Marry You by Bruno Mars Discussion

Theme song Many of the issues that sociologists focus on exert a powerful influence over people?s lives and experiences. Because of this many sociological issues are reflected in pop culture, from movies and tv to novels to music. For this writing assignment you will identify a song (with lyrics) that relates to one or more of the concepts or ideas that we have covered in this class and develop a thesis that explains the song?s perspective on social life by analyzing its meaning, resonance, lyrics, sound, history, and/or relevant parts of the biography of its creator/s (you don?t have to focus on all of those things; they are just some of the things you could focus on).The three closely related questions that this essay should answer are: What is the point that the song makes about an aspect of social life that we have touched on in class ? How does it make that point? And what evidence from the song can you identify that tells us why the artist/s responsible for the song thought that this was a point worth making? This essay, then, involves a combination of sociological analysis (to identify appropriate concepts, social structures, data about society, etc.) and literary analysis (to analyze how the song relates to the sociological material). While it necessarily involves a creative interpretive effort on your part, it is important to make sure that your analysis is closely tied to some of the material that we have been talking about in class. For example, if my essay is on Green Day?s ?Longview? I want to make sure that there is a tight connection between the song, its themes, and an area we have covered in class. My focus for this song, for instance, could be on social networks (the song is about isolation and loneliness), culture (it is also about the compulsive watching of stupid tv), family, and sex. So, I would focus on how the song weaves those themes together, how they relate to ideas about those themes that we talked about in class or that are covered in the textbook or other readings. I might also talk about early 90s pop-punk and the efforts by Green Day and others in the genre to come up with a formula for watering down the musical style and anger of punk enough to make it marketable. In writing the paper I?d be sure to use lots of quotes from the song and maybe some references to bios of the band or an article where they talk about writing the song, or perhaps I would want to write about the reception of the song (especially relevant if you wrote about something that was either a smash hit or was controversial and were trying to explain why ?the reaction to it gives valuable insight into what the song is really about).

Definition to Negotiation Tactics Discussion

reply post to a discussion board:Discussion Question:What are four important tactical tasks for a negotiator in a distributive situation to consider?XXX’s Post:Distributive Bargaining is a form of strategy used by negotiators who try to gain majority stake from a limited set of resources (Oster, 2019).  According to Kenneth Oster, distributive bargaining strategies can be a valuable way of negotiating if it concerns a single issue and managing relations is not of utmost importance. This methodology seeks to keep maximum value for one side while giving others a part of the deal that would not give them any priority or importance in the deal making process. (Oster, 2019).Part of the process, the four important tactical tasks within a distributive bargaining include the following:1. Goal Strategies:  The act of negotiation is aimed at gaining a competitive advantage over the opponent?s strategy.  As part of a distributive strategy framework, accepting settlements that are favorable towards having an upper hand as part of the negotiations (Lewicki, 2013).  As part of the, ridiculing the opponents strategy and intimidating the opponent is considered a key component of this kind of strategy making.2. Target Strategies: Targeting key components to win the negotiation and argument with the opponents. Having a percentage of acceptance as part of the deal is very important,  for it allows to keep the upper hand as part of the negotiations with competitors who also want a piece of the deal.3. Reservation Strategies: Setting a minimal viable product allows setting on reservation strategies (Oster, 2019).  When a negotiation reaches the reservation strategy, there would be resistance towards the bargaining capability.4. Confusion Strategy: There needs to be level of confusion among the competitors, which could lead to confusion (Lewicki, 2013) , which could be in the form of not taking notes or not showing interest in the deal making process. One of the key and utmost important fact that remains as part of this component is to cause confusion leading to distraction.Reference:Oster, K. (2019). ÿ

The completed report should be betweenÿ1,300ÿandÿ2,000ÿwords,ÿexcluding the reference page.
A minimum of threeÿ(3)ÿsources are required.

A recommendation report suggests a resolution to a problem by providing evidence that the problem exists and that there is a good way to resolve or improve the situation. For this project, you will identify a problem and possible solution, and then create a report that documents this information for a decision-maker. As a recommender, it is not so much your job to tell the reader what to do to provide a balanced assessment of the problem and possible solution. In your report,ÿyou will

Introduce the problem
Identify what is currently being done for or with the problem
Provideÿ“new”ÿinformation about ways to resolve the problem

Your report will include

An executive summary
Introduction
Identification of the problem and an explanation of current policy/practices
Identification of a new technique that could be used to resolve the issue
Research from credible sources that supports this as a good option
Possible drawbacks of the new techniqueÿ
A conclusion and next steps section
At leastÿ3ÿgraphicsÿ(smart art or images)ÿthat explain the problem
APA formatting-ÿcover page,ÿreference page,ÿin-text citations as needed

One way to truly understand if something that you consider to be a problem really is a problem is by surveying others. For this discussion, you will create a list of at least five survey questions about your topic. Before completing your Project 4 you want to ask at least 5 people to complete your survey and document their answers so that you can use your data for your report.
For this discussion, you only need to (1) list your topic, and (2) create the question list and post that for peer review. See the example below.ÿ
In your responses to others, provide feedback about their questions. Things to consider are

Whether the questions are clear
What questions might seem logical but are left out
Which questions seem best to try to find out the real feelings of others about the situation?ÿ

Unit 9 Discussion Forum Discussion Forum (suggested level of effort: 1 hour)The purpose of a discussion forum is for students to engage one another over topics related to the course material.  An initial post by each student “sets the table” for follow-on responses by other students.  In a graduate-level academic setting, the initial post is more than describing opinion by the student.  Rather, it is opinion supported by published literature or other references (e.g., refereed journals, textbooks, and especially the PMBOK).  The response post can be less formal but no less thoughtful in content.Discussion Topic:  Timing Issues related to Resourcing ProjectsInitial Post Requirement (20 points):  Minimum 300 words.Review Section 9-3c, CPM 4e.  For the Suburban Homes Construction Project or the Casa De Paz Development Project, describe a timing issue that could occur early in a project and a timing issue that could occur at the end of a project.  Then, discuss how you would address each of these issues.Response Post Requirement (10 points):  Minimum 150 words.  In the response post, you will provide a counter opinion or alternative point of view, not simply a reaffirmation of the initial discussion post.  The response post can rely entirely on your experience or it can be a combination of your experience supplemented with information learned from the course reading materials and other references. Assessment: You will be assessed on 1) content and 2) completeness (e.g., use of in-text citation of references used for summarizing, paraphrasing and quoting and other writing mechanics) and word count. Guidance:  See the Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL) website for guidance on citations and references.   A copy of the Purdue OWL citation chart is provided in the course home page (Moodle).  Discussion forum content can include a combination of material from literature and your own personal experience.  Do some research and find papers that are associated with the topic of the question.  It is recommended that you use the materials provided in this course and the assigned readings in CPM 4e and the PMBOK 6e for references when appropriate for the question you?ve chosen.  Online blogs are not acceptable references.I have attached those books

Interest Rate, Stock Valuation, Risk and Returns

Part 1: Interest RatesMany managers do not understand the various ways that interest rates can affect business decisions. For example, if your company decided to build a plant with a 30-year life and short-term debt financing (renewed annually), the cost of the plant could skyrocket if interest rates were to return to their previous highs of 12% to 14%. On the other hand, locking into high, long-term rates could be very costly also with a long period when low short-term interest rates were to be available. As you can see, the ability to know your economic environment and its impact on projected interest rates can be crucial to making good financing decisions.Describe two to three macroeconomic factors that influence interest rates in general. Explain the effects of each factor on interest rates. Now think about the industry in which you are employed or one in which you have past experience. To what macroeconomic factors is your industry most sensitive?Describe two contemporary factors that seem to be impacting your industry today, and identify their impacts on the interest rates experienced within your chosen industry.Support your comments with your own experiences, the weekly resources, and/or additional research. Use APA throughout and provide appropriate in-text citations and references. Part 2: Stock Valuation, Risk and ReturnsStock valuationDividend Discount Model Stock ValuationHow to value a company using discounted cash flow (DCF)Stock Valuation and Investment DecisionsThe links above contain information on stock valuation, risk and returns. Please review each one of them. Based on the knowledge gained from the materials presented in the links above, complete the following activities:Present a detailed discussion of what you learned about stock valuation. Provide examples of how your company have used the concepts. Do you believe financing a company’s operation using stock is better than financing with bonds? Why or why not? Support your discussion with a numerical example.Based on the materials presented in the ?Risk and Return? video, present a discussion on why the materials are important in financial decision making. How would you incorporate risk and return in your financing decisions?Requirements:Mininum 2 references for each part, APA format, each part should have min 250 words.

Economics of the global management db unit 1

Description
Graduate Programs Discussion Boards
Discussion Boards (DB) are a key component of online learning. They foster active participation of learners and dialogue with fellow learners and instructors. Graduate-level courses require learners to create original posts to course DBs and to engage in dialogue by responding to posts created by others throughout the course. Original posts and responses should be substantive, and if references are made to the works of others, APA guidelines for in-text citations and references apply.
Minimum Weekly DB Expectations

Post an original and thoughtful Main Post to the DB prompt.
Respond to at least 2 other posts from learners and/or the instructor (Response Posts).
The first contribution (Main Post or Response Post) must be posted before midnight (Central time) on Friday of each week.
Two additional responses are required after Friday of each week.
For DB assignment prompts with a Part One and Part Two, Part One should be addressed in the first week of the unit with a Main Post and minimum of 2 Response Posts, and Part Two should be addressed in the second week of the unit with a Main Post and a minimum of 2 Response Posts.

More on DBs
At the end of each unit, DB participation is assessed based on level of engagement and the quality of the contribution to the discussion. DBs allow learners to learn through sharing ideas and experiences as they relate to course content. Because it is not possible to engage in two-way dialogue after a conversation has ended, no posts to the DB are accepted after the end of the unit. Learners must demonstrate an appropriate depth of understanding of course content to receive credit for having submitted substantive posts. Typically, this is achieved with 3?4 strong paragraphs for Main Posts and 2?3 strong paragraphs for Response Posts.
Examination of Course Objectives
Review the Course Objectives, accessed by clicking on the Syllabus link in the left navigation menu beneath the course code. If closed, the left-hand navigation menu can be accessed by clicking on the upper-left corner navigation menu.
How will accomplishing these objectives support your success in management? What risks or challenges might a manager encounter if he or she has not mastered these objectives? Explain.

Warning a Community Discussion

reply to discussion below:Warning a community is probably one of the most important things that could happen before a threat or hazard is about to happen. It is not just about actually warning the community but it is also about what you say in the warning when you say the warning. You need to make sure you give the community enough information so that they can get to safety but not too much information where they are in a panic. The warning is there for the protection of the community and is only there to help, so if the warning causes panic than it is adding more destruction than it is helping before the warning. When disseminating a warning there needs to be enough time for the citizens to get to safety but not too much time where the public begins to believe that the threat is not coming. When I think of warnings there are a few things that come to mind. In the military one of my jobs as a command post controller was to send out ATHOC messages. The messages and warning I sent out were mostly weather notifications of lighting, hail, and winds. Even so, if we did not get those messages out in time before the aircraft would take off it would have been harmful to fly in certain conditions. Thankfully we did not have to send out any messages of attacks or bombs but in exercises that was what we would do and they were specifically timed so that the soldiers could prepare themselves for imminent danger. Another instance that comes to mind is the missile alert in Hawaii last year. This alert was supposed to be a test drill and instead, someone supposedly misunderstood the command and thought it was a real threat so sent out a real-world missile threat. This is a big mistake not only to put a whole state and even country in a panic that we are about to get attacked but the fact that it was not true. This would cause the “crying wolf” aspect as the instructor talked about. The next time an alert goes off and it is a real-world message, how many people will believe it or will they think someone just misheard the instructions.

PGCC Conflict Management Case Study

Shirley and Abdul both work for a software development company. The manager of the new product division was originally the leader of the project team for which she interviewed and hired Abdul. Shirley, another project team member, also interviewed Abdul, but strongly opposed hiring him for the project because she thought he was not competent to do the job.Seven months after Abdul was hired, the manager left the project to start her own company and recommended that Abdul and Shirley serve as joint project leaders. Shirley agreed reluctantly? With the stipulation that it be made clear she was not working for Abdul. The General Manager consented; Shirley and Abdul were to share the project leadership.Within a month Shirley was angry because Abdul was representing himself to others as the leader of the entire project and giving the impression that Shirley was working for him. Now Shirley and Abdul are meeting with you to see if you can resolve the conflict between them.Shirley says: “Right after the joint leadership arrangement was reached with the General Manager, Abdul called a meeting of the project team without even consulting me about the time or content. He just told me when it was being held and said I should be there. At the meeting, Abdul reviewed everyone’s duties line by line, including mine, treating me as just another team member working for him. He sends out letters and signs himself as project director, which obviously implies to others that I am working for him.”Abdul says: “Shirley is all hung up with feelings of power and titles. Just because I sign myself as project director doesn’t mean she is working for me. I don’t see anything to get excited about. What difference does it make? She is too sensitive about everything. I call a meeting and right away she thinks I’m trying to run everything. Shirley has other things to do?other projects to run?so she doesn’t pay too much attention to this one. She mostly lets things slide. But when I take the initiative to set up a meeting, she starts jumping up and down about how I am trying to make her work for me.”Question Regarding This Conflict1. What are the possible ways to deal with the conflict between Abdul and Shirley (not just the ones that you would recommend, but all of the options)?

As aÿcity managerÿfor a mid-size city, you must be able toÿexamine patterns and trends to highlight organizational performance and support organizational strategic planning. One of the ways that is done is through analyzing the statistics. Still, just presenting the numbers is not always the most efficient way to present your analysis.
Scenario
You are a city manager for a mid-size city that is anticipating increases in population and auto traffic as new industries move into the downtown area. Parking spaces are already hard to find and traffic congestion can be problematic from commuters and events like concerts and sports. Before considering adding additional parking, you think it is possible to use existing parking more effectively through a smart parking app that identifies parking space availability in different parking lots throughout the city in real time.ÿ
In this assessment, you will demonstrate your skill inÿinformation visualizationÿwhen you present your recommendations to the City Council members who are responsible for deciding whether the city invests in resources to set in motion the smart parking space app.ÿ
Preparation
Review theÿparking space usageÿfile, see attached.
Select any 2 parking lots. For each one, review the scatter plot showing the occupancy rate at each time stamp during the week of 11/20/2022 ?11/26/2022. Identify whether occupancy rates are time dependent. If so, identify the times that seem to experience the highest occupancy rates.ÿ
Research ?smart cities? to provide guidance and support for your presentation.ÿ
Assessment Deliverable
Create aÿ10- to 12-slide information visualization presentation including voice-over or screencast video. Include the following in your presentation:ÿ

Slide 1 – Title Slide
Slide 2 – Introduction
Slide 3 – Outline the rationale of the project
Slide 4 – Outline the goals of the project
Slide 5 – Analyze the box plot charts showing the occupancy rates for each day of the week and interpret the results ***copy graph to slide***

Unit 2 ip crjs390 | Law homework help

ÿ
You are the Commander of the Patrol Division of a medium-sized metropolitan city.ÿYou have 33 patrols out on the 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. shift.ÿIt is by far the busiest shift for drunk driving, burglaries, domestic calls, and ATM robberies.ÿThe esprit de corps is very high.ÿLately, you have notice that one of the busiest sector units is dropping off in productivity.ÿYou ask around and find out that the partners in that car are a veteran officer, a married man, and a single young female rookie.
The rumor among the rest of the unit is that they are more than just professional partners.ÿLast week, the chief called you into his office and asked about the drop in activity for the club sector of the city, where the patrol unit of concern is working. He got you to admit that there may be an unconfirmed problem.ÿThe chief told you that he wanted to know the complete situation and that you were to formulate a plan for dealing with the male/female patrol situation and then to come up with ideas to keep this pattern from emerging again in the future.ÿThe department currently has no policies about off-duty relationships of partners.
In a report to the chief of police, you will cite the findings of your investigation of the patrol partners concerned.ÿYou will provide at least 2 remedies for the situation so that it is discontinued.ÿYou will consider the lack of a fraternization policy in the department and suggest the minimum requirements of items that should be in a new policy for the department.ÿYou will include and indicate the types of discipline that should be applied to persons violating the new policy in the future.
Assignment Guidelines
