Describe the behaviors that are most important for you to feel trust in the ethical leadership of a supervisor, manager, or company executive?
Read the An improved measure of ethical leadership article by Yukl, Mahsud, Hassan, & Prussia (2013), as well as Chapter 7 of Gonzalez-Padron (2015). Complete the Checklist: Ethical Leadership Questionnaire, then answer these following questions from the text:Describe the behaviors that are most important for you to feel trust in the ethical leadership of a supervisor, manager, or company executive?Describe any descriptors in the list that are difficult to observe?Analyze how ethical leadership can be measured in an organization?Evaluate how personal experience with a leader (e.g., work assignments, disciplinary actions) skew your assessment of his or her ethical leadership? Cite an example based on personal experience.Your response must be a mimimum of 300 words.Guided Response: Review several of your classmates posts and respond to at least two of your peers by 11:59 p.m. on Day 7 of the week. You are encouraged to post your required replies early during the week to promote more meaningful interactive discourse in the discussion. For your response, put yourself in to position of an organizational leader, using the list of behaviors described by your classmate, explain how leadership can emulate these behaviors.Yours responses must be a minimum of 150 words.Edwards Discussion Reply Minimum 150 words: The behaviors that are most relevant to me in order for me to feel trust in regards to ethical leadership consists of a high-quality exchange relationship is more likely to occur for a leader who is honest, trustworthy, fair, and genuinely concerned about the well-being of followers (Erdogan et al., 2006; Wayne et al., 2002, p. 41). A person in upper management who is not afraid to tell the truth because of embarrassment or try to cover up with a lie allows me to do the same as well. When a supervisor gives you the rest of the day off or lets you take a longer lunch after a hard task is a fair supervisor which means he also has a genuine care for the lower level employees. All those characteristics mentioned creates high employee morale where they come to work on time with a good attitude, putting forth effort and being a team player as well.Rewarding ethical behavior seems difficult to observe and do because rewards usually come in the form of compensation and promotion. However, it is easy to observe and see someone getting disciplined for unethical behavior because when someone steals hours, product, or money from a company, they get terminated. These are examples of how ethical leadership can be measured in an organization: Are poor performers ignored, transferred, or promoted? Is performance execution measured or only business results? Are individuals and teams recognized and acknowledged? Do people hide from responsibility? Are problems and conflicts avoided (Turk, 2012, p. 7.3)? On past jobs I have witnessed colleagues who sat around all day while hardly getting any work done while taking excessive breaks and they still were not disciplined. I even got into a conflict with the worker about not doing his share of work because I depended on him to perform his role so that I could do mine effectively. He tried to use his seniority as an excuse and the superintendent did not intervene, which forced me to not take my work serious and not care if it effected the customers satisfaction.ReferencesErdogan, B., Liden, R. C., & Kraimer, M. L. (2006). Justice and leadermember exchange: The moderating role of organizational culture. Academy of Management Journal, 49, 395-406Turk, W. (2012). Be accountable. Defense AT&L, 41(4), 4346.Tiffanys Discussion Reply 150 word minimum Describe the behaviors that are most important for you to feel trust in the ethical leadership of a supervisor, manager, or company executive? The behaviors I believe are most important for me to trust my manager or any company executive are moral, integrity and honesty. A person who has these traits is built for leadership within an organization. I also find it important for the manager to treat the members of the team equally and not show favoritism amongst the members (Gonzalez-Padron, 2015, sect.7.2). Displaying ethical behaviors should come from a top down perspective in the organization. If top management is displaying ethical behaviors then staff will follow what is done by them.Describe any descriptors in the list that are difficult to observe? From the list, I found a few descriptors that are difficult to observe. Its hard to observe if someone is can be trusted enough to tell the truth. I find it hard to observe if someone is keeping their actions consistent with what they value. I also find it difficult to observe if someone is fair and objective when evaluating members based on their performance, because its hard to measure the amount of performance an individual is capable of doing. Lastly I find it difficult to observe if someone is dedicated and shows self-sacrifice for the organization.Analyze how ethical leadership can be measured in an organization?Measuring ethical leadership can be quite a challenge for an organization. According to Yukl, Mahsud, and Hassan (2013), the researchers developed a preliminary questionnaire to measure ethical leadership, and it was used in a study of ethical leadership in top management teams (pg.39). Though questionnaires were used, they often had limitations such as vague wording that was often viewed as positive and negative. According to Yukl, Mahsud, and Hassan (2013), ethical leadership can be measured with honesty, integrity, fairness, altruism, consistency of behaviors with espoused values, communication of ethical values, and providing ethical guidance (pg.43).Evaluate how personal experience with a leader (e.g., work assignments, disciplinary actions) skew your assessment of his or her ethical leadership? Cite an example based on personal experience.I have always viewed my manager as an ethical leader. I work in the IT section of my division and I have access to a lot of sensitive information such as passwords, emails and login information. However from the guidance of my manager he has taught us the dos and donts of handing such information. My manager has taught my team the idea of quality assurance. He has made sure that we always check things that are sent to us for approval, just in case someone decides to do something unethically or morally wrong. My manager has also taught us to learn from others mistakes so we may avoid being viewed as unethical in the workplace ourselves.T.T.Gonzalez-Padron, T. (2015). The pain was better after a couple of days but then got worse after playing softball with his daughter. This morning his pain is so bad that he had trouble getting out of bed.You and Dr. Lee take a few minutes to review Mr. Paynes chart:Vital signs:· Temperature: 98.6° Fahrenheit· Heart rate: 80 beats/minute· Respiratory rate: 12 breaths/minute· Blood pressure: 130/82 mmHg· Weight: 170 pounds· Body Mass Index: 24 kg/m2Past Medical History: Diabetes, well controlled. Hypertension, fair control. Hyperlipidemia, fair control.Past Surgical History: NoneSocial History: Works as a truck driver, which involves lifting 20-35 lbs 4 hours of the day, married with 2 daughters,Habits: Quit smoking two years ago, drinks 1 to 2 beers occasionally on the weekends, no history of IV drug use.Medication:· metformin 500mg 2 twice daily· glyburide 5mg 2 twice daily· amlodipine 2.5 mg daily· lisinopril 40 mg daily· simavastin 40 mg dailyAllergies: No known drug allergies. Can you tell me about your back pain?As I told the nurse, the pain started two weeks ago after I lifted a box at work. Right away, I got this sharp pain on the left side of my back. The box wasnt even that heavy.I talked to the nurse at work; she said to ice it and to take ibuprofen. It got better after three days. But, I was playing softball with my daughter last weekend, and the pain came back. This time it was worse than before. This week, the pain is so bad I can hardly get out of bed. It is better when I lie down.Have you had back pain before?Yes, I have back pain from time to time. But Im usually better after 2 to 3 days. This is the worst pain I have ever had.Review of SystemsMr. Payne does not have numbness or weakness in his legs. The pain is better when he lies down. He denies urinary frequency, dysuria, problems with bowel or bladder control, fever or chills, nausea or vomiting, or weight loss. He denies any specific trauma, except for when he lifted a 10-pound box at work. He denies unrelenting night pain.Based on your differential, you determine that it is highly likely that Mr. Payne is experiencing a mechanical cause of back pain with nerve involvement such as a disc herniation. It is possible that he has spinal fracture, but a lack of trauma history makes the latter unlikely. It is important to consider cauda equina syndrome, as it calls for immediate surgical investigation, but it is unlikely in the absence of neurological symptoms like loss of bowel or bladder control. Finally, infectious etiology, such as pyelonephritis, is unlikely without fever and chills, urinary frequency and dysuria.Back Exam Standing:Mr. Payne has normal curvature, tenderness on palpation on the left lumbar paraspinous muscle with increase tone. Full range of motion, but has pain with movement. His gait is normal. He can walk on his heels and toes. He can do deep knee bends.Back Exam Seated:Mr. Payne denies feeling pain when checked for CVA tenderness. He has no pain in his right leg with the modified version of SLR. While he does not exhibit a true tripod sign, he does complain of pain when his left leg is raised. Mr. Paynes reflexes are 2+ and equal at the knees and 1+ at both ankles. The motor exam reveals no weakness of the muscles of the lower extremities. His sensory exam is normal.Pulmonary Exam: His lungs are clear.Cardiovascular Exam: His cardiac exam demonstrates a regular rhythm, no murmur or gallop.Three weeks later, Mr. Payne returns for his follow-up appointment and you discover the following:Pertinent HistoryMr. Payne has had little relief with the treatment prescribed. He is frustrated that he has been in pain for more than a month. His pain has been progressively worse. It radiates down the lateral part of his left leg and side of his left foot. This pain is worse than the back pain. He does not have any problems with bowel or bladder control and there is no weakness of his leg.Pertinent Exam FindingsVital signs: stableNeurologic: Normal gait, but moves slowly due to pain; range of motion is full, with pain on flexion; SLR is positive at 45 degree on the left; motor strength intact; reflexes 2+ bilaterally at the knees, absent at the left ankle, 1+ at the right ankle.Dr. Lee agrees with your diagnosis of radiculopathy of S1 nerve root with progression. She orders an MRI and sets up an appointment to see Mr. Payne after the MRI.You and Dr. Lee now return to Mr. Paynes exam room to talk about treatment options with him. Dr. Lee tells Mr. Payne to avoid strenuous activities but to remain active. Dr. Lee increases the dosage of naproxen to 500 mg BID to take with food. Since his pain is intense (7/10), he is given a prescription for acetaminophen with codeine to take at night, when his pain is severe. Mr. Payne declines a muscle relaxant because they usually make him drowsy. He would like to be referred to physical therapy as it was helpful in the past.FOLLOW-UP TREATMENTMANAGEMENTOne week later, Mr. Payne returns for follow-up. You review the results of the MRI report.MRI report:1. Moderate-size, herniated disc at L5-S1 with associated marked impingement on the left S1 nerve root and mild to moderate impingement on the right S1 nerve root. There is mild central canal stenosis.2. Annular tear with a small central disc herniation at L4-5 causing mild central canal stenosis. You review the findings with Dr. Lee. She agrees with your diagnosis of radiculopathy of S1 nerve root due to a large herniated disc at L5-S1.You call Mr. Payne two weeks later to see how he is doing. He reports that he is doing quite a bit better. He went to an osteopathic physician who did some manual therapy and started him on a strict walking program. He is very encouraged and plans on losing weight through exercise and diet.

Based on this information, in which city should you open a second office in?
Final Project Assignment InstructionsScenario Background:A marketing company based out of New York City is doing well and is looking to expand internationally. The CEO and VP of Operations decide to enlist the help of a consulting firm that you work for, to help collect data and analyze market trends. You work for Mercer Human Resources. The Mercer Human Resource Consulting website lists prices of certain items in selected cities around the world. They also report an overall cost-of-living index for each city compared to the costs of hundreds of items in New York City (NYC). For example, London at 88.33 is 11.67% less expensive than NYC.More specifically, if you choose to explore the website further you will find a lot of fun and interesting data. You can explore the website more on your own after the course concludes.https://mobilityexchange.mercer.com/Insights/ cost-of-living-rankings#rankingsAssignment Guidance:In the Excel document, you will find the 2018 data for 17 cities in the data set Cost of Living. Included are the 2018 cost of living index, cost of a 3-bedroom apartment (per month), price of monthly transportation pass, price of a mid-range bottle of wine, price of a loaf of bread (1 lb.), the price of a gallon of milk and price for a 12 oz. cup of black coffee. All prices are in U.S. dollars. You use this information to run a Multiple Linear Regression to predict Cost of living, along with calculating various descriptive statistics. This is given in the Excel output (that is, the MLR has already been calculated. Your task is to interpret the data).Based on this information, in which city should you open a second office in? You must justify your answer. If you want to recommend 2 or 3 different cities and rank them based on the data and your findings, this is fine as well.Deliverable Requirements:This should be ¾ to 1 page, no more than 1 single-spaced page in length, using 12-point Times New Roman font. You do not need to do any calculations, but you do need to pick a city to open a second location at and justify your answer based upon the provided results of the Multiple Linear Regression. The format of this assignment will be an Executive Summary. Think of this assignment as the first page of a much longer report, known as an Executive Summary, that essentially summarizes your findings briefly and at a high level. This needs to be written up neatly and professionally. This would be something you would present at a board meeting in a corporate environment. If you are unsure of an Executive Summary, this resource can help with an overview. What is an Executive Summary?Things to Consider:To help you make this decision here are some things to consider:Based on the MLR output, what variable(s) is/are significant? From the significant predictors, review the mean, median, min, max, Q1 and Q3 values? It might be a good idea to compare these values to what the New York value is for that variable. Remember New York is the baseline as that is where headquarters are located.Based on the descriptive statistics, for the significant predictors, what city has the best potential? What city or cities fall are below the median? What city or cities are in the upper 3rd quartile
