One of the ways to view the concept of risk management is by looking at it as a process. It is a process that entails identifying, analyzing as well as responding to risk factors. Essentially, proper risk management does imply the control of possible future events as well as it should be proactive rather than reactive (Bobylev, n.d.). I can go further and talk about risk management systems, which are designed to do more than just identify the risk. The system must also be able to quantify the risk and predict the impact of the risk on critical infrastructure. Managing risk should therefore be viewed as a continuous process. What is the relationship between countermeasures or mitigations and risk management? To answer I think that in the evolution of our risk management strategy, we should develop context-specific relationships between risk and countermeasure, as different security measures will come into play in different situations. This is where I think the aspect usually comes in. Because of the numerous numbers of critical infrastructures, which vary by nature of definition and operation, there is a chance that some might be neglected. Neglect can be as a result of human tendency to focus on the critical infrastructures that are perceived to more important than others. This is wrong because all critical infrastructures should be viewed as an interdependent network that is designed to support each both directly and indirectly. This is brings in the issue of availability of resources to the relevant agencies that are tasked with effective risk management. For developed countries, the issue of resources is not seen as a problem but for developing and underdeveloped countries, it is a major factor. Take for example, a country in Africa where its source of water for drinking by the people needs a risk management plan that takes into consideration past, present and the ever changing nature of different threats such as terrorism. A lot of resources is required to establish and sustain such a risk management plan. The purpose of a risk analysis is to identify assets, threats to those assets, the potential loss to an organization due to threats, and finally, how to respond to that potential loss (Thomas & Norman, 2009).ReferencesBobylev, N. P13-13 (liability errors) you are the independent auditor engaged to
P13-13 (Liability Errors)ÿYou are the independent auditor engaged to audit Millay Corporation’s December 31, 2014, financial statements. Millay manufactures household appliances. During the course of your audit, you discovered the following contingent liabilities.
1.Millay began production of a new dishwasher in June 2014 and, by December 31, 2014, sold 120,000 to various retailers for $500 each. Each dishwasher is under a one-year warranty. The company estimates that its warranty expense per dishwasher will amount to $25. At year-end, the company had already paid out $1,000,000 in warranty expenses. Millay’s income statement shows warranty expenses of $1,000,000 for 2014. Millay accounts for warranty costs on the accrual basis.
2.In response to your attorney’s letter, Morgan Sondgeroth, Esq., has informed you that Millay has been cited for dumping toxic waste into the Kishwaukee River. Clean-up costs and fines amount to $2,750,000. Although the case is still being contested, Sondgeroth is certain that Millay will most probably have to pay the fine and clean-up costs. No disclosure of this situation was found in the financial statements.
3.Millay is the defendant in a patent infringement lawsuit by Megan Drabek over Millay’s use of a hydraulic compressor in several of its products. Sondgeroth claims that, if the suit goes against Millay, the loss may be as much as $5,000,000. However, Sondgeroth believes the loss of this suit to be only reasonably possible. Again, no mention of this suit is made in the financial statements.
As presented, these contingencies are not reported in accordance with GAAP, which may create problems in issuing a favorable audit report. You feel the need to note these problems in the work papers.
Instructions
Heading each page with the name of the company, balance sheet date, and a brief description of the problem, write a brief narrative for each of the above issues in the form ofa memorandumÿto be incorporated in the audit work papers. Explain what led to the discovery of each problem, what the problem really is, and what you advised your client to do (along with any appropriate journal entries) in order to bring these contingencies in accordance with GAAP.

Project must be in APA format and utilize references. Expected length is approximately 2?3 pages.
Week 3 discussion assessment results and lre continuum | ESE 601 Students with Exceptionalities in the School Setting | Ashford University
ÿÿ
This discussion is your opportunity to demonstrate your understanding of the objective: Review the Least Restrictive Environment continuum of placement options as outlined by IDEA. The discussion represents an introduction to Course Learning Outcome 3 and the MASE Program Learning Outcome 1.
According to the assessment report you reviewed in Week 2, Henry will frequently look around the room before participating in whole-group activities, copying what his peers are doing, so not to be embarrassed that he does not understand the learning material or what is being asked. ÿMr. Franklin and you have observed this same documented behavior in multiple instances during classroom instruction and other activities. ÿBecause he has never been a behavior problem or disruptive, you are afraid that Henry?s introverted nature will cause him to fall further behind as has lack of progress goes unnoticed. ÿIt has been determined that Henry has a learning disability, which negatively impacts his reading comprehension and ability to organize his thoughts on paper.
Initial Post: Create an initial post using the results from the evaluation process presented in the Instructor Guidance as well as course information listed in the Required and Recommended Resources. ÿConduct a review of Henry?s assessment report and his background you created last week. ÿExplain to IEP team which academic setting you believe is Henry?s Least Restrictive Environment (LRE). ÿBe sure to justify your decision with information you?ve read in the text, the week?s reading assignments and independent research.
Guided Response: Review the posts of your classmates and that of your instructor. ÿRespond to at least two peers by comparing your placement decisions based on the unique background created. ÿBe sure to endorse, question, or refute your peer?s placement decision, compared with your LRE decision with supporting evidence from the literature. ÿYou are encouraged to provide additional resources that will assist with your explanation.
Though two replies are the basic expectation, for deeper engagement and application of the material, you are encouraged to provide responses to any comments or questions others have made (including your Instructor) before the last day of the discussion period. ÿThis will extend the conversation while providing opportunities to demonstrate your content expertise, critical thinking, and real work experiences with this topic.

Through the context of our discussions thus far in class we have talked at great lengths about CI/KR and the problems that plague our National security. After discussing risk and the risk assessment model, how then do we tip the scales in our favor in regards to the threats against our CI/KR sectors? One area that I believe is overlooked more often than not is the Food and Agriculture (FA) sector. Making up one-fifth of the Nation?s economic activity, one-fifth of the agricultural production is exported creating $144.1 billion in revenue, solidifying the US economy and making it the backbone of our society. This fact alone generates a great threat not only to the economy, but also the population of the United States. Given the vast consumption of food and agricultural resources in the US, any significant threat or action against this CI/KR sector would have vast consequences across the country. Be it natural disaster, terrorist activity or any number of other potential hazards, we must, as a Nation and department, mitigate the potential risks against this sector. Within FA sector, there are internal sections that provide regulation and security from within. They are the Food and Drug administration (FDA), the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). These departments provide safety standards and protections with the products themselves, whether it be from contamination or a biological or chemical hazard, but there are other threats that they can?t protect against. Supply, storage and transportation also pose potential risks to the Food and Agriculture section, not to mention the human error that can affect any step of the process (from farmer/grower to seller). Vast fields of corn, wheat, soybeans and hay make up approximately 350 million acres across the United States. How do we prevent against any potential threat against that magnitude of land mass? The reality is that we don?t. It comes down to individual or private entities protecting their self interest in those crops. After the production phase is where the government or private companies can step in with oversight and security protocols. Is there a large gap in this? Yes. But how do we mitigate that risk?
