The Constitution is not a perfect document, hence the amendments. What sort of amendments would you propose?

The Constitution is not a perfect document, hence the amendments. What sort of amendments would you propose? There is no constitutional right to vote. Would this be a good amendment? Would it let criminals vote? Should criminals be allowed to vote? Take into account the demographics and the way the justice system is skewed. Do amendments really protect us from the government and each other or is it just an illusion? Think the right to privacy and the debate about the NSA. Please feel free to discuss your own ideas about if and/or how we should amend the constitution.

Discuss how the biases and assumptions of correctional service providers influence their assessment of and interaction with these offenders.

This week’s reading assignments include chapters relating to the provision of psychological treatments in correctional settings. Chapter 12 discusses the findings of Boothby & Clements (2000) survey of psychologists working in state and federal correctional facilities across the U.S. Increasingly, the prison populations reflect a high number of inmates suffering from identified mental illnesses. This presents issues for corrections personnel who are responsible for the safety of prisoners as well as the safety of staff. The goals of the correctional psychological service providers may not be consistent with the overall goals of the institution. The mental health status of offenders impacts staffing considerations, both in number and in skills, of incarceration facilities. Large populations of inmates with mental health issues can impact the stress levels of staff, which can influence their job performance as well as their interpersonal relationships.Address the following points in your paperDiscuss the impacts of the psychological make–up of offenders has on the functional responsibilities of incarceration facilities.Discuss how the biases and assumptions of correctional service providers influence their assessment of and interaction with these offenders.Explain your findings within the continuing context of the endogenous and exogenous theories of criminal behavior and the analysis of how our biases and assumptions influence our assessments of individuals.Correlate your findings to the cultural-based behavior patterns specific to segments of the population with an evaluation of the potential impact and intervention strategies utilized to reduce the impact of stress on law enforcement personnel. The Psychological Treatment in Correctional Settings paperMust be three to four double-spaced pages in length (not including title and references pages) and formatted according to APA styleMust include a separate title page with the followingMust use at least three scholarly sources in addition to the course text.Must document all sources in APA style.Must include a separate references page that is formatted according to APA style

what is one thing the strategic managers of this firm should have or could have done differently to help move the company forward.

Corporate strategy addresses “where to compete” and business strategy addresses “how to compete” (Rothaermel, 2021, p. 313). Choose one business in chapters 7 and 8 and describe one aspect of this business where you see a failure of management. In other words, what is one thing the strategic managers of this firm should have or could have done differently to help move the company forward. Be sure and include in your discussion how this firm addresses “where” to compete and how this firm addresses “how” to compete. Is there a failure in the “where” to compete or is there a failure in ‘how” to compete? Analyze that failure and offer a solution that you as the strategic manager would have implemented. This case may be based on your opinion. However, you must back up your opinion with sound research and fact.

How does one ensure one’s self-interest when one has to compromise with another to achieve the goal?

We learned in earlier discussions that according to Aristotle and Bentham, one’s happiness was the highest goal. Enter social contract. How does one ensure one’s self-interest when one has to compromise with another to achieve the goal? David Gauthier proposes that it is possible, offering the Prisoner’s Dilemma as an example. According to the story of the Prisoner’s Dilemma, two people have been brought in for questioning, conducted separately, about a crime they are suspected to have committed. The police have solid evidence of a lesser crime that they committed, but need confessions in order to convict them on more serious charges. Each prisoner is told that if she cooperates with the police by informing on the other prisoner, then she will be rewarded by receiving a relatively light sentence of one year in prison, whereas her cohort will go to prison for ten years. If they both remain silent, then there will be no such rewards, and they can each expect to receive moderate sentences of two years. And if they both cooperate with police by informing on each other, then the police will have enough to send each to prison for five years. The dilemma then is this: in order to serve her own interests as well as possible, each prisoner reasons that no matter what the other does she is better off cooperating with the police by confessing. Each reasons: “If she confesses, then I should confess, thereby being sentenced to five years instead of ten. And if she does not confess, then I should confess, thereby being sentenced to one year instead of two. So, no matter what she does, I should confess.” The problem is that when each reasons this way, they each confess, and each goes to prison for five years. However, had they each remained silent, thereby cooperating with each other rather than with the police, they would have spent only two years in prison. It will take you to the Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy. The link takes you to the beginning of a great article on social contract. The outline at the beginning shows that the discussion on Gauthier and the Prisoner’s Dilemma is in the middle of the article, in the “More Recent Theories” section, following Rawls. Gauthier comments on the idea that the Prisoner’s Dilemma shows that it is in an individual’s best interest to cooperate, even when it means that they will give up some individual freedom.) Assignment Requirements: Write a 3-page (650-750 word) paper addressing the following questions: Consider the concepts of utilitarianism, egoism, and social contract. What moral theory—utilitarianism, egoism, or social contract—is consistent with cooperating with the other prisoner and rejecting self-interest as the best option? What is the recommended course of action for each prisoner in regard to the other two theories? From your experience, is cooperation always in your best interest? Share an example. Alternatively, to state it negatively, why do selfish, self-centered people seem to prosper if cooperation is always in their best interest?Post the 3-page (650-750 words) paper.
