Natalie was growing concerned about her daughter Brandi’s school performance. Her grades had dropped since the beginning of the school year, and she seemed reluctant to go to school. On some days, she complained of vague symptoms, such as stomachache or headache. On other days, she simply did not get out of bed. Natalie took her to the doctor, but there was no definitive diagnosis. She questioned Brandi about any problems at school, but Brandi was uncommonly quiet. Natalie then looked at Brandi’s Facebook page and saw a series of comments from Brandi’s friends about a school bully. When Natalie confronted Brandi, the child broke down crying and told the whole story. Another girl, who was two years ahead of her in school, was bullying her. She would tease Brandi in school, leave nasty messages on her Facebook page, and even threatened her on several occasions.
Natalie was furious and immediately arranged a meeting with the teacher and school principal. The school officials attempted to address the problem by speaking to the girl and her parents. The parents placed their daughter in treatment; she was diagnosed with a behavior disorder and put on medication, which seemed to work. Both the girl’s parents and the school officials explained to Natalie that the girl had an underlying medical condition that caused her to become angry and lack impulse control. The school officials were reluctant to suspend the girl because it was “not her fault” but rather a “biological factor” causing the behavior.
Natalie was still upset. She did not understand why her own daughter should suffer. She had a nagging suspicion that the bully’s parents were using the biological cause as an excuse for their daughter’s bad behavior.

One type of clause that can be included in a contract is known as a limitation of liability clause. This type of clause places a cap on the amount of money that must be compensated to another party when that party suffers a loss as a direct result of an existing agreement between the parties. If it is determined that this clause does not violate any norms of decency, then it will not be enforceable. The Unfair Contracts Terms Act (UCTA) is responsible for the creation of the reasonable test, which was implemented as a safeguard against the utilization of limiting liability clauses. The test proposes that the mentality of a reasonable person should be utilized in order to decide whether or not a legal issue can be considered reasonable. As a result, the act determines whether or not the provisions of the article are equitable to the party that has been wronged. In this particular instance, ADT was responsible for doing routine maintenance on the sprinkler and the alarm system that were installed to safeguard the building from the risk of fire. Melodee’s belongings were harmed as a result of a malfunction in the building’s alarm system, which in turn led to faulty control systems that allowed water to be discharged inside the structure. Reasonable, ADT committed an act of gross negligence since if they had maintained the alarm systems as needed, they would have seen that they were defective but instead, they failed to do so and missed the warning. Due to the fact that Melodee is merely a tenant, there was no way for her to determine whether or not the alarm systems were functioning properly in order for her to alert ADT. Because of this, it is not right that ADT should cover culpability for only 10 percent of the total when their negligence was the cause of the harm. Because of this, the provision in question cannot be considered reasonable, and hence, the limitation cannot be considered legal.

1) Avoid stimulants
 – Nicotine, alcohol, caffeine and refined sugar products are all stimulants, so using them when stressed will only prolong your state of stress. Instead, keep yourself well hydrated by drinking water or herbal teas.

 – Bad sleep is both a cause and symptom of stress. Allow your body and mind to relax before bed by creating a wind-down routine. Prepare for a good night’s sleep by removing all stimulants and do something relaxing!
3) Listen to your body
 – Your body will tell you what it needs; it is important you tune in and listen. If you feel tired, hungry or thirsty, do something about it.
4) Learn to say ‘NO’
 – Simple but effective. Negotiate a mutually agreeable outcome and when ‘no’ is the appropriate response, say it without guilt.
5) Take 5
 – Take a break and calm down with a walk, flick through a magazine or listen to some music. Don’t continue with something if it’s driving you crazy, leave it for half hour and come back to it later with a fresh perspective.
6) Exercise your breathing

Slowly inhale through your nose, counting to five
Let the air out through your mouth, counting to eight

Hughes-Cromwick and Coronado’s (2019) article discusses the importance of economic data in shaping business decisions. The study highlights that access to reliable and up-to-date economic data is crucial for businesses to make informed choices, understand market trends, assess risks, and identify opportunities (Hughes-Cromwick & Coronado, 2019). The article also explores how economic data can aid in strategic planning, investment decisions, and resource allocation. By utilizing economic indicators and forecasts, businesses can better adapt to changing economic conditions and mitigate potential adverse impacts. Highlighted is that economic data provides valuable insights for policymakers, as it helps them design effective economic policies and foster a conducive business environment.
Current Trends
Current research on economic data has focused on both the business perspective to improve business actives. Gottfried et al. (2021) found that using text mining of open government data (OGD) can increase business intelligence. Business intelligence involves using internal and external sources to collect, analyze, and process information through software and fact-based systems to assist in decision making and strategy formulation with the end goal of a competitive advantage. Specifically, Gottfried et al. (2021) demonstrated through text mining across industries increases knowledge of resource availability for production and market opportunities. Guan et al. (2022) highlighted the urgency the State Council of the Communist Party of China Central Committee stressing the importance of data production factor (DPF) in convicting industry, business models, and digital economy. Like Gottfried et al. (2021), Guan et al. (2022) utilized text mining to show that using open data resulted in a significant improvement in earnings per share. Where Guan et al. (2022) examined support by China in the use of open data, Huber et al.’s (2022) research found that countries that do not maintain an understanding of the implementation of rules supporting open data, contractual relationships and market exchanges did not see the same benefits of open data on entrepreneurship.
Current research on open data usage has also been conducted from the viewpoint of the consumer. Jones and Tonetti (2020) examined economic data in terms of property rights, who should own or regulate the data for its use, and the implications that may come to light. The study showed that while regulations can protect consumer privacy, it also limits the amount of data shared. Limiting data available can negatively impact in that data used can help diagnostics and lifesaving procedures (Jones & Tonetti, 2020). Jones and Tonetti (2020) also researched the idea of firms owning data which ultimately leads to the creation of barriers to entry in the market. Finally, Jones and Tonetti (2020) revealed that consumer choice of what data is collected and shared acts as a balancing mediator for data concerns in terms of consumer privacy and access to open data. Lee et al. (2023) proposed utilizing economic data of grocery shopping habits and trends as a way assess consumer creditworthiness to provide alternative lending options to low-income consumers. The study utilized tradition creditworthiness assessment and grocery data as a comparison (Lee et al., 2023). Lee et al. (2023) found that traditional means of assessment predicted lower-income consumers to be risker credit users while grocery data showed that lower-income consumers were less risky than higher-income consumers.
Future Research
Future research opportunities are suggested by Gottfried et al. (2021) to advance open-source intelligence through studying different types of techniques and integrating more dynamic data sources and combining topic models for predictive marketing models. Future research should also examine how sub-types of institutional quality affects specific entrepreneurial outcomes through the empirical study of country-level characteristics with experimental methodology (Huber et al., 2022) when using open data. Future studies are also recommended on open government data among different countries and their likelihood to use OGD (Gottfried et al., 2021; Guan et al., 2022).  Guan et al. (2022) suggests that their research be expanded to consider other performance measurements than earnings per share to further capture the benefits of using DPFs. Jones and Tonetti (2020) suggest that researchers examine the quantity of data available for use in various industries in terms of productivity advantage and the implications of consumer limited data. While generating possible alternative credit and leading determinants of creditworthiness, Lee et al. (2023) recommends research be conducted to evaluate the ethical decision making behind using grocery data as an approval to creditworthiness.

You have been hired by the Board of Directors of RollinOn, Inc as the new IT Security Manager. RollinOn is a designer of premade and custom designed skates and skateboards.  RollinOn has had some extreme growth in the area of e-Commerce over the past couple of years due to the addition of their custom design tools on their website. However, RollinOn has had some internal security issues.  RollinOn hs had some very lax policies allowing employees to bring their own tablets and laptops, also known as bring your own device or BYOD, and access social media on the intranet. The Web application development team has increased in size and is also in need of sound security practices. There have been several instances of downloaded malware and the company website has been hacked on at least one (1) occasion.
Your main objective is to create an outline of a new IT security policy regarding the company’s web presence and lack of access control. Note: You may create and / or make all necessary assumptions needed for the completion of this assignment.

Briefly explain the current state of Web application security to the Board of Directors.
