Qualitative and quantitative research both provide essential information in nursing and evidence-based practice.Discuss.
Qualitative and quantitative research both provide essential information in nursing and evidence-based practice. Quantitative research is scientific, objective, and expressed in numbers, while qualitative is more subjective and descriptive. Qualitative research describes how patients feel and what is observed. Qualitative research provides a form of “truth” and proof that answers certain questions (Mateo, 2013). Observing patients and understanding how they are feeling and what they are experiencing is very important to apply to evidence-based practice. For example, evidence-based medications and treatment may be declined by a patient. Instead of listing the patient as non-compliant, qualitative research can enlighten physicians as to why they are not taking their medications. Suppose the medication is making them sick or makes them unable to function at an acceptable level. Qualitative research may show patients taking “x” medication have these reactions based on the studies. Therefore, the medication regimen can be changed or addressed differently. There are important pieces of data to be collected through qualitative research. This type of research answers the questions unable to be represented by statistics, measurements, or numbers.

Introduction for example 200 words
Map-scope the study – set the boundary of the study, define what you understand by emerging markets and developed economies (don’t forget to reference). The idea of this introduction is two-fold: being able to signpost what you are going to discuss and providing a background of emerging markets in the context of the question.

Alternatively, you may structure your main body around two sub-sections: (1) Key features; (2) Implications for multinationals.

colleagues Existential Questions and Post-Traumatic Growth
Respond to two colleagues:
Provide a suggestion for how a social worker could help clients to understand and make meaning of the trauma within the client’s values and belief framework.
Colleagues 1
An existential question is a philosophical question we ask in social work when working with a client who has experienced some sort of trauma. For my selected client, I am working with a youth who is struggling with mental health. These individual lacks family support, has abused substances in the past, and is facing juvenile related charges while on probation. This individual has reported feeling “lost” in life and is not motivated to do well. As a child, this individual experience various forms of abuse, physical, emotional, and sexual.
An existential question I would use to better support and understand this client is what are some purposes right now in your life? With this client struggling with ongoing mental health concerns, this existential question will allow the client to look at the positive values in life and can also allow the client to establish goals that will make the client successful.
I believe with working with this selected individual, there is a great potential for growth to overcome this trauma. This client is engaged in mental health counseling sessions. I have been very fortunate enough to establish great rapport with this client and have assisted this client with many activities to empower the client and to make them more successful while in treatment. This client has been extremely resilient in life and has faced many barriers and challenges on their own. With the support from the client’s clinician and case manager, the client has additional supports in place when overcoming any presenting problems.
As a social worker, I believe I have more potential growth to experience throughout duration of my career. In my career, I do believe I am able to build professional rapport with the clients and families I am working with. I believe conducting more research on diverse population on how to better assist my families would benefit my overall practice.
