PCC Reducing Stress Lab Write Up

Part 1: Personal ExperienceDescribe how you personally felt after going through your chosen treatment. Did you experience a reduction in stress? How do you know? How long did the effects last?Studies show that stress reduction benefits increase with regular use. How likely are you to continue with either practicing mindfulness meditation or limiting social media use on your own? What are the potential benefits? What could be the challenges of continuing this routine?Do you think the other stress reduction treatment (the one you did not personally do) would work better or worse for you, compared to the treatment you chose? Why?Part 2: Experiment ConclusionsCopy and paste the graph you created here (from the Module for Week 4.3 Lab:  “Reducing Stress? Data Analysis”).Summarize the results of your data analysis as seen in your graph. Did mindfulness practice reduce stress? Did limiting social media use reduce stress? Which one was more effective? Be sure to include specific values from your analysis.Using at least one source, write a short paragraph about how the stress response might be altered by either mindfulness meditation or limiting social media use (you may pick either). Be sure to describe the physiological basis of the response – what is physically happening in the body? To help you think about physiological changes, remember the measurements you took in class when you were doing the mindfulness meditation and what changes you noticed were occurring. Be sure that the source is credible source, and include both an in-text citation and a full citation in your works cited.Did the results of our experiment agree with your explanation from question #3? Why do you think this might have been the case?It may be helpful to review your notes from Lesson – Nervous System and the Stress Pathway to integrate relevant physiology information into your discussion.Part 3: Experimental Design CritiqueThe goal of this research study is to understand how effectively mindfulness meditation and/or limiting social media use reduce stress levels. An important part of any research study is assessing the significance of the results — How much of these results can be generalized?Name at least one variable that we did not control for while conducting this experiment (i.e., a variable that we did not measure). Explain what it was and how it could have affected the results.Identify at least 2 potential limitations of this experiment, considering factors such as the duration of the study, sample size, use of controls, demographics of participants, and measurement protocol. Explain how each of these limitations might affect the interpretation and generalizability of the results. (You may find it helpful to review the Evaluating Experimental Design and Scientific Claims page  as you write this response.)If you were to conduct another study to test this hypothesis, how could you improve the study design? Explain at least two changes that you would make and why they would improve the quality of this study from a scientific perspective. What new question(s) do you have based on your findings from this class experiment? Explain. You must list at least one new question.

Education final assignment j jordan

Athletic Director:  Congratulations! Mission accomplished! All three teams achieved their  goal, and I know it was your help that brought us this success. I can’t  thank you enough! Now I have one last request. We need to put it all  together for this final assignment. I need you to prepare a pamphlet the  team can use in-between seasons when you are not available. Let’s  focus! I’ll have each coach tell you what they need.
Coach Speedy:  Our season starts late summer and ends late fall. I tell my athletes  that their off-season determines how well they do during the season.  Since their off-season includes the hot summer months, they need  guidance on hydration. What should they drink during the hot summer  training months?
Coach Power:  We pump iron all year round. How much protein should my athletes be  eating? Should they eat the protein before or after they work out?
Coach Combo:  During the off-season, my players will continue to strength condition  and run for aerobic conditioning. I know they need to eat before and  after they exercise. What is the timing and what should they eat?
Athletic Director: Now that you have heard from each coach, let’s put this assignment together. I  am looking forward to seeing what you develop. You can use any  platform, for example, video, pamphlet, brochure, flipbook, Prezi  presentation, but make it interesting so our athletes will want to read  it. Throw in a few pictures and colors. Have fun. Think out of the box  but be sure to include the following though. You can add other tidbits  of information, but be sure to address these concerns. You can pick any  of the three topics.
Topic 1: Hydration Recommendations

Specific guidelines for fluids to drink and how much
Ways to detect if you are hydrated

Topic 2: Protein recommendations

How much protein the athlete should eat
Sources of protein

Topic 3: Pre and Post Workout Recommendations

Timing of eating before and after exercising
What foods should be eaten

It  has been great having you help us out! The coaches and I have enjoyed  your contributions, and you have made our teams successful! We wish you  the best as you continue your training.

Local Healthcare Organizations in Illinois Local Health Care Organizations Paper

For part one of your course project, please conduct research in your region and compile a list of local health care organizations.RequirementsHERE ARE MY NOTES TO HELP YOU : Module 01 – Introduction to Health Care ProfessionsWe will focus on the types of Health Care Organizations that you will find in most geographic regions of the United States. While all health care organizations work towards improving the health of their communities, there are different classifications including acute care, ambulatory care, and long-term care.For-Profit and Not-For-ProfitHealth care organizations can also be for-profit or not-for-profit. For-profit health care organizations are owned by investors, and not-for-profit health care organizations are owned by other not-for-profit organizations like churches or universities. In addition to ownership, the differences between these models include their financial structures and goals. While there are differences, they operate and have similar organizational structures.Inpatient and OutpatientWhen discussing these types of Health Care Organizations, it is important to understand the difference between inpatient and outpatient services. Anytime you see the word inpatient, it means that the patient receives care overnight. Anytime you see the word outpatient, it means that they are treated in one day and are discharged without staying overnight.Types of FacilitiesAcute care facilities have patients that are admitted overnight with expected length of stay times of less than 30 days. The most common type of acute care facility is a hospital. In this type of setting patients usually receive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, for example: labs, radiology, surgeries, and rehabilitation.Ambulatory care facilities offer outpatient services, which do not require an overnight admission. Some examples of ambulatory care facilities include: physician offices, public health departments, dental clinics, and chiropractic offices.Long-term care facilities usually contain patients with a length of stay of greater than 30 days. Examples of long-term care facilities include: skilled nursing facilities, nursing homes, and rehabilitation hospitals.Public Health Departments and Free Clinics operate to help individuals with limited or no health insurance. While funding varies, public health departments typically operate with the help of state taxes and Free Clinics are usually run by volunteers. Many times medical students and dental students will work at free clinics to help earn their clinical hours while also benefitting the general population.

The Successful Creation of Profits Aim of Businesses Discussion

Respond to one or more of the following: Reply to at least 2 of your classmates:BY STEPHANIE The lean concept focuses on eliminating waste of all kinds. This also includes non- value add activities. The lean process creates more value for the customer and learning about how to improve and reduce waste in production means swifter completion of products with less errors and better quality. This process has been applied to many different manufacturing organizations to streamline their production process. The process started with Toyota and has moved throughout the manufacturing industry as away to help improve the output of products and increase the bottom line. Lean is also being implemented into services lines to provide better service to their customer by removing barrier. Barriers in systems cause issues and waste and implementing the lean process removes those barriers and makes the process more efficient.Work center scheduling is the process of organizing how the manufacturing of the process should be done. Once a hierarchy is created for manufacturing then the work center schedule can be created. The schedule pieces together how the manufacturing should be done to be the most efficient and the lean concept can be directly impacted in this part of manufacturing.By ShuntaThe main idea behind lean is to use the minimum number of resources possible to accomplish a task and to eliminate waste. This can be removing processes that are unnecessary or can be handled in a better way, but can also be cutting out waste by improving quality in each step of the process. For example, by teaching someone on the assembly line to quickly look for mistakes in items they receive and to check their work for defects before passing it on, the company saves resources that might otherwise be spent on defected products, either through re-working or through customer refunds. It also provides teaching opportunities for these employees to improve their processes and make the whole system more efficient. This process, lean, is important to study because the end goal of any company is to make money and part of that is reducing costs. By eliminating waste, both in processes and inventory, the company saves money on the front end which equates to more profits for the company and much happier.

WU Competing Interests in Public Policy& Waste Management Discussion

Competing Interests in Public Policy Contemporary public policy often is the result of a complex series of interactions among a large group of actors. Legislative bodies and government agencies are important players in policy formulation and implementation; however, they are not the only entities involved. There is a multitude of interested parties that may be involved in a public policy issue. For example, education policy issues might involve National Departments of Education, local departments of education, local school boards, teachers, and parents. In addition, there may be other competing interests such as church groups, atheist groups, or publishing groups, which believe that certain subjects should or should not be taught in schools. The interaction among interested parties—referred to as and considered to be competing interests—may be harmonious or conflicting, but their collective involvement in the policy network may have a major effect on outcomes of public policy. With these thoughts in mind:this IS THE QUESTION (focus on this ) Post a brief description of the issue you selected and the competing interests involved. Then, explain the role that the competing interests play in advocating and formulating public policy related to your particular issue.Imperial, M. T. (2005). – where they received their health care
– how they viewed their health care and health care providers
– what changes they have seen in the health care system
– any other facts or information you obtain from the interviewees
In your conclusion, provide a summary of the similarities and differences noted between the generations.
This paper should be about 3-5 pages in length with appropriate referencing and in APA format. This assignment is worth 100 points (10% of your grade) and is due in Week 3.
The sources you will be citing will be the people you interviewed. If you use direct quotes, you are to cite the source immediately following the sentence it was used in. Also, you are required to have a works cited page with your source information.
Citations for Interviews and Personal Communication
Personal interviews and personal communications (email, group discussions, electronic bulletin boards, telephone conversations) are NOT mentioned at the end of the paper on the list of references. However, they are cited in-text throughout the paper.
For personal communication, you should give the author’s full name (first and middle initials followed by last name), the kind of communication, followed by the date of communication.
Example: (J.L. Smith, personal interview, April 10, 2006)

Sexual Disconnect
James and Yelena have been married for 22 years and have three grown children, now out of the house. Sex was never particularly enjoyable for Yelena, primarily because James was uninterested in much foreplay and Yelena felt it was unfeminine to make any sexual demands of her husband. However, because of her love for James, she accommodated his desire for sex two or three times a week, and consistently “faked orgasms.”
James also does not think “a real man” should receive any “help” from his wife to get an erection, even when his erections became less firm and less predictable. As a result, over the last two years, James rarely initiated sex and Yelena felt relieved, thinking she would now be “excused from sex.” Furthermore, she is in perimenopause, and has begun to experience increasingly uncomfortable penetration. Suddenly, James’ vigor and sexual interest has returned with greater intensity than ever. Yelena discovered he was secretly taking Viagra, which he obtained over the Internet.

Discuss how effective you think Viagra will be for improving James’ sex life, and why?
Suppose Yelena’s discovery that James is using Viagra secretly is the “last straw” for her after years of not addressing her unsatisfying sexual life with him, and she demands that they seek marriage counseling and focus on their sex life.
In this case:

What part of this dilemma should a counselor point out is Yelena’s responsibility to acknowledge and address? Additionally, what special issues regarding her perimenopause will need to be addressed?

Sexual orientation and social responsibility

Assignment  #1
Chapter 7 in your textbook discusses the unique issues that are experienced by older gay men and lesbians in society. Review that chapter and watch “Isn’t Aging the Same for Everybody?” to prepare for this discussion. In addition, review the information related to resources for the aging found at the “LGBT Aging Resources Clearinghouse” for this discussion. Then, consider what the issues facing older gay men and lesbians are. Specifically, discuss the legal issues that are related to public policies, end-of-life decisions, housing, and health care. Compare and contrast the experiences of older gays and lesbians with those of older heterosexuals.
Please note that this discussion is not about whether you personally support homosexuality. You should focus your discussion on what issues are experienced by this group and how those experiences differ from those of older heterosexuals.
Your initial post should be at least 250 words in length. Support your claims with examples from the required material(s) and/or other scholarly resources, and properly cite any references.

Assignment  #2
You will be reading Chapter 7 of the textbook and an article titled “Demography of Aging in China and the United States and the Economic Well-Being of Their Older Populations” (found in the ProQuest database, in the Ashford University Library) to prepare for  this discussion. In addition, you will watch “The Economic Effect on Baby Boomers’ Caring for Aging Parents’” and “Caring for Aging Parents.”
In “Demography of Aging in China and the United States and the Economic Well-Being of Their Older Populations,” you are introduced to the roles of the family and government in the East as well as in the West.
Describe the differences and similarities you learned about in terms of the views on social responsibility when caring for a rapidly increasing older population. What are the reasons for these differences between the treatment of the aged in the West as compared to those in the East? Are those reasons more cultural or practical? Explain your answer.
When looking at the role of family as a support system for the aging in later life, is there a social responsibility in the United States for family members to absorb some of the needs of their aging family members? Why or why not?
Your initial post should be at least 250 words in length. Support your claims with examples from the required material(s) and/or other scholarly resources, and properly cite any references.

Being Aware of Work Duties and Responsibilities Discussion Response

Response to the following: People working in any organization should be aware of their duties and responsibilities in order to lessen the margins for errors and risks in the organization. The disturbing of tasks encourages employees to recognize and facilitate core organizational functions. Main risk management responsibilities for the risk manager:• Develop the risk management policy and keep it up to date• Facilitate a risk-aware culture within the organization• Establish internal risk policies and structures• Co-ordinate the risk management activities• Compile risk information and prepare reports for the boardThere is a need to ensure that the administration receives sufficiently broad support from all the stakeholders. It will usually be a board member who sponsors risk management awareness at the board and presents risk management reports to it. Regularly, the risk manager will report to that board member. The risk manager determines how to manage the prioritized risks by using risk management strategies. So the next task is to develop a written plan which outlines what steps should be taken to manage major risks and allow the organization to carry out the business with the minimal chances of failure. The plan should describe a proposed strategy or combination of such policies being implemented into the project. All the procedures are usually executed with the help of a risk management solution team. The four basic risk management strategies that every manger should consider in the plan are;“Avoidance”  Strategy. Focus on ways to avoid or cease risks to provide a service or conduct an activity considered too risky.“Modification” Strategy. Focus on changing and modifying the project’s activities so that the possibility of a threat happening and the result of potential harm can be taken within acceptable limits.“Retention” Strategy. evaluating the success of the plan of the identified risks and gets prepared for the consequences.“Sharing”  Strategy. A risk management application’s functionality for user collaboration and online communication, the risk management team, can consider sharing the identified risks with another group or organization. Examples of risk sharing strategy include mutual procurement agreements with other performing companies. However, Sometimes these strategies and plans would be difficult to deploy or implement for different reasons; such as; Some managers would not have the full authorization from the firm or the organization’s board to implement such a significant strategy, outside risks that weren’t identified or expected that might cause harm to the organization. And the miscommunication between different departments or the risk manager.
