Report on an article that investigates the relationship between food and cancer. It must come from a peer reviewed journal and not a social media site. Give a brief summary of the research and its findings. Also, what was your opinion of the research?
Emmi has been under a lot of stress and is concerned about her overall health. She works nights at a local restaurant and takes a full course load during the day at a local community college. At lunch today, her friend Jessi suggested that she take Nutrimega supplements to help prevent colds, flu, and other illnesses and reduce her stress. Jessi said that she has been taking Nutrimega for several months and feels great.
Emmi was a little surprised to learn that a month’s supply of Nutrimega cost about $50.00, but she decided to buy the supplements, anyway. The Nutrimega label recommends taking 2 or 3 tablets daily for health maintenance and 2-3 tablets every 3 hours at the first sign of illness. When Emmi read the label on the bottle, she noted that each tablet contained the following nutrients (listed as % daily value): 33% Vitamin A (75% as preformed Vitamin A), 700% Vitamin C, 50% Zinc, and 10% Selenium.
If you were Emmi’s dietitian, health clinician, or nutritionist, would you recommend that Emmi use this product?
Are there any health risks associated with its use, considering the dosed recommended on the label for maintenance and illness and if so, what are they?
What alternative suggestions would give Emmi to help her maintain her overall health?

How to Boost Your Personal Productivity
Winning at Work: How to Boost Your Personal Productivity
The first step in increasing your productivity is to know how you spend your time. You should invest two or three days to track your time and the way you spend it. Ideally, you should pause every hour or two and tabulate how much time you’ve spent on particular tasks. Identify the activities that consume the greatest amounts of your time. You may be surprised by the percentage of your time that is unrelated to school and/or work. Next is to only touch things once. You need to decide the first time you touch it, that is open an email or listen to a voice mail, that you are either going to take action now, delegate it, or delete it. You should set specific times in the day when you’ll check and tend to emails, texts, and voice mails. By turning off notifications, you can wait to respond to your messages to when it is your set time for these types of tasks. You will want to take regular breaks. Plan your work in 90-minute intervals and then recharge with a walk, music, or a brief chat to improve your concentration and boost productivity. Finally, see if some of the time you currently spend playing video games or connecting on social media can be reallocated to work activities. If you have time that you can use more productivity, save your social media or gaming time to set times of the day.
Discussion Questions/Topics:
- Do you work better in the morning or at night? How can you best structure your time to take advantage of the hours when you are most productive?
- What type of break helps you maintain productivity? Do you prefer time being alone or with others when you take a productivity break?
- How does background noise impact your productivity? Would you rather work in a busy office or coffee shop or in a quiet place away from others?

The police in Russia is largely separated into two distinctive branches historically referred to as MOB – the public safety police with the task to maintain civic order and KM or criminal police. Trust in the police in Russia is substantially lower than in Western European countries such as Germany. Many people in Russia have had bad experiences with the police and are reluctant to call for help when becoming victims of a crime. Corruption is widely believed to be significant among Russian law enforcement officers. According to a 2005 study, almost 60% of surveyed police officers had additional jobs to supplement their income. The Russian state does not monitor the private business activities of its law enforcement officers. In comparison, 20–90% of police officers in the cities of the United States conduct personal business but have to report their activities to the police authorities.
Discuss the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the establishment of the Russian Federation impact on the country.
The dissolution of the Soviet Union and the establishment of the Russian Federation have obviously had a profound impact on the country. Since 1991, every event in Russia has served as an illustration of the leadership’s attempt to transform the old order into a new order. For the most part, the leadership and people of the Russian Federation are grappling with two central features of the democratization process. One is the establishment of a market economy, which is having a striking impact on all people throughout the country. The other key feature is recognition of the importance of government by rule of law. It is this feature that is having such a profound impact on the country’s criminal justice system.
