Technology and online communities presentation soc 105
Imagine you have a foreign-exchange student visiting from a rural area where there is no Internet service. He has noticed and heard a lot about social networking and online communities but does not understand what they are. You want to explain to him the role of the Internet and social media in popular American culture.
Create a multimedia presentation (8-12 slides) that depicts the use of social media and the Internet in popular American culture.
Address the following in your presentation:
· What is the importance of social media in todays society? How is it used and by whom? What would be the effect on society if social media were suddenly removed?
· What do online communities mean for popular culture today? How has this changed over the past 10 years? In what ways are online communities accessed and expanded?
· What role does the internet and social media play in globalization and the expansion of communities?
Select a multimedia presentation tool. Examples of multimedia presentation tools include the following:
· Voki™ speaking avatars
· Microsoft® PowerPoint®
· Prezi™ presentations
· VoiceThread™ collaborative multimedia slide shows
· Digital Storytellersm movies
· Glogster™ interactive posters
· Websites
Present your activity using your chosen multimedia tool.

Stakeholders Questions
PAPER DIRECTIONS:Step 1: Pick one scenario below for the focus of this paper.Step 2: Once your selection has been made, reach a conclusion about whether the employee or the employer has the stronger ethical position. In your writing, consider the following:What are the key facts relevant to your response? What are the ethical issues involved in this particular scenario?Who are the stakeholders? What alternatives might exist for the employee or for the employer that might otherwise resolve the conflict presented, if any?Is there any other way, for instance, to gather information about employees, to protect employees from a particular harm, or to protect employers from a cost that concerns them? How do the alternatives compare, and how do the alternatives affect the stakeholders?PAPER SCENARIO SELECTIONS:An employee is fired when a mandatory urinalysis test detects nicotine in her urine. Her company prohibits smoking by all employees. The company argues that increasing health care costs due to smoking justifies the action. An employee is fired when her employer learns that she has had an abortion. The employer is a strong antiabortion, prolife advocate who believes that abortion is equivalent to murder. An employee is denied health care coverage offered to all other employees when his employer switches health care providers to one that requires a medical examination before offering coverage. The employee is diagnosed as HIV positive during the examination. Rising health care costs under the previous provider, attributed to a large extent to costs associated with this employee, were the reason for the switch in providers.
CU Comparing Changes in Gravitational Potential Energy Questions
I’m working on a physics discussion question and need the explanation and answer to help me learn. A place kicker is preparing to kick a football from ground level. Football A is kicked such that the angle of the kick is slightly above the horizontal. The place kicker then proceeds to kick another football of the same mass with the same initial speed, but this time the angle for the kick for Football B is slightly below vertical. For your initial posting, respond to the following:Compare the initial kinetic energy for each of Football A and Football B. If the kinetic energies are different explain why you believe this is the case and explain which kick will have the greater initial kinetic energy. If the kinetic energies are the same, explain why you believe this is the case.Compare the change in gravitational potential energy from the ground to the highest point for each of Football A and Football B. Explain your rationale as to why you believe the change in potential gravitational energy is either the same or different for Football A versus Football B. If you believe the change in gravitational potential energy is different, then comment on which football exhibits the larger change in change in gravitational potential energy.
Physics Newtons Laws of Motion Essay
Imagine you are a computer technician and you are being dispatched to a customer location to make a critical computer repair. For this repair you will swap out a defective module with a replacement module in a computer system. For this defective module, there is a handle that you will pull and this will eject the module from the computer. Then you will insert and push in a replacement module to complete the repair. In order to complete this repair, consider the following steps that need to be taken. You will board an airplane that accelerates down a runway during takeoff. At the end of the runway the airplane will leave the ground and fly to your destination.Once the plane reaches the destination airport, the plane will land on the runway and decelerate to a stop. You will use a rental car to drive to the customer location. This will require you to use an entrance ramp and exit ramp on a highway.Once at the customer location you will remove the defective module. Then you will insert the replacement module to complete the repair. For each of these steps listed above, use Newtons three laws of motion to explain which law of motion is used and explain in detail any associated forces, masses, accelerations, etc. Note that this will be a general description of the application of Newtons laws without any specific numerical values. Some steps may involve more than one of Newtons laws of motion. Use free-body diagrams as needed to help with your explanations.

There are different types of assistive hearing devices which can be used in the classroom. Student with sensorineural hearing loss receive the most benefit from personal frequency modulation systems. With the use of FM systems students are able to hear the teachers voice at an appropriate and constant intensity level regardless of the distance (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, n.d.). Even background noise would not affect the students hearing ability. In addition, the student would be able to monitor his or her own voice with the help of hearing aid microphone. Wherever possible, it would be best for students with the disabilities using adaptive equipment to introduce and explain the aids and devices they use themselves. They can show their classmates the devices and allow them to touch and experiment with the equipment. For example, a student with a hearing impairment could explain the parts and maintenance of the hearing aid, and then invite other students to use a hearing aid briefly.
When it comes to visually impaired students, there are Braille materials as well as portable note takers. These are small devices that may be used by a student to take notes in class using either a braille (featuring six large keys that correspond to the 6 dots in the braille cell), standard (QWERTY) keyboard, or both (Teaching students with visual impairments, n.d.). These allow students to read and write, record lectures and listen to podcasts.
