIS Web server. Data from the portal is stored in an Oracle database on a Unix server.
HNetConnect is an online directory that lists doctors, clinics, and other medical facilities to allow Health Network customers to find the right type of care at the right locations. It contains doctors personal information, work addresses, medical certifications, and types of services that the doctors and clinics offer. Doctors are given credentials and are able to update the information in their profile. Health Network customers, which are the hospitals and clinics, connect to all three of the companys products using HTTPS connections. Doctors and potential patients are able to make payments and update their profiles using Internet-accessible HTTPS Web sites. You have already run a Nessus scan and used nmap to determine vulnerabilities.
Information Technology Infrastructure Overview
Health Network operates in a production data center that provide high availability across the companys products. The data center host about 1,000 production servers, and Health Network maintains 650 corporate laptops and company-issued mobile devices for its employees. Employees are allowed to work from home, using their company-issued laptops. There is also a wireless network available at work.
Project
For the project, you must create a threat model, using STRIDE (remember to use the information in the article at the Web link, to understand these sections). To do so, you must analyze the data and create a threat model document that contains the following sections:
1. A section titled Attacker Viewpoint discussing framing the threat from the mindset of the perceived attacker. Address the following questions: 5 points.
a. Who is likely to attack the system?
b. What are they likely to attack to accomplish their goal?
2. A section titled Asset Viewpoint discussing the organizations assets from the information provided in the scenario, above. Be sure to also address the following questions (I recommend placing this in a table). 15 points
a. What is the asset?
b. What value does the asset have to the organization?
c. How might that asset be exploited by an attacker?
3. A section, titled STRIDE, that will identify the following security threats for six different categories, as discussed in the article in the Web reference you were asked to read, as they apply to this scenario. Include the following: 60 points
a. Spoofing address any spoofing threats that might be present in the applications or systems. Include the ramifications (impact) of a spoofing attack.
b. Tampering address any data or databases that might be subject to data tampering (applications, for instance, that might be vulnerable to cross site scripting attacks or SQL injection in the healthcare organization scenario, above).
c. Repudiation address where repudiation attacks might be possible in the organization.
d. Information disclosure address where there may be the likelihood for a data breach in the organizations assets listed in the scenario that would allow the attacker to access private information (or, worse, patient health information). Discuss the laws and regulations that would be impacted and the ramifications (impact and penalities) that would be incurred by this organization in that event.
e. Denial of Service discuss the potential for service interruptions for those systems or applications connected to the Internet. Which systems are vulnerable? What would be the impact to the organization for each connected system, if it were to be unavailable?
f. Elevation of Privilege discuss the systems and applications that might be subject to an attacker elevating his privilege levels (think of a patient database – what would happen if the attacker was able to gain Administrator access to the database?).
4. A section, titled Risk Mitigation Plan, that summarizes your findings for the boss and discusses the security controls that you recommend for each of the potential attacks that you have identified. This can be summarized using the table Ive provided for you below for each of your threats. Remember to assign the implementation of the recommended security control to a role within the organization (you can use a generic role, such as System Administrator, Database Admin, Security Officer, etc. your textbook and other supplemental readings listed different organizational roles responsible for managing risk) 20 points.
Risk Mitigation Plan:
Asset
Threat
Impact
Recommended Security Control

Personal Behavior Change Plan
[WLOs: 4, 5] [CLOs: 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7]
For your Final Project, you are to develop a personal behavioral change plan. After completing the assessments throughout the course, you should have a good idea of your wellness strengths and your weaknesses. Choose one dimension of wellness that you would like to change. (The dimension should be clearly stated. For example, state physical dimension instead of exercise).
Discuss each of the following areas in your plan:
Identify the wellness dimension you want to improve. Explain why you chose this dimension. In your response, describe your previous assessments and examine at least three lifestyle factors (diet, exercise, substance use, etc.) responsible for low assessment results in the dimension of wellness you chose to improve.
Compare your current behaviors to the ideal behaviors for each of the lifestyle factors that you identified. For example, if you selected stress as a lifestyle factor that contributes to your low assessment of emotional wellness, then compare your current stress-related behaviors (fighting with family, eating sweets, watching TV, drinking alcohol, etc.) to ideal stress management behaviors (appropriate conflict-resolution, meditation, daily exercise, massage, deep breathing, etc.). Select a minimum of one current behavior and one ideal behavior for each of the three lifestyle factors that you identified.
Describe the health risks and diseases associated with your current behaviors. Explain how your current behaviors would lead to these negative consequences if left unchanged.
Review the Stages of Change (Transtheoretical model) in Chapter 1 of your course textbook. Explain this model and discuss your readiness to change. Include which stage of change you are in currently and why you feel this way.
Imagine that you were ready to plan for change, and identify three behaviors you could adopt to decrease your health risk and improve your specified dimension of wellness. Use the previous information to help with your selection.
Review the supplemental material on the social cognitive theory, theory of planned behavior, health belief model, and Transtheoretical model provided in Week 1. Using these theories and models, discuss how each one may be able to predict your success in making this change. In your reply, explain the use of models and theories in health and wellness.
Describe three barriers (one barrier per behavior change) that may prevent you from making these changes. Barriers to behavior change are discussed in Chapter 1 of the course text.
Discuss one way to overcome each of your barriers.
Refer to the development of SMART goals in Chapter 1 of your text and develop three of your own SMART goals. Be sure to include all the parts of a SMART goal (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time Frame) for each goal set. As you discuss these in your assignment, explain your objectives and why you chose these goals.
Finally, develop a wellness philosophy based on your own values and beliefs and from what you have learned in this class.
Create a PowerPoint presentation. Within the presentation, include detailed speaker notes for each slide. See the How to Make a PowerPoint Presentation (Links to an external site.) resource for additional guidance. Your behavioral change plan should use a minimum of four scholarly sources in addition to the course text, cited in APA format as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.

Do knowledge, skills, and attitudes (ksas) & reply to christys
Review the Training in Action 1-3 scenario titled, Training Needs in the Student Registration Office in Chapter 1 of the Blanchard and Thacker (2013) text. Assume that you were hired to develop a training program for the Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) as described in the scenario. Identify four of the most important KSAs (Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes) a training program for the CSRs must address and include your reasoning for selecting these. Discuss the specific activities to be performed in the five phases of the training process model: Analysis Phase, Design Phase, Development Phase, Implementation Phase, and Evaluation Phase.
Use this weeks lecture as a foundation for your initial post. Incorporate into your discussion the transfer of training concepts from the Jaidev and Chirayath (2012) article with an emphasis on pre-training, during-training, and post-training activities. Utilize concepts from the Develop a Training Plan video and the Blanchard and Thacker (2013) text in your discussion. Your initial post should be 250 to 300 words.
Respond to at least two other posts regarding items you found to be compelling and enlightening. To help you with your reply, please consider the following questions:
What did you learn from the posting?
What additional questions do you have after reading the posting?
What clarification do you need regarding the posting?
What differences or similarities do you see between your initial discussion thread and your classmates’ postings?
Compare the KSAs you identified with those identified by others.
What are the differences or similarities in the activities identified for the five phases of the training process model between your initial discussion thread and others?
Analyze your classmates’ chosen KSAs. Do you agree or disagree with the choices? Why or why not? Provide examples where possible.
Your reply posts should be a minimum of 150-250 words each.
REPLY TO CHRISTYS DISCUSSION:
Four of the most important KSAs that a training program for CSRs must address are making sure there is a clear understanding of what was taught and how it can be applied, the skills obtained during the training process, and the attitude in which is observed. Knowledge according to Blanchard & Thacker (2013) is an organized body of facts, principles, procedures, and information acquired over time. To make sure there is a clear understanding, test or quizzes may be necessary. When it comes to the application of what is learned, on-the-job assessments are a useful tool to evaluate progress. Skills are knowing what to do and when to do it which includes getting to the level of automaticity where there is no conscious effort in the decision-making process, it just comes naturally over time as a skill that is perfected. Last, the attitude can affect the behavior, so keeping the CSR motivated is important. Overtime being in Customer Service myself for many years, I have noticed that attitude can change if
Discuss the specific activities to be performed in the five phases of the training process model: Analysis Phase defines the problem and determines the cause, Design Phase identifies and examines methods for training, Development Phase is the strategy that is formulated, Implementation Phase is carrying out the plan, and Evaluation Phase is evaluating outcome and how it met the needs of the organization.
Incorporate into your discussion the transfer of training concepts from the Jaidev and Chirayath (2012) article with an emphasis on pre-training, during training, and post-training activities. Transfer of training is contingent upon trainee characteristics, training design, and work environment. The climate of the environment can affect the trainee so should not be too hot or too cold. Once training is complete goals should be set and evaluation completed to continue to develop training goals. (Jaidev & Chirayath, 2012).
Utilize concepts from the Develop a Training Plan video and the Blanchard and Thacker (2013) text in your discussion. I enjoyed the 4 levels of evaluating training and find it the most beneficial from the video. They are as follows: Reaction which is how people react during training, learning which can be tested or quizzed to determine what was retained, behavior and if anything changed after training by following up down the road and results which are more sufficient and allow to determine if the training is effective. They mentioned in the video that most trainers only concern themselves with the reaction but if more would focus on all four the results would be much more effective. (Blanchard & Thacker, 2013).

Assignment 2: strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats
Refer to the Scenario for the Assignments.
First, conduct a SWOT analysis of your technology integration. This analysis should cover the four (4) categories Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. You will submit this analysis with your paper.
A SWOT analysis provides a clear baseline regarding the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of your chosen technology. There are many templates available online that you might wish to research before beginning your analysis work. Education World has a very short article that may also help to organize your thoughts: http://www.educationworld.com/a_admin/greatmeetings/greatmeetings018.shtmlhttp://www.educationworld.com/a_admin/greatmeetings/greatmeetings018.shtml.
Next, write a six to eight (68) page (or 1,5002,000 word) paper to address the following:
Provide an Introduction in which you present the scope of your analysis and how the two technologies you have selected work together to enhance the learning environment. (Note: Place this at the beginning the paper as the Introduction.)
Provide a short description in one or two (1 or 2) paragraphs, of a class or module to frame your SWOT analysis. As you move through the analysis, keep in mind that your selected technologies must help to support instructional goals and learning outcomes.
Using each portion of your SWOT analysis, include three to five (3-5) examplesof how your technologies provide strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, or threats. You must support these examples with clear rationale and research. These are NOT to be written as simple bullet points without detailed information.
Provide a hypothetical timeline (of between six [6] months and a year) for the project development and implementation.
Provide a summary of the main points of your analysis and at least three (3) recommendations for the implementation of the new technologies in a summary paragraph.
Provide at least five (5) peer-reviewed references, published in the last three (3) years.
Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:
Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.

Case 4 | Literature homework help
Bill & Jeans Restaurant
Mothers Day is Bill & Jeans Restaurants busiest day of the year. The restaurant has seating for 350 guests. On a normal Sunday the restaurant will serve a total of 1200 guests. Five years ago the original owners of Bill & Jeans Restaurant, Bill and Jean, decided to try something different on Mothers Day. On Mothers Day the restaurant converted to all buffet service. The Mothers Day buffets were an instant success and have been continued every year with the number of guests served increasing every year. Bill & Jeans is well known for its elaborate Mothers Day breakfast, brunch and dinner buffet.
The Mothers Day buffet also becomes something looked forward to by all of the restaurants staff. A tradition had been established the rst year when Bill and Jean invited the immediate family members of all staff to be their guests for the breakfast buffet. A staggered schedule was even established that allowed the staff member to have 45 minutes to eat with their family.
Last year between 8am and 8pm the restaurant served 2800 guests, 50 of which were staff and their family members, up from 2550 the previous year. Bill and Jean decided to retire shortly after Mothers day last year and sold the restaurant. The goal of the new owners is to increase the number of paying guests by fifteen percent this year for a total of 3048 paying guests. They have reviewed the previous years Mothers Day sales and profitability. It is clear to them that the impact of the free meals for the staff members families on profitability and extra labor cost for the special scheduling has to be stopped. The cost is just too high.
The key to success on Mothers Day at Bill & Jeans has always been planning and execution of the plan grounded in a foundation of teamwork. Planning for the buffets began the week after Mothers Day. Bill and Jean had started the planning process with the Mothers Day team (better known as the MDT) of the managers and chef before leaving. After their departure the new owners, Ron and Jeff, took over the planning personally. They quickly made it known to the previous members of the MDT that there would be no family comps or staff member eating with family on the upcoming Mothers Day.
Ron and Jeff know that too succeed in their goal on Mothers Day the level of teamwork throughout the restaurant must be high. They are 1 month away from the big day and worried. Everything they have tried to maintain and increase the level of teamwork has failed. The staff just does not seem to have any enthusiasm for either the day-to-day business or the upcoming big day. A number of staff members have indicated that they are not willing to work overtime to do prep for or on Mothers Day. Ron and Jeff have even heard rumors that members of the management team, including the chef, are looking at jobs with other restaurants.
Based on what you have learned from previous chapters and the content of this chapter answer the following questions.

In the Ted video that I just watched, this short clip was very powerful I can say that I learned alot in just a few minutes. Ted was saying that creativity is important in education literacy, he also said that students are scared to be wrong, they always wanted to right. He also talked about Dynamic, he also went on to say that we as parents, teachers, etc, that we are the children hope that they are or job and that we have to help them, and also prepare them for whats to come in the world today. Once again this video open up my eyes to think about, things in a different way.

Is the product of our massive schooling industry an endless legion of assistants? The century of dream-snuffing has to end. The real shortage we face is dreams, and the wherewithal and the will to make them come true. Were facing a significant emergency, one thats not just economic but cultural as well. The time to act is right now, and the person to do it is you.
We can teach them not to care; thats pretty easy. But given the massive technological and economic changes were living through, do we have the opportunity to teach productive and effective caring? Can we teach kids to care enough about their dreams that theyll care enough to develop the judgment, skill, and attitude to make them come true? (
What connections do you see to the ideas that Sir Ken suggested about school killing creativity?
Sir Ken suggested that all children have different way of learning. their learning at their pace, but because the school system is killing creativity it make it hard for children learn and teacher have to find a new way of teaching children.
Are a help or a hindrance in fostering creativity?
I think the Common Core Standards is a set high-quality academic standards in mathematics and English language art/literacy. However, these learning goals outline what children need know and be able to do at the end of each grade levels.
How would following Seth Gordon’s advice support or inhibit the ideas that our students need to be better prepared to compete against other in global economy?
Teacher are designed to ensure that children are prepared for entry-level careers, freshman-level college courses, and workforce training programs. Students need to able develop the critical-thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills students will need to be successful.
How would this advice inhibit or improve the ability for students to learn twenty-first century skills? Explain your thinking.
I believe that the standards are designed to prepared students for the outside the classroom. They include critical-thinking skills and the ability to closely and attentively read tests in a way that will help them understand and enjoy complex works of literature. Students will learn how to use cogent reasoning and evidence collection skills to be successful in the 21st century.

Bay area environment paper | Environmental science homework help
Introduction
Throughout this course weve investigated the basics of sustainability (Social Ecology Model), what sustainability means to different economy sectors, the longterm and short-term processes that shape our landforms, how climates play a role in our lifestyles and how our lifestyles affect microclimates, the importance of climate change on flooding and droughts, the health of the SF Bay estuary and how urbanization has affected biodiversity, the benefits and impacts of agriculture, how intricate and vital water resources are for our future, the value and problems of transportation on society, current and future energy use in California, the relevance of trees, parks and wilderness to an urban environment, and the enormity of urban garbage and waste. Although it is impossible for one individual to enact immediate change in all these areas, making small personal changes every day can help move the Bay Area towards a sustainable future.
Project Summary
Your final paper will be a minimum 1,500 word written synopsis of your personal impact on the Bay Area Environment. You need to address the topics covered in this course and how your lifestyle choices relate to each topic (e.g. carbon footprint, water footprint, energy use, transportation habits, dietary habits, etc.). You should consider formatting your synopsis around the scientific method/process, where you are asking a question (how can I change my lifestyle to promote a sustainable future), complete background research by gathering external sources to support your position, include data (numerical values of your carbon footprint, water footprint, etc.), and you should also discuss how the Bay Area as a whole can change (e.g. you can bike to school/work more often, but the Bay Area can invest in rebuilding our transportation infrastructure to promote increased public transit). Finally, a strong conclusion detailing how you, and all of those who call the Bay Area home, can reduce your personal impact on the Bay Area environment.
HERE IS THE CARBON FOOTPRINT; you can use it as your data.

I. Introduction
Addresses the topic & its importance
Provide central question of your paper (i.e. how can I change my lifestyle to promote a sustainable future?)
II. Discussion
Part I: Discuss your personal impacts on the Bay Area environment. This includes data from your previous labs. Include steps you can take to reduce our personal impact on the Bay Area environment. Discuss personal results and what results mean personally.
Part II: Make connections between the different topics weve covered throughout the semester (e.g. how water use affects the agriculture industry, the energy sector, the environmental sector, etc.). Every topic weve discussed about the Bay Area environment affects some aspect of the other topics, so connect the dots, so-to-speak. I dont want simple summaries of your previous lab reports. This final paper needs to connect everything together.
Part III: Discuss how the Bay Area as a whole can change to promote a more sustainable future. You can discuss increasing our tree canopy cover, investing in green energy, improving our transportation network, etc. These are changes different from your personal changes discussed in the first body paragraph, but you can discuss how your personal changes will affect the societal changes (e.g. installing solar panels on your home). This section definitely needs supporting information from outside sources. There are numerous posted on iLearn to get you started. Dont forget to cite the sources in the text of the paper and include a references section.
III. Conclusion
Readdresses the overall topic & its importance
Summarizes main points
Proper formatting

Assignments
Choose between these two groups of problems, noting that there are two problems in each group:
Group A:
A newspaper columnist signs a contract with a newspaper chain. Several months later she is offered a position with another newspaper chain at a higher salary. Because she would prefer making more money, she notifies the first chain that she is breaking her contract. The courts will decide the legality of her action. But what of the morality? Did the columnist behave ethically?
An airline pilot goes for his regular medical checkup. The doctor discovers that he has developed a heart murmur. The pilot only has a month to go before he is eligible for retirement. The doctor know this and wonders whether, under these unusual circumstances, she is justified in withholding the information about the pilot’s condition.
Group B:
An office worker had a record of frequent absence. He used all his vacation and sick leave days and frequently requested additional leave without pay. His supervisor and co-workers expressed great frustration because his absenteeism caused bottlenecks in paperwork, created low morale in the office, and required others to do his work in addition to their own. On the other hand, he felt he was entitled to take his earned time and additional time off without pay. Was he right?
Rhonda enjoys socializing with fellow employees at work, but their discussion usually consists of gossiping about other people, including several of her friends. At first Rhonda feels uncomfortable talking in this way about people she is close to, but then she decided it does no real harm and she feels no remorse for joining in.
Please wait until at least Thursday to begin working on this assignment so you can include the information we are learning in the threads and in our readings in your thought processes.
Parameters for writing this paper:
1. Answer the questions raised in the problems above. You will have two separate sections to your paper, one on each separate question in your chosen group.
You do not have to write an “English class” style paper this week. Answer each problem separately.
2. While writing your answers, incorporate the ideas of “good vs. evil,” “wrong vs. right,” and “ought/should be vs. what is.”
3. Explain in your answer to each problem how Augustine and Aquinas would have solved the problem based on what we learned about each here in the materials and course, and if they differ, why?
4. Your two sets of answers should be about two pages, double spaced.
Write your answer and save it in a Word document, entitled, “YourLastnameEthicsWeek2.docx,”
for example, Christopher Columbus would turn in a document named “ColumbusEthicsWeek2.docx.“
Submit your lab to the Dropbox located on the silver tab at the top of this page. For instructions on how to use the Dropbox, read these step-by-step instructions or watch this Dropbox Tutorial.
