(long-term english language learners) 200 word (this not an essay,
Chapter 1 of our text defines long-term English learners (LTELs) as learners who have been enrolled for more than six years and are not making substantial academic progress (Piper, 2015). Using information introduced in Chapter 1 and the Menken and Kleyn (2009) article, The Difficult Road for Long-Term English Learners, address the following:
Describe the characteristics of an LTEL.
Provide suggestions on how teachers can address the challenges of LTELs to move them to a proficient level of English learning.
Share your opinion on how much accountability should be placed on administrators, teachers, students, and parents respectively.
Refer to and properly cite the sources from which you are basing your position.
As you learn more about English language learners, youll discover one particular sub-group which provides its own unique challenges: long termers. Many were actually born in the United States, but are still in program. Why is this so? What can teachers do about these students? What affect does this status have on these ELLs? One dismal statistic that has emerged from examining the characteristics of LTELs in New York City schools found that the average grade for this group of students was 69.20 percent. This type of feedback begins to slowly wear away at a students motivation and desire to learn (Syrja, 2011, p.17). Have you heard of effort optimism? Feel free to discuss in a reply to these tips!
Here is the scoring rubric for this discussion posting:

Assurance for Teamwork Essay Response
I want a reply post to the below essay in 200 words using apa format and journal articles:The guarantee for the team members to accomplish the target task is to complement each other and give full play to each person’s specialty to make it synergistic. This is the spirit of collaboration, which is the essence of teamwork. Set up different positions, select different talents, give different treatments, cultivate and affirm, let each member be able to express their strengths, and then gather all the specialties together. The goal of the team is based on clear project objectives, so the team manager must clearly outline the overall project objectives, project scope, work breakdown structure, schedule, etc. in the work plan. And because team members have their own personal goals when joining the team or project, the team manager should fully consider the factors of personal goals when formulating the project’s sub-goals. If team members’ personal goals are organically combined with the project goal, in the future the team members can get great support during work. In the process of designing the team, factors such as corporate and personnel need to be considered. The Personnel factor, for example, respects the individual’s hobbies and specialties. It is important to form and train team members. The success of a task is closely related to the quality of the team members. Put the right people in the right place, give full play to the strengths of the project team members, and then bring their results together to achieve the team’s work goals. But sometimes, it is not necessary to choose people with the same style to be paired into groups. Working with different styles of staff often helps to complement each other, inspire and create better collaboration benefits.A smooth communication channel is needed. Without the establishment of a good communication channel, it will hinder the communication between team members, and it is impossible to create a good collaborative team. Therefore, team managers must ensure that a complete communication network is established as early as possible, and effective two-way communication in the communication channel enhances understanding and friendship among members and fosters the spirit of teamwork. The establishment of Team-based reward and recognition structure adopted by corporation has greatly promoted the enthusiasm of team members and the strengthening of teamwork. In addition, team managers must distinguish between individual incentives and team incentives. Personal incentives must be fair, otherwise it will affect collaboration among project members. Team motivation can boost morale and promote team building.Part 2?When we feel attached to certain group, it is because in this group, we have a sense of belonging, we can feel the atmosphere of the home in the team, even if this home is not perfect. The deeper sense of identity always comes from the fact that everyone in the group can contribute to the same goal. Everyone participates in the team building and development, and everyone adds their strength to the team’s achievements.
ED 535 CU Debunking Myths Discussion
Complete the following assignment using the information in this weeks readings in the text, one of the article choices in the required studies, and two articles from Debunking Brain Myths (Carey, n.d.).Support your statements with evidence from the required studies and your research. Cite and reference your sources in APA style.Click here for information on course rubrics.Carey, G. (n.d.). Debunking brain myths. Retrieved from Microsoft. (n.d.). Compress your media files. Retrieved from Problem solving and critical thinking, these buzz words, regularly used in educational circles, refer to particular learning skills and outcomes educators would like to see in their students. A Google search of the phrase critical thinking draws 28 million results in less than one second. In the same amount of time, problem solving generates nearly 72 million results. While neither of these would be considered effective web searches for research purposes, the number of mentions of these terms helps to see the prevalence of these ideas in society. In the course text, Carey (2014) looks closely at these two phrases to help determine how they influence learning experiences. The challenge for you this week is to begin to consider how the two concepts problem solving and critical thinking are or are not effectively translated to the current context of education and the work going on in schools daily.Carey (2014) also discusses the importantand often unnoticedwork done through perceptual discrimination. Ones senses are alive with information and are constantly processing the world around him or her to help make conscious (and subconscious) decisions about ones next move or action. Research shows that ones skills at perceptual discrimination are refined from an early age, and individuals are constantly becoming more skilled at effectively identifying and responding to the most relevant environmental inputs (Scott, Pascalis, Nelson, 2007). How this work affects learning is one of the areas you will consider this week. However, one of the realities of the research being done in the areas of cognitive and neuroscience is that ideas are often taken out of context or purpose. Great ideas are generated from research, but understanding why these ideas work in these ways is not always clear or accurate. One challenge as a teacher is to be continually aware of the impact of current research on the brain and its effect on classroom practice. This week, you will have the opportunity to explore some of these challenges and consider what is known about classroom practices. Are they research based?Carey, B. (2014). How we learn: The surprising truth about when, where, and why it happens. New York: Random House.Scott, L. S., Pascalis, O., Nelson, C. A. (2007). Post 5#4 | Nursing homework help
Hello i need a good comment related with this argument .A paragraph with no more 300 words.
Mrs. Jones, a widow, is no longer able to live independently and is requiring more and more help with her self-care. Her daughter, Susie, who is married with three school-aged children, agrees to let her mother move in with her. Susie is concerned with balancing the demands of her career and the needs of her family, especially now that her elderly and chronically ill mother will need assistance. She is also unsure about how she feels with the reversal of roles, having to now be the primary caregiver of her mother. How can the nurse, caring for this family, assist with the changes they are about to undergo? How can both the family structural theory and the family developmental theory is applied to this scenario? How can health education enhance health promotion for this family?
This situation for Mrs. Jones and Susie and her family is stressful. The nurse first need to do a family assessment, that way the nurse can better assist Mrs. Jones family situation. Susie and her family may think taking care of her mother will be a burden, and Mrs. Jones may feel like she is losing self -stability and independence having to rely on her daughter and family. With the right support group and resources it could turn out to be a positive situation. The nurse can also get case management involved to make thing go much smoother. For example, if case management was involved, then a nurse could come to the house to take care of Mrs. Jones while Susie works and raises a family.
The nurse needs to be aware that there can be risk factors that the family may experience that can set up the family up for dysfunctional health patterns (Edleman Mandle, 2010). The risk factors can be: stress, anxiety, and pressure at work or home. The nurse needs to assess for these risk factors to help prevent a possible family dysfunction. The nurse also needs to educate the family on resources, communication and coping mechanisms, and the nurse also needs to educate Mrs. Jones because this takes a toll on a family and as well as the patients. Mrs. Jones may need help with coping with losing her independence. In these tough situations nurses need to show support, and good communication to help the family reach a functional situation.
