MHS 5010 Directional Strategies Report
Write a 46-page directional strategies report that examines the alignment of a health care organization’s current directional strategies with its strategic goals. Include improvement recommendations that address gaps between where the organization currently is and where it wants to go.Note: Each assessment in this course builds upon the work you have completed in previous assessments. Therefore, you must complete the assessments in the order in which they are presented.SHOW LESSIn your previous assessments, you examined how today’s health care organizations prepare themselves for the present and the future through strategic management. Specifically, you analyzed how a health care organization’s external and internal environments affect its operations. You also performed a TOWS analysis to help a health care organization identify strategic objectives to drive and improve all aspects of the company. The next step is to consider the directional pathways health care organizations take to achieve their strategic objectives. Creating a strategic vision for a health care organization involves developing or revising the organization’s mission, vision, and value statements. Here is a summary of these three directional strategies:In a first-in-class health care organization, these three directional strategies align with the company’s overarching goals. Once strategic leaders are confident the mission, vision, and values are well formulated, understood, and communicated, they then focus on the activities that will make the most progress toward accomplishing the organization’s mission and move it toward realizing its vision. These activities are called strategic goals. This assessment provides an opportunity for you to create a directional strategies report. In this report, you will analyze the alignment of your health care organization’s current directional strategies (mission, vision, and value statements) with its strategic goals. You will make recommendations for improvement if you identify gaps between where your health care organization currently is and where it wants to go.By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and assessment criteria:
Management Macroeconomic Factors Influencing Interest Rates Essay
Part 1: Interest Rates Many managers do not understand the various ways that interest rates can affect business decisions. For example, if your company decided to build a plant with a 30-year life and short-term debt financing (renewed annually), the cost of the plant could skyrocket if interest rates were to return to their previous highs of 12% to 14%. On the other hand, locking into high, long-term rates could be very costly also with a long period when low short-term interest rates were to be available. As you can see, the ability to know your economic environment and its impact on projected interest rates can be crucial to making good financing decisions.Describe two to three macroeconomic factors that influence interest rates in general. Explain the effects of each factor on interest rates. Now think about the industry in which you are employed or one in which you have past experience. To what macroeconomic factors is your industry most sensitive?Describe two contemporary factors that seem to be impacting your industry today, and identify their impacts on the interest rates experienced within your chosen industry.Stock valuationDividend Discount Model Stock ValuationHow to value a company using discounted cash flow (DCF)Stock Valuation and Investment Decisions The links above contain information on stock valuation, risk and returns. Please review each one of them. Based on the knowledge gained from the materials presented in the links above, complete the following activities:Present a detailed discussion of what you learned about stock valuation. Provide examples of how your company have used the concepts. Do you believe financing a company’s operation using stock is better than financing with bonds? Why or why not? Support your discussion with a numerical example.Based on the materials presented in the Risk and Return video, present a discussion on why the materials are important in financial decision making. How would you incorporate risk and return in your financing decisions?
General Healthcare Technology Trends Discussion Question
In response to your peers, discuss the contribution of genes and the environment in the determination of who we are.Classmate # 1 Pamela The reason that this experiment is so vital is because there are thousands of sets of twins, but even though they are genetically the same, they vary ever so slightly. Wither it’s food preferences, music choice, or personality. There is also the case of illness; one twin might get sick, and the other doesn’t. I like how the experiment concentrated on how the genetics changed over time, and compared twins not only to each other but to other sets of another age group. Heredity is something that is a gamble. For example, my mom has a genetic auto-immune illness, but yet me and my brother both do not possess the gene that would allow us to get this illness Classmate # 2 RobertThe reason as to why genetically identical mice can look so different, is a matter of genes. As the mice are genetically the same, some genes are turned “on” or “off”. This allows the genetically identical mice to have different appearance. In this case, DNA methylation, or the methyl group will attach to a gene controlling its behavior. Controlling if it is “on” or “off”. To me, this is absolutely mind blowing. Humans can alter what genes show their presence and what genes do not. This can be done on the scientific scale, but also by the individual, through certain lifestyle habits. With that information, it would make sense as to why certain ways of living can lead to similar effects as other living the same lifestyles. Looking at society, peoples lifestyles have a clear impact on their body and appearance, but the fact that it also changes what we can’t see. Being able to change the body on the genetic level throws me for a loop. Very interesting and very cool. Definitely learned a lot from this video!

Unit 1
For Unit 1, you’ll have a few different assignments to complete. First, you should read all of the attached documents and videos (the two documents in this unit below, along with the Library Instruction videos that are linked) which provide an overview of the work you’ll be doing this semester and get you started with a solid foundation in research-based writing. The material covered in these documents is absolutely vital to your success in the course. After you’ve completed the reading and viewing, you should move on to the Project Plan, which will be your method for selecting a topic to write about this summer.
Unit 2
As with the first unit, your work in the second unit should begin with reading all of the assigned material included below. In this unit we’ll begin conducting scholarly research. Your major assignment for the unit will be the submission of an annotated bibliography. Please carefully review all of the guidelines, the overview of Works Cited citations, and the sample annotated bibliography so that you can meet all assignment expectations. The annotated bibliography will be due at the end of the unit (Sunday June 23 at 11:59 p.m.)
As always, please let me know if you need help. The annotated bibliography will require you to perform several tasks (building a research question/thesis, finding sources, citing sources, evaluating sources, and linking sources to your argument), so if you need any help with any of these tasks, please let me know. I’m always happy to answer questions or to review drafts of work ahead of submission.
I’ll also be grading your Project Plan forms as you get them submitted. Make sure to check the feedback that I provide when you get your grade. For some topics, I might ask for additional analysis or clarification in my comments before I approve the topic, so please pay close attention to the feedback that I provide.
This is what the instructor wants for the first 2 units.

Adapting for Individual Differences
According to Harvard University (2010), Experiences children have early in life – and the environments in which they have them – shape their developing brain architecture and strongly affect whether they grow up to be healthy, productive members of society (as cited in Bredekamp, 2017, p. 141). Therefore as professionals in the field, we play a key role in the outcomes of those children we care for. Acknowledging and adapting for the uniqueness of each child in our care is a starting place for helping children reach their full potential.
To prepare for this discussion, read the article A Unified Theory of Development: A Dialectic Integration of Nature and Nurture (Links to an external site.).
For your initial post:
Compare and contrast Sameroffs Transactional Theory of Development to Bronfenbrenners Ecological Model of Human Development. Use a visual representation (graphic organizer) to complete this comparison.
Explain how as a leader in the field of early childhood education you will account for genetic and environmental circumstances of children while not limiting your expectations for them. How will you ensure you are taking a balanced approach?
Compare your legal obligations to meeting the needs of all children with your ethical and professional obligations. How are each of these interconnected? Support this portion of your discussion with your text and your required readings.
Design a reflective checklist that you can use in your classroom or school/center to ensure you are meeting your legal, ethical and professional obligations to adapting for individual differences. Your checklist must contain the important legal, ethical and professional big ideas for each and every classroom and school/center.

Discussion: A Critical Look at the Question of Class
The course text describes the impact of socioeconomic status on parenting style and the socialization of children. Berns defines four levels of “class” and describes characteristics of each. Yet, further reading implies that the conceptand realityof social class may be more complex than the author’s presentation.
Your role as a student is not only to read for information, but also to read critically as well. Review the “Class Descriptions” and “Effects of Class” sections of the course text (pages 107-109), paying close attention to the values and behaviors ascribed to each class and especially the “lower class” and the “underclass.”
Then, review the “Class Matters: Shadowy Lines That Still Divide” article, which discusses modern views of social class in the United States.
Next, consider the following:
What you know about class in America today
Your experiences related to class
The differences between the presentation of class in America today in the New York Times article and the description of class in the course text
Your thoughts about those differences
How children may be affected by class and by people’s attitudes and beliefs related to class
How the information presented in your text might have a negative affect on teachers’ perceptions of children and their families
By Day 3
Based on the readings and your own experiences, post your thoughts in regard to:
Your views on differences between social classes that have the most influence on outcomes for children
In your future work with young children and families, how you will avoid allowing stereotypes, assumptions, and labels that can create negative and/or limited perceptions of children and families from influencing you
Business impact analysis and dr planning
In addition to risk analysis organizations must conduct a business impact analysis in order to determine the criticality of business functions. This analysis aids the IT staff and management in determining what resources to put into protecting these business functions, as well as in what order functions should be restored in the event of a disaster.
Consider an organization such as the Bridge Street Center discussed in the case study in Module 04 Written Assignment – Case Study Analysis: Risk Analysis in a Hospital Setting. IT services deliver important functions for both staff and patients, but in the event of a disaster (natural or otherwise) the small IT staff must be prepared to resource services in the way that serves the organization the best.
Requirements:
List five IT/computer systems that would be used by the Bridge Street Center that would be supported by the IT department in order to conduct regular business, support employees, care for patients, etc. These would be systems that would be in danger of going down and would need to be restored in the event of a power outage or disaster. Describe each system, its purpose, and who uses it.
For each of the five systems you chose, give the parameters for each of the following should there be a system outage:
Recovery Point Objective (RPO)
Recovery Time Objective (RTO)
Business recovery prerequisites
Technical recovery prerequisites
Note: The four terms above are described in your textbook reading. You also may want to do some additional research on the internet. If you do, be sure to cite your references.Your paper should include the following criteria:
1 page in length, double-spaced.
Free of spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors.

Part of implementing Ken 7 Windows new enterprise resource planning (ERP) software is setting up a new recovery procedure for each type of computer. These procedures will guide administrators in recovering a failed computer to a condition as near to the point of failure as possible. The goal is to minimize both downtime and data loss. You have already implemented the following backup strategies for workstation computers:
– All desktop workstations were originally installed from a single image for Ken 7 Windows standard workstations. The base image is updated with all patches and new software installed on live workstations.
– Desktop workstation computer execute a backup of identified folders that contain new and modified files every night at 1:00 a.m. Desktop workstation backups generally take less than 10 minutes.
Using the format below, describe the steps necessary to recover a desktop workstation computer that encounters a disk drive failure at 5:30 a.m. local time. The user arrived at work and found that the computer would not boot.
Answer the following questions:
1. How much data has been modified between the last backup and the time of failure?2. What images are necessary to recover the workstation?3. What are the steps necessary to fix the problem that cause the data loss?4. What steps should Ken 7 take to avoid a reoccurrence of this issue in the future?

Week 5 – Discussion 1
Your initial discussion thread is due on Day 3 (Thursday) and you have until Day 7 (Monday) to respond to your classmates. Your grade will reflect both the quality of your initial post and the depth of your responses.
War and Peace
The origin and source of human violence is a central topic for anthropologists. Cross-cultural studies show evidence of both peaceful and violent societies. In this discussion, choose to answer one of the prompts below. Choose only one:
Some argue that gender roles play a part in the extent of violence in a society. Based on chapter eight, especially pages 322-323 and the research report by Horn et al. (2014), what are some of the differences in gender roles between peaceful and violent societies? Cite and explain some reasons for these differences. Make sure to give examples from specific cultures and provide the empirical evidence why some scholars argue for this connection. Then, discuss what form of evidence would not support this connection.
War has been seen as a causal agent for cultural change, specifically on the development of complex societies. Based on Chapter 8 of the textbook, in particular pages 325-326, explain what Robert Carneiro argues is the effect of war on the evolution of societies. Explain his theory and make sure to provide evidence that supports this. Then, discuss what form of evidence would not support this theory.
Guided Response: Respond to at least two peers and/or instructor. Make sure to respond to a peer who chose a different question than you chose yourself. In your answer, try to add a consideration, based on evidence from the textbook or another reliable source that was not fully discussed in the peer post.
